- In this video we tackle the first tool rebuild from my Great-Great Uncle's treasure hoard. This tool is called a traveler, l it was used to measure the outer circumference of wagon wheels back in the late 1800s, but now I will us it to create art.

Hopefully you'll be the relic that your children's children will be cherishing. The history and knowledge you have. My dad's grandfather was a carpenter. So of my dad's favorite memories are being in his shop and learning from him.
What a special memory!! I hope to share moments like that with my family!
History, metalworking, trying different methods to see what works - all my favorite things. Very cool.
Right?? I’ll try to film more of that process
I like how the footage is uncut and shows the time and effort put into restoring these old tools. Keep up the good work.
I really appreciate that!
wonderful! im in the process of restoring a 60 year old table saw i picked up recently. its so satisfying bringing old equipment like this back to life
Oh absolutely!
I love seeing you joy of having these. May they bring you so much more!
There’s more to come too!!
Max absolutely beautiful job my friend. Congrats. Hopefully you will get great use out of it for many more years to come my friend. Can't wait to see more updates an projects and many more videos soon my friend. Forge On. Fab On. Weld On. Keep forge lit
Keep Making. God bless.
I can’t wait to use it!!
I absolutely love your videos brother. I went to school for sheet metal and welding when I was in my 20s, hoping for a future in fabrication, but the future had different plans for me. I'm still fulfilled with no regrets, but I would love that if someday fab work made it back into my life. I live the stuff alot of the forgers do down here in orange County, That being said, your homage to the crafts origins is what truly fills my soul. Be well my brother and may success find you in all of your ventures without the bitter taste of failure. ❤
Thank you, I appreciate that! I hope fabrication is in your future too!
My little perfectionist heart panicked for a moment when you said you were going to put it back together before you straightened it. LOL. Great tool and it cleaned up so well!
Hahaha!!!
So cool! Looking forward to seeing you use it.
I can’t wait!
Love this!
So glad you enjoyed it!
That's really cool. Never seen a small version like that. When I was a kid my dad used a large one (4ft? Diameter) for measuring land on the farm. If we were going to create a new field or something he could walk it and then mark it out.
A four footer?? That’s awesome!
@@Max_Randolph_Studios yeah, just an estimate. I don't remember if it was set up for a rod (16.5 ft) or what. It had a handle and you just walked with it and counted.
this was awesome to watch!!!!what an amazing tool! thanks for sharing as always :))
I’m so glad to hear that!
This is lovely! It must feel amazing to have so much history in your hands. And great work restoring it!
It’s been an amazing discovery!
Awesome! I love using old tools, they're often well built and brings you closer to previous generations
Absolutely!!
Awesome video 🖤🫶🏼🖤
Thank you so much!
I want to make myself one of these, it would be so useful!
Go for it! I love using it!
Fancy meeting you here my friend!! I hope all is well in your world and I’d love to reconnect with you sometime soon! 🙌🏻🤝🔥
Hey buddy!! It’s great to hear from you! All is well in my world, hope you are doing good!
All I can think of is the line from LOTR . Reforge the sword that was broken,
Haha! Love it!
I don't know if you're familiar with the product Bar Keepers Friend. It is very good at cleaning stuff like that wheel without destroying the metal.
I’ll have to look into it!
Vinegar is best to clean soft metals and works well
I’ll give it a try next time!
👍👍👍👍👍 I have one somewhere lol
That’s awesome!
How u doing?. omg, you shared breathtaking ,🙃
Doing great! Thank you for asking!
1:58 What about using an impact screwdriver? If you have one of course...
I really like to feel how much pressure I’m putting it through you know?
@@Max_Randolph_Studios Very true. I suppose an impact screwdriver would also be a bit too harsh on the delicate material it's made of.
