I moved from Florida to NY. I had setup my PI3b working on allstar in Florida, but could not get it to work in NY on a different internet system.
Recently a friend turned me on to use DVSWITCH in web transceiver mode for allstar which allows me to access allstar nodes directly, without fussing over Raspberry Pi hardware and configuration, and I am able to access Allstar sites that allow Web Transceiver Mode.
I have not been able to ask my friend who lives in PA this question: Can you work the other modes like DMR and Dstar, etc in Web Transceiver mode? If so, how do I configure DVSWITCH to do so? Trying to eliminate the need for Droidstar to run DMR if I can do the same with DVSWITCH.
If I get an answer to this question if you do not know, I will share it here. TNX and 73's

You mentioned that you are using a th-9000d. Could you provide your simple USB settings for rx tx etc? I'm using the same radio and would like to see if my settings are "sane" great video!

There really needs to be a script to do the setup of a complete allstar node, it's too unrefined all this linux nonsense, some people might love endlessly tryping commands, I don't lol.

Thank you for posting this and the notes. I was struggling to get everything to work. There were multiple things I missed in the documentation that your video shows and text in the rpt.conf file. It is working...now what to do with it. :)

You should point out that's the HamVOIP version of Allstar, rather than ASL. Just because there _are_ differences in a few configuration settings, features, etc.

when attempting to bridge my node and 1999 it attempts to connect showing in orange and then quits. do you have any idea what could be the problem? i normally use supermon2 to control my node
Check your AST Log and Linux Log for obvious errors, also Are your changing the main drop down node selector to the private node? i.e. 1999 and then typing in the main node number into the text window and then trying to connect?
yes i did on the changing to 1999 before connecting to my node. I will check error logs and see what i come up with.@@HamRadioCrusader

what config changes should be done if you are using port 4567 instead of 4569 for your node?
Just follow the video and make sure you have that new port forwarded to your AllStar node in your router.
Will the end result of this procedure allow for controlling the digital modes with my radio? For example changing talkgroups? Is this demonstrated anywhere in the video? Thanks.
No, this is just a bridge to a particular talk group of your choosing and it remains static.
@@HamRadioCrusader I currently have a Shari node with DVSwitch Server installed and working nicely with DMR and YSF that can be controlled by the DVSwitch Mobile app on my Android. I'm told the control point can be your radio too (app OR radio, not both at the same time)....do you know where I could fine concise info on this subject as you've presented yours? Great videos btw!👍
