With everyone arguing so much there's very little chance to move forward and do something productive as a people United together. 50% of the population is still more than enough to destroy this planet and people. As much as it pains us, the universe does not revolve around Americans. This issue has to be addressed as a people one another alike. What a powerful speech.
    It is incredible to think, that, with so much on the line, this crisis, we are all facing, is not on the top of everyone's priority list. Instead, what do we see? Greed. The hunger for power and money, that has become entirely useless to us decades ago.
    We are connected, so why do we not work as one? Why is it, that survival is only second to pleasure at the cost of everything? How ignorant are we and how ignorant will we continue to be?
    We are humanity. Our strength lies in cooperation. So work together for crying out loud, lest we face annihilation at our own hands.

    • @heavierthanlight7173
      @heavierthanlight7173 5 ปีที่แล้ว +32

      @Marc Whitakay wrong. Science is waaay ahead, but is being stopped by big corporations. We already have enough technology and knowledge to intertwine nature with our technologies to reinforce both sides. But many greedy corps don't want those because the money will be allocated to a different technology sector, so it's being postponed for as much as they possible can. and on the other side people fear change so they go about it too carefully because of many of the following: change of the structure of their lifes, maybe they must think differently, afraid to give up stuff they already own, afraid they lack knowledge to grow with new trends. Then you have the people who think nature and men have nothing to do with climate change and don't believe we have any impact on it AND you have people that stop progression bc we come to close to some religious god and men can't be in the same level as god, so they counter progression as much as possible.
      In short: If we all could collaborate on this matter globally and every nation will share it's fair part in money and resources and we all agree that measures can, must and are going to be taken without resistance of any kind of corp. or groups of people and we provide the scientists, helpers, engineers and all they need at that moment, it's not only wonderfull for the health of the world, but also for the next generation technology sectors where billions of people could actually have a job in.

      There is an ancient technique that was used for turning a desert back into a forest. They plant and graze animals by sections. When the animals are moved to the next section everything grows because of the ground being naturally covered by the herd of animals and restoring the ground back to normal. That tiny few in the world are now using this technique instead of burning the entire field of old crops to replant. We are going to start doing that on one of our islands.that has the entire island destroyed by the military as a test site for navy/marines. We’ve tried replanting so many native trees but nothing works because the dirt has no nutrients, soft sand like dirt, cracked underground watersheds ect. The animal grazing technique so far has slowly started to naturally restore its foundation. However, 2020 the worlds first super computer at MIT prediction has been correct and that will be the final year we have to tackle the problem. If not the destruction we’ve done will be irreversible and by 2040 the air will start to become toxic. Then by 2065 no human will be around nor will the planet be habitable to us. Sad, how the drastic over population and the big industries still are grandfathered in dumping wastes into our water and how river dams no longer serve a purpose and made certain salmon go extinct ect. People all should be taken to the heavy polluted areas, drink the polluted tap water many towns in 49 states have access to. We need to upgrade our water facilities because they don’t filter out chemicals, pharmaceutical, viruses, bacteria and drugs.

If you are planting saplings and have enough free space you can easily grow that many trees. You can probably plant one every three minutes, if you are planting them in randomly on a wide open field. You'd have to spend a lot of time though. So this might be half truth. They might have "helped" planting 10 000 trees.

      That's a very good point - Mykhedelic *****!
      I love the Earth, just as the majority of people do! But some corporations are still destroying the planet for PROFIT! We should not have unregulated profit at any cost! We should only have up to $1 Billion maximum total assets allowed per person! And NO MORE! If that were enforced there would be many more millionaires and $1 Billionaires. Having an absolute maximum earnable would make sense, since a free market is not a FAIR market!
      We should have a FAIR MARKET, not a free market! Where in a free market, people are allowed to make any amount they want regardless of how much destruction they do! In a FAIR Market everyone would be treated as equals with hopefully the lowest wages would be $15,000 per year, subsidized by rich people and government taxes! And the highest wages would be the amount to keep any individual's total assets to $1 Billion dollars or less!
      The majority of people want FAIRNESS! I want Fairness for all lifeforms on Earth and elsewhere! Fairness does NOT include unlimited profit! All Billionaires should decide to give away any amount above a billion dollars that they have in assets! They could fund 3rd world persons or they could even just line the pockets of their friends, families and employees! But the Billionaires should not keep all their money to themselves! That's Hoarding, and hoarding is considered an illness! Maybe there could be a compassion medicine, maybe from marijuana? Since that's legal in Canada now! And anyone willing to keep more than $1 Billion dollars for themselves should be prescribed to take it. To see if that would make them more compassionate.
      Even Billionaires are people though, and some of what they sell may be good, so don't persecute Billionaires, just encourage them to give away anything above $1 Billion dollars in assets!
      I believe in Peace and Fairness, and Heaven on Earth for all lifeforms in existence. Try to spread Heaven on Earth To all lifeforms everywhere! That would be a Noble Goal!
      Thank-you! May YHWH God And Jesus Christ bless you! And May YHWH God And Jesus Christ bless the EARTH!
      Thank-you YHWH (God of the Bible's original name) God, and Jesus Christ!

Though it is true that many no longer live that lifestyle and are forced to live in palm oil and rubber plantations where they beg for a living.

It starts by fighting greed. No one creates added value exceeding 300.000USD. Persons earning more than this figure are abusing their position, laws or other people. Every income above 300.000USD should be handed back to society so we can give the poor a basic income for free. That way poor people don't have to damage forests, or polute or have many children just to survive. Remember, every rich person in this world needs hundreds of poor people, just to be rich.

      Plastic trash keeps piling up by the tons. Just the mass transport plastic bottles and the oil in raw form needed for processing into plastic is a polluter of significant magnitude.
      If things don't change within the circle of your reality...society as you knew it will become a deserted wasteland.

      Interesting that it's our nature is what drives us to destroy nature. Greed after all is a survival instinct, a very effective one. If you introduce catfish into a lake where they don't belong, they will destroy the entire ecosystem and eat everything until there is nothing left to eat at which point they too will die. A virus will eat it's host and then it will die. Every life form will expand it's territory as much as it possibly can and consume everything until there is nothing left with no regard for anything. When they're stopped it's by force, every time. There is some barrier, climate they can't survive in, another species that keep them at bay, not enough food they can eat, a physical barrier like a mountain chain or an ocean, pathogens they can't handle, whatever. Life never stops because it thinks to themselves "that's far enough, lets leave something for the rest of them", that's not a part of what life is. When we're destroying the Earth, we're acting like animals, we're following the programming of life. A real Human is someone who becomes more than just life, but most humans need to be herded because they'll never be anything more than just another life form. Once upon a time we had leaders that where real Humans, now we're just the blind trying to guide the blind out of a burning building. Will we find our way out or be consumed by the flames? Who knows, we can always hope I suppose, but it's looking pretty grim.

      Robert I do think we can have an industrial society, I am just sceptical that we can have a capitalist one. At the core of capitalism is never ending consumption. Companies in a capitalist economy all operate on the principle that every year they should produce more and sell more. If people aren't buying enough stuff, it becomes the job of the company of trying to convince people to consume more.
      It is pretty screwed up when you got a world where people in the rich world have most of the things they need and our environment is going to hell. Yet every CEO of every company is being paid to get us to consume more. That is simply not a sustainable model for the future.
      If we OTOH put technology and our industrial society at the service of nature and actual human needs rather than profits, I think we would have gotten a lot further.

      @@Fuzzybudget Buddy, we feed animals grain too, and less meat is produced than they consume in grain, not to mention methane emissions from livestock are actually a serious problem despite sounding funny. And then there is deforestation to clear land for livestock. Most importantly livestock only contribute 18% of calories, but use 83% of farmland. No matter how much you don't want it to be, producing meat is insanely damaging to the environment. 60% of all mammals on Earth today are livestock.

      You can plant hemp or other high carbon uptake, multi-seasonal vegetation. You can support conversion of CO2 into fuel with your money and vote to the extent you have one. You can advocate pyrolyzing boreal forests that are dead in the North from Lodge Pole Pine Beetle infestations caused by insufficiently cold winters. You can manage your own food waste streams to reconvert it into soil amendments or food...and you can raise the alarm non-stop.

      BingBing BongBong that’s where you’re wrong. We have that very special thing that no other animal on this planet has, brother: Hope. With this very beautiful thing, even despite the horrible deeds happening today, we CAN and WILL help this world and ourselves. Never lose hope, man. Once we do that, we’ve truly lost both our souls and this beautiful world we have the honor of calling our home. Hope, guys.

    • @BingBingBongBong
      @BingBingBongBong 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Roid-Monger 101 you’re wrong. No one is losing hope. Some people have just accepted our fate as a failed species. The oceans are dying and many parts dead. In the past 200 years more animals have gone extinct because of humans. The Amazon burned by humans because they’re evil. Dropping nuclear bombs for kicks. We’re already passed the point of no return for carbon emissions and irreversible damage to the environment as a whole. Corrupt governments that kill their own citizens to justify war. In order for the world to prosper humans need to step down as the dominant species on this planet.
      In order for any change to happen in our ability to work together as a whole something catastrophic must occur. Is that not sad? The fact that our very existence must be at risk in order for us to work together? It’s pathetic actually.
      Mother Nature will have her revenge. And I’ll be there to say, “you reap what you sow.”

      That's not true at all. We're still far from reaching a point of no return that would wipe us out. As terrible as climate change is, we will overcome it. We've only gotten this far because of our unbreakable will and our scientific problem solving. It will carry us through climate change, through the singularity, and mankind will continue to prosper for countless years to come. There may be some who have made catastrophic decisions for our planet, but for every one of them there are hundreds of people now rising up to take them on. How about instead of bitching about the worst of us, you join the good fight with the best of us.

    Having spent a great deal of my life traveling the few wild areas left on the planet by backpacking, bicycling, paddling and sailing, the great extinction we are now causing just breaks my heart. The damage we are doing to the planet with both our unsustainable population and consumption habits is forever. The loss of species that share this small planet with us is an unforgivable tragedy and our descendants (not mine, I don't have any) will curse us forever.
