I'm genuinely curious about everyone's opinion here: is it just me, or would some of this dialogue actually be funny if properly delivered? Like, the uncle being disappointed about his transformation not garnering a reaction seems like a legitimately good bit in the right hands. Or do I just have godawful taste?

The game's theme is obviously to parody the overused stereotypes of the horror genre, and the way it Tries to do that is actually not bad, this game could have been a amusing little ride, for those who likes adventure games, but it's made so poorly that it just falls flat. I believe a lot of the intention behind having Spud being as much of an asshole as he is in this, is kind of a attempt to put a "sensible" character in a world where superstition would fit better. However, as said, he just across as an asshole. I think that, in it's essence, it's actually a pretty nice parody, even if not intentionally, of the Adventure genre as well, with the stupid things you have to find to get past a, in reality, WAY easier problem to bypass (the slime in front of the stairs), because I think most of us have been in that situation in several games, where you just go "Really? I can fight a titan large as a twenty floors building, but I can't just climb that waist-high wall and walk straihgt up there? Thst's stupid!" and The Quivering makes a good joke on that. However, judging by the overall execution of the game, I would assume that it was not a intentional comment on game design. :P
The more I've watched the more I get the impression that there's a certain subversive 90s Britishness to the humor (the devs were UK based) that is lost both on foreigners (not to assume anybody's nationality) and all of us who live in the present.
Yea, i can see where the jokes would land But; 1. the game is just... god awful and 2 the the low quality of everyone's voice, and just how much they, do not give a shit, just murders the delivery

Good god, not only fucking disgusting in gameplay mechanics (seriously, the arcade thing which has more than enough unfair bullshit) but no, there was a fucking sequence bug that ruined the entire game from disc 2 onwards. I feel sorry for any kid that played through this.
I only just noticed, on what must be my 10th or so watch of this stream, an additional little shitty piece of laziness: The item description when Uncle Frankenstamp says "A gas mask" is clipped out of the longer comment "A gas mask wearing skeleton. How odd." As in, it's the same audio clip, just cropped down. They didn't even record separate lines.

Something just occurred to me. Could the clown in Hell be the talking tree? I mean they seem to have the same voice and have a piece of the same dialogue about the yellow brick road.
With the first "Be Flippant"- THAT'S NOT HOW IT WORKS. No matter what, the concept can exist. One cannot deny the concept has power- that's what drives religious institutions to do what they do- by using chaos theory! I have some mandatory assigned reading for the people who made this game. (I'm not trying to do a whole "god exists" thing. What I'm stating is that the concept of a supreme being exists separate from an actual being. God might not exist, but the idea of god does; that idea has power regardless of whether or not the supreme being itself actually exists.)
I dunno, I thought some of this was kinda funny. I'm only a half hour in, so I'm sure there's gonna be some way worse stuff later from what I've read in the comments, but it did feel like you guys were over-reacting to some of the more innocuous British humor. c:
