'I'm a libertarian socialist. I believe that socialism is the best way to get freedom for individuals.' And by socialism he DOESN'T mean Marxism-Leninism.
Foot's candor and common sense at 1:58 almost made me cry. Although I disagree with him in many issues, at that very fundamental level, he is the SANE man. We need some of this kind of sanity nowadays.

I never liked the man when he was alive and disagreed with just about everything he ever said, in fact I dread to think what state this country would be in had he become PM, however, I've always had the greatest respect for people who stand by their principles, something which is sadly lacking in today's Labour. The only one left now is Skinner and although I thinks he is nothing but an ignorant s**t at least he is consistent even if his principles aren't up to much.!

Thanks for this!
We miss you Michael Foot... ):
Missed what? his sense of humor or impractical stone age Marxist ideas.
Anybody can think he was right or not, but there's a thing that is true: he was a honest man.
Always with the 'Donkey Jacket' what a shameful epitaph for a genuine political heavyweight. He's right absurd.
He could have been a brilliant stand-up comic. His delivery was spot on.

Hey, it is Irving Berlin's "The Old Man" with some of the lyrics changed to fit Michael Foot :)
