Can Paladins defeat Teutonic Knights? | Age of Empires 2

- Here are the Paladins with civ bonuses taking on the Teutonic Knight. Is there a Paladin that actually can win? From the Lithuanians with the extra damage when obtaining relics, Franks with their extra hit points, to the heavily armored Teutonic Paladins. Are they up to the task?

Imagine if the Byzantine knight line was also given trample damage from their imperial age civilization tech.
Considering that they have one of the worst knight lines, missing out on bloodlines as well as the last attack upgrade, this could be a game changer. At the very least, it would bump their abysmal knight line up a bit and possibly make them viable in game?
Giving them the same trample damage as the cataphract would probably be a bit too much, but I could see 1/4 damage to adjacent units as a solid buff without pushing into overkill range. This would also encourage players to get both blacksmith attack upgrades and knight line upgrades, as well as logistica, keeping in line with the expensive upgrade costs that are required to utilize logistica in the first place.
Either way, I thought it was an interesting idea twenty+ years ago when I was a kid playing the conquerors expansion and trying to figure out how the trample damage worked on what was once one of my favorite units and civilizations.
I hope whoever reads this gets as much entertainment out of this thought as I did.
Then, you'd have an op knight line because the Polish winged Hussars with just 33%(+4damage) trample damage is already OP.

Perhaps it would be OP, but I’m curious to see what it could look like.
As I mentioned in my above comment, the Byzantine knight line is one of the worst in the game. I also said that giving them the same trample damage as a cataphract (5, always ignoring armor) would be too much, in my humble opinion.
But, there are different kinds of trample damage in the game. I proposed 1/4 of the knights attack, although I should have specified that the 1/4 trample damage is what battle elephants do, and it’s also affected by armor, so it is weaker than the cataphracts trample damage that ignores armor.
This is why I was saying that this would make it very important to fully upgrade your paladins, as a fully upgraded paladin would only do 4 trample damage, with every armor upgrade diminishing that until it was only 1.
With this kind of trample damage calculation, I feel like their knights would get a small buff that wouldn’t be game breaking.
If there ever was someone that could do the mods to make this happen, it would be this channel.

obviously not? teutonic knights lose to melee units only if they are strong counters like catas or samurais but why would paladins ever pick a fight against them
@@raptorhacker599 right, but I had to test to see the difference. For instance, I didn't expect Frankish Paladin to be on par to a generic one 1 vs 1.
Don’t know what buddy is referring to because just recently i saw viper play Teuton knights as counter to the knight line. And if knights are your main army with what else you gonna engage Teutonic knights?
