I also had a very similar experience with winrate until I started recording my runs for TH-cam. It makes you slow down and explain your moves and you often get the chance to talk yourself out of bad plays. There's also the added pressure of "gotta win this one so I can post it" lol
Incredible early game. Early survival tools and a staff in your preferred school to solidify your late-game plan. What more could you ask for? i'd be skipping that faded altar, though, i think. i don't mind Ely or Gozag, but Zin is a pretty big miss and you don't really need to risk it as you're doing fine godless.
@Zmaniac I'm years out of date and could also just be misremembering, but Recite used to interact badly with spellcasting, so you basically just get Imprison and Sanctuary, both quite expensive, on a god whose main piety mechanic is stealing your gold. Great for 15 runes, but not very helpful for the first 3-5, so you only want to switch to him.
