Great video series. I wish you had included more of the black trail footage. But and outstanding video adventure. I believe my wife and I along with some friends are going to the trails system next summer.
Made it to blue lake last week. What a fantastic place. Took some time to ride some of the same trails you guys took and a few others. Been to the Arapeen 3 times this summer already. Thanks for pointing out what has been in my own back yard this whole time. Heading out again on Wednesday. Looking forward to your next video.
WOW! What an amazing trip! And so well documented! I absolutely loved this series! You need to sell these productions to a documentary channel. They are very very well done! Thanx again for sharing your trip!
Great job ! Thanks for sharing your adventure with us. It's truly a place that captures your heart no matter how many times you go there to ride. I do agree on your opinion of the Barney Lake Trail. I'd much rather go up it than down it. See you on the trails 👍
I was just having this conversation about the Barney Lake Trail with someone recently. Glad I'm not the only one who prefers going up the trail, rather than down. Thanks!
Your production is superb, as always. What a great trip! Too bad for your buddys rack and frame - hopefully he has them fixed already so he can head out to the next adventure. Looking forward to more of your awesome videos!
Agreed these videos are awesome! I do alot of dispersed camping in similar areas with my SUV and it occurred to me it would be so awesome to have a ATV strapped up with compact camping gear and a gas can and to be able to go on the more rugged remote trails but still have a vehicle and my first search led me right to here. This is great motivation that trips like this are a very real possibility
helluva trip! Though I'm familiar with all those areas as a Utahn and a hunter, I'm new to the SxS world, and I'm anxious to do some overnighters on some of those trails! Thanks!
Just subbed. I want a quad now so bad. The technical stuff looked fun. Great times. Most of my friends would rather watch sports than go camping and riding. They will camp but usually just a night or 2. I want to do far trips. I kinda want an adventure bike so I can ride far to cool places to camp. If I have a quad in my truck I’ll be getting like 10mpg. Haha.
Thank you, thank you, thank you! I need to start planning a trip to South Central Utah. Question, you have reviewed the Boski trailer, why didn’t you utilize it on this trip? I would like to be sure to have enough fuel and water without rack failure 😜 and over loading the bike. I have a 2017 Arctic Cat TRV ( two rider vehicle). The longer wheelbase, sway bars, and power steering helps, but I don’t want to risk it. Thanks again!
Thank you and a fair question. Boos knew he had too much weight on the rear rack so he was definitely rolling the dice. On these trips to this area so far, we've had ambitious plans to covers 120+ miles per day. With someone hauling a trailer, it would definitely slow us down on the steep hill climbs and descents. These trips have been about going going going, so far, and exploring new trails. And not knowing the trails before we go, we are hesitant to get into some situations that would be uncomfortable. Additionally, my Kingquad is a 500. some of these hill climbs (Barney Lake for example) would be a LOT of work for my 500, and there are spots I would most likely need help getting up some spots towing. It'll do it, but a lot of work. We do have plans to use it on some shorter trips this coming summer. But for these trips to Utah so far, it's been all about light weight, and covering ground. Also, the trailers would be great if you were going out to setup a base camp somewhere, then ride.
Really like your videos. Question is, on them you say to get more info from the website, however when trying to go there, get the message that it doesn’t exist?
This was the 2nd week of September. It's all about the elevation and weather pattern. Regardless of the time of the year, if you're camping 9K+ feet, it can get cold. Our first trip was early August back in 2014 and we were not prepared for cold weather. The last night we camped pretty high, around 10,000 feet, and it got down into the upper 20's . It only took one night of waking up, literally shaking, and I now pack a ZERO degree bag for all Paiute trips.
We plan our routes using available maps and satellite imagery, creating a GPX file route which is then loaded into Backcountry Navigator. This is what works for us.
Hello from the East side, fantastic video, that looked like an epic ride, do you think a person could get a trail side by side thru there , yes they are 50 inch but my concern is the lenght, and I'm talking just a 2 person trail machine, i want to be able to access all the 50 inch trails .
Yes, if you have a 50 inch SxS, you would fit on all the trails in this area. The only trail where length may play a roll (although I think you would make it) would be the Rocky Ford Canyon Trail, which we covered on Day 4 of our 2017 trip; th-cam.com/video/R_MbX-KuqX8/w-d-xo.html. All of the trails covered in the Utah's Trail Country, no problem at all.
@@martinmaxey2064 Yes, 50 inches will fit on all the trails. Most of the gates (I say most because we haven't measured every gate) are actually 51" or 52". You will fit if you are 50". Totally worth the drive. Have a great trip!
Sam Schneider we put about 1000 miles on the Paiute Trail in 2018 in our Can Am Maverick Trail. Some tight trails were difficult to maneuver through with the added vehicle length, but we were able to fit through every 50 inch gate easily except for one, Trail 97 over near Kanosh. My machine is 51.25 inches wide at its widest point, but that gate had to have been less than 50 inches, cuz I wasn't even close to fitting through it. We passed through every other 50 inch gate easily.
We actually had one guy on a Rubicon a few years back with us. He had not issues. Just know your range and plan accordingly. We usually plan fuel stops no further apart than 160 ish miles when riding this area.
This was mid September. If you don't mind cold (30ish) nights, late September is an awesome time to visit. Having said that, our first trip there (2014) we went the last week of August and it got to freezing about 8000 feet a couple of nights.
Great video series. I wish you had included more of the black trail footage. But and outstanding video adventure. I believe my wife and I along with some friends are going to the trails system next summer.

Thanks so much for watching and the compliments. ATV Documentary channel, now that's something I could get behind.

Yes sir, it'a already fixed and we're looking forward to this summers adventures. Thanks!
Looks fantastic!!
Thanks for sharing.
Getting ready to head to the paiute in a couple weeks. Went to pull some data from your website. Is it under maintenance?
I cannot find it either.
Love your content....you videos are top notch and have really inspired me. Keep em coming. Thank you.
Thanks. We're looking forward to getting out on the trails this summer.
Well done as always.

@@jjcox7969 Awesome. I'm sure you aware, but some trails do have width restrictions. Regardless, plenty to see. Thousands of miles of riding.

Yep. we let the site expire due to needing to migrate to new servers, etc. We'll have something published again in the future.
what an amazing series!!
Thanks! What an amazing place to explore. We are so fortunate to have places like Idaho and Utah.
What time of year was this trip? You mentioned it got cold at night.

What size black tote do y’all use? For storage
i wish i could see sum new uploads! but love the channel!

I kinda have the same question. So the new can-am outlander is 50” wide. It will still fit right? It’s a 18hr drive not not fit.

Clay looked at the website for gpx files for this trip. Will you be posting these?
Thank you for the reminder. yes, will get these posted in the coming days.
Thanks. looking forward to it. Hope one day to bump into you guys on the trail. Looks like you always have a great time.
Have you had an opportunity to upload GPS files?
You guys see many guys do this on Rubicon’s I think fuel range may be a little less than the Kingquads?

A question for you if you don't mind. Do you ever seen 50 " SXS's on the trails? Are the trails suitable for them?
Howdy. Yes, 50" SxS's would be great for the trails. Have a great trip. Once you go once, you'll be hooked.

How many miles total was the trip??

When is your next trip in this area? Would love to join u
I don't know I hear it's hard on frames LOL
There's no atvoverland.com ???
Yep, the needed to be transferred to new servers, cost, etc. The videos will have to suffice.
