  • 1 Year THUMBS UP Review HELIX 10 CHIRP MEGA SI GPS G2N
After one full year of use on the water and on the ice I give a double thumbs up review! The unit is extremely bright, fast and easy to use. I would highly recommend this unit to anyone that can spare the cash. If you can afford two 7 inch units front and back, opt for those instead.

Thanks for the video - I was just in Cabelas and now contemplating buying the Helix 10 Gen2 now that I've found out more about it. I don't know that a Gen3 vs Gen2 would make a huge difference.

The major difference between them is Dual Spectrum CHIRP sonar which gives you more flexibility which allows for better Target separation

Thanks for the cool install and review vids of this unit. I just ordered one. I saw somewhere else that you may need or want a second transducer for better "traditional 2D sonar" imaging. Did you install a second transducer or is the 2D sonar imaging sufficient with the included transducer?

I just use the original transducer. However I could not get it to read at high speed. That is probably what people install another one for. You should have contacted me sooner I can get your 25% off Humminbird units

Dang! 25% off would've been nice! No biggy though. Thanks for the quick response and info. I think I'll be ok with running just the provided transducer. About what speed do you start losing the 2D?

5 mph, I think. I tried adjusting it down but it didn't work then either.
