    Excellent video, and great tips! The fun you guys were having catching those gators (as we call them in the US) is infectious, makes me want to get out and fish ASAP. PIke (and muskies, here in the northern US) are so much fun.

    Really nice video guys!! I have a question: I see a lot of pro-fishermen that uses this "fluo-green" colored line, what kind of line is it, and what advantages does it have? Keep up the good work ;)

    • @timeisfish7015
      @timeisfish7015 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey man. Many different line makers have fluo green lines. I use them cause its easy to see the line for me and the other people in the boat. This is especially important for me when it comes to perch fishing when the bites sometimes only can be seen on by a small twitch in the line :)

    What would be a good, cheap heavy baitcasting rod for our big Irish pike?

    • @timeisfish7015
      @timeisfish7015 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey man. The W3 Powercast 8'3" 60-180g is a very capable rod for casting large baits. Due to its moderate action it´s easy to cast all day with it and still not experiencing fatigue :) It has Japanese Toray carbon and has a very affordable price :) Check it out!

      Time Is Fish I own the Powercast-T (a bit heavier version). It was not "cheap", but worth every penny. 👍 Build quality is just incredible and 130g shads fly with zero effort.

    Hi,what is a good reel for the w4 monsterstick.?

  • @deanwatt
    @deanwatt 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Do you have two different lengths of fluoro for leader?

    • @timeisfish7015
      @timeisfish7015 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Dean Watt I use about 2 meters of 1,2 mm mono connected to the main line with a FG knot and then I have a 20cm wire at the end to prevent damage where the teeth are. This way I and the pike is as secure as possible and it will never brake or fail leaving a pike with a lure in it's mouth 👌

    • @ballhawk387
      @ballhawk387 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@timeisfish7015 Interesting. I use a mono 'shock tippet" at the end of my main line, too, in order to keep contact on the head shakes, because I also mash down the barbs on my hooks. My shock tippet is about 10ft/3m for casting or 25ft/8m for trolling.
      I'll have to check out the FG knot. I've been using a 5-turn uni (braid) to triple fisherman's (mono) knot, which tapers front to back and casts well enough, but thinner and double tapered would be better. Thanks!
      My leaders are lighter, typically 30# (currently P-Line Floroclear fluoro-coated copolymer) because I still have yet to be bitten or broken off as I've lightened them up, figuring the extra strikes far outweigh the odds of a break-off, but I understand going heavier to eliminate the possibility of a pike being left with a lure in their mouth and unable to shake it out.
      Though I once had a pike who ate deep, with at least 2 trebles in, and thought would be very difficult to unhook. So I unclippped the lure and put the fish in the live well, lure in mouth, to unhook after reviving a bit as I fished, and before I got to unhooking the fish, the lure had already come out! So I'm much more confident that a fish who breaks off could shake free than before.

    what is the difference between powershad T and monster stick? what reel do you guys recommend?

    • @westinfishing
      @westinfishing  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello
      The difference between Monsterstick & Powershad-T overall, is that the monsterstick is developed for fishing with heavier baits than the Powershad-T is, which you will see on the casting weights. Furthermore there is a difference between the length on the rods. It depends on what kind of fishing you need the rod for.
      To what kind of fishing are you looking for a rod for?
      Normally we recommend Daiwa reels. The Daiwa Lexa is a good baitcasting reel that we've used in a lot of our videos.

      Westin-Fishing trowing shads and rubber over deep water with a trigger rod. Occasionally a hard bait or grinder.

    • @westinfishing
      @westinfishing  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The W4 Powershad-T series really are perfect allrounders for that type of fishing. These rods will handle everything from medium to xxl sized shads and baits. They come in 3 different length / castingweights.
      You can check the W4 Powershad-T out and read more on this link: www.westin-fishing.com/en/products/powershad--powershad-t/w4-powershad-t
      The W4 Monsterstick-T is the rod for you, if you're looking for an extra powerfull rod for deep hook settings and throwing the really heavy baits/lures.
      You can read more about the monsterstick on this link: www.westin-fishing.com/en/products/monsterstick-t/w4-monsterstick-t

      Westin-Fishing how big and heavy are those shads fished in this video?

    • @westinfishing
      @westinfishing  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The shads they were using is our Hypoteez ST 25 cm (110g) and Shadteez slim 27 cm (117g). The softlures is rigged with our Screw In jigheads and a stinger rig.. That means the the Softlures will get up around +140g depending on the weight on the jighead.

    Can anyone here tell me the difference between the w3 POWERCAST t 60-180grams
    and the w3 POWERSHAD T 60-180 grams?? I'm looking at the online and the both have same specs and look the same and I want to buy one??

    • @westinfishing
      @westinfishing  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Messenger 88
      The W3 Powercast has a more parabolic action and is a fantastic all-round rod, where the W3 powershad has a softer tip and is aimed towards fishing with softlures. You can read more about our Rods here: www.westin-fishing.com/en/products/pre-rods-01prerods
