I Always felt...... that the diorama is Such a Pain N da A$$!!!! But I like your paper mache method....it seems easy to do. I have tried resins and tissue paper, it came out "Alright", but expensive to get new resin (as stuff doesn't seal well before next use). Curious, what time line will you be doing, OR will you represent ALL squadron of 'Toms' on the deck?? ( I see you have -18s onboard too.) I WILL .... look forward to your build, I'm Glad I 'Subbed'!!!!
Hey there! Thanks a bunch for checking out the video and for sharing your thoughts! 😄 I totally get what you mean about dioramas sometimes feeling like a real pain in the you-know-what! That's why I'm all about finding methods that are both effective and easy to handle. Paper mache has been a game-changer for me too! As for the timeline, I'm aiming to represent a specific era in the CVN 65 Enterprise's history, but I'm definitely open to including various squadrons of 'Toms' on the deck, including the -18s you spotted! It's all about capturing the essence and vibrancy of life on board, right? I'm thrilled to hear that you're looking forward to following along with the build! Your support means the world to me, and I'm stoked to have you as a subscriber! 😊 Keep an eye out for future updates, and let's make this build one for the books! 🚢✨

I'm absolutely thrilled to share that I've managed to acquire the decals for Carrier Air Wing 8 from the historic 2005 'Last Tomcat Cruise.' This find has filled me with such joy! 😊 These decals were originally stationed on the CVN 71 USS Roosevelt in 2005, but what matters most to me is that they now enable me to construct models of the D variants for both VF 31 and VF 213 from that memorable cruise. The anticipation of bringing these aircraft to life is truly exhilarating! I'm pleased to mention that I secured these decals directly from STarfighter Decals USA, and now eagerly await their arrival. 🛬✨ Additionally, I'm continuing to expand my collection by building more Tomcats from various squadrons, envisioning a captivating 'What If' scenario with a flyover of the aircraft carrier. And not to forget, C Hornets are also joining the mix, adding another layer of excitement to my projects. Here's to the joy of model building and the anticipation of what lies ahead! Cheers! 🚀🎉"
I recently got the tamiya 1/350 cvn-65 uss enterprise myself, still waiting on various products before I begin build. Where can I find a clear case large enough to display it ? I noticed some of yours were very large.
@@CapLAGOS ... questions for you sir... if I may, 1.) Where did you find a display case large enough for it , or did you build it yourself...? ( I literally just now found on Amazon sheets of acrylic 1/8 inch 48 long x 24 wide big enough to build my " planned " diorama upon completion. ) 2.a.) double part question, How tall / wide is the ship... period, upon completion...? 2.b.) how tall.. resting in your ocean diorama from tabletop to top.. ??
@@brucemeyers4826 I'm glad you have some questions! Here are the answers: 1.) For the display case, i finde one on ebay....!. Finding a large enough case for such a model can be a challenge, so crafting one to fit the specific dimensions of the completed model was the best option for me. Acrylic sheets from Amazon sound like a great solution for your planned diorama! 2.a.) Once completed, the Tamiya CVN 65 Enterprise in 1:350 scale measures approximately (Te Box [1m large...31cm wide and 25cm high 2.b.) As for its height within the ocean diorama, from tabletop to the top of the ship, it measures approximately [1,15, large 38cm wide 48cmhigh]. This allows for a realistic portrayal of the carrier navigating the ocean waves, creating a visually striking scene. I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any more questions or if there's anything else I can assist you with. Happy modeling! 🚢✨
What aftermarket parts did you purchase to build this kit? I am about to start my Enterprise as well but I’m having trouble locating the photo-etched detail parts online.
I've been collecting for a long time until I start now... I got "Gold Medal Models - Shipsets" some time ago... unfortunately not for the elevators... but you can still buy everything from Big Ed (eduard) It is also important to build the "Air Wing... I decided on the "Last Tomcat Cruise" in 2005... that wasn't on the Enterprise... but to represent the Tomcat in the "D" machines It's worth it to me... the ground staff is also important to me... that's why I decided on the 3D version... they're much more realistic... it's all a lot of work... but the way is the goal!.. :)
