Good job with the deceleration in ground effect. Your Cherokee will also fly a lot slower than the book calls for if we decelerate enough to get a good sink and then bring throttle into dynamic control of glide angle and rate of descent (same as your shallow approach). This steeper approach does not have the ground effect for deceleration advantage of the shallow approach until just before touchdown, but will allow short field over obstructions. Vso has nothing to do either with takeoff or landing. The wing has to slow to well below Vso in low ground effect to make landing possible. Good job.
