Please don't let this version fall off of TH-cam. There are only a few songs, by only a few bands, that can carry one of their studio recordings over into live music, with such depth and emotion as Sparks did here. Not to mention, this was the best lineup, ever.
I disagree. Maybe you're a lot younger than me old sod, but the best backing band the Mael brothers ever had belonged to the 70s with the albums ‘Kimono My House’, ‘Propaganda’ and ‘Indiscreet’, also live. This band here is rather secondary. I don't want to criticise the band at all, but unlike the 70s band, they only work in the background. And...I love this song and the performance, but it's a far cry from ‘live’.
Absolutely UNREAL!!! Possibly the very best live version of a Sparks song? Without a doubt, I happen to think so. I cannot stop playing it. It just impresses me as being something really special. Thank you Ronald and Russell for totally blowing my mind.
