    I live in New Orleans and this was a very accurate video! I highly, highly recommend Antoine's Restaurant if you have never been. It is personaly my favorite restaurant in Louisiana! It is the oldest family-owned restaurant in the U.S.! Also, for you tourists and for you, just about 6 miles away in Metairie there is a Café Du Monde on Veterans Boulevard if you have time to take about a two hour trip all together to eat and drive. On Veterans, you can also find two malls and many shopping centers and some pretty good restaurants. Also, if you are a tourist, NEVER say N'awlins or New Orleens. Say New Or-lens! And NEVER SAY CRAYFISH OR CRAWDADS THERE! ITS CRAWFISH! We will get mad at you if you say these word in New Orleans!

      @@tippytoe1250 April weather is mild to warm but likely humid with pop up showers. Depending on when you are visiting, one of New Orleans' most popular festivals may be going on, the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival. There, you can experience plenty of local food and culture in one place. Highly advised.

      HL Thank you. We went right after New Year and we had such a good time. We went to Jackson square, Cafe Du Monde, French Market, Garden district and the Lafayette cemetery. Unfortunately it was closed due to renovations. Then we also took a trip out to see the plantations. We saw Whitney, Oak Alley and Laura Plantation. We also checked out Battle Field of Chalmette. The food was delicious! We had some friends that we met in Italy back on 2017 that are locals and they took us out and showed us around.

      I've been to New Orleans six times and feel late October to mid November is also a great time to visit. Johnny's Po- Boys is also a great place for lunch, though I advise going there by 11 AM. Take the St. Charles streetcar to the "riverbend" at St Charles Avenue/ Carrollton and look around the area. I also suggest a walk on Esplanade Avenue- though only during the daytime such as late morning and afternoon. A meal at Brennan's is expensive but, in my opinion, well worth the expense. Diners there never tire of watching servers prepare one of the restaurants' specialties- Bananas Foster. If Aunt Sally's Praelines is still around, ( I haven't been in New Orleans since November 2003) that should also be on your list. And some locals will recommend Mother's Restaurant. I personally didn't care for it. But don't let me talk you out of a visit. It's been around since 1932, so must be doing right by enough people.

      April is a great time to go, way less humid than the summer months! Just double-check dates because Jazz Fest may be at the same time which means way more crowded and more expensive. Though, it doesn't matter when you go, just go! New Orleans is worth it. (Also, lots of good AirBNB options last time I went.)

      Some of the best restaurants are GW Fins, Antoines (oldest family owned restaurant in US and also creator of Oysters Rokerfeller), August, R' evolution, and so many others. However GW Fins has been recently spotlighted on tv and has been noted one of the best seafood chefs in the US. Menu changes daily and some are fish caught by spear by the chef himself. Had Lionfish and it was really good. Other fish Cobia (lemon fish), swordfish, Lionfish, Halibut, Redfish, Speckled trout, Grouper, Lobster, Drum, Sheepshead, etc etc.

    Remarks from tourists are always fun-- the Cafe du Monde was the original market before grocery stores for fish, meat and flowers, and veggies in the old quarter, called the "Morning Call". We lived around the corner in the Lower Pontalba, and our church was the Cathedral of St. Louis, King of France. Our front yard was Jackson Square with its magnficent equestrian statue of the hero of the Battle of New Orleans, Andrew Jackson.Probably the best bang for a buck is the ride UtPtown on the St. Charles line.

    Drinking, of course, is optional - for some, anyway.
    Such a shame about K-Paul. My wife and I met them both in the day and they were the nicest people, as you would expect. So was Dookey Chase when we met her. Since things are better, does anyone know if K-Paul might re-open?

      Ashley Hoogenboom as a New Orleans native the ones who have crossed over do care now that’s where you lack the knowledge of knowing.

      @@jvci07 you are so disrespectful and ignorant! Grow up and have some sense of decency for once or choose to remain an imbecile for eternity! How pathetic can one be? Oh, I know, not as pathetic as you. You're trying to be cute and funny but you simply let the World Wide Web know how dumb you are!

      June is hot but avoid coming in July and August at all costs. Early October to May is a good time temperature wise

      Okay, if it okay to visit new Orleans alone for a girl or it is not safe?

      Debodatta Ghosh it depends where you go really, like mid city near the cemeteries are fairly safe during the day. If you wanna go to bourbon street don’t go alone. It’s really more unsafe than safe, lots of weirdos out here

      I agree with Jennifer Rodriguez, In bourbon street, French quarter area, I'll advise you go with someone especially at night.

      Hi. How can you buy ticket ? Should we get them online before we go or can i purchase them there when I go to New Orleans in July??? Thanks 😊

    • @Hijabiglobetrotter
      @Hijabiglobetrotter  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@berthaaguilar4252 It's better to book online because some time slots are fully booked especially for the swamp tour. You don't wanna drive all the way there just to find out that you have to wait for some hours or even the next day to get on the tour.
