This is such a masterpiece. This instrumental, her voice in the chorus, her flow in the second verse, the lyrics are quite inspired too, but yeah overall this is just an amazing track.

My god, that synthy bassline with the rapidfire hi-hat at 2:40 is absolute BLISS! The vocals really match the bassline and despite the wistful lyrics Sarah's voice is so dreamy and uplifting. Totally feeling the Big Grams influence here. I still miss their old vibe and hope they don't sway too far, but I could totally live with this.

I love all the comments saying this sounds too poppy, but Phantogram has always made pop music their brand is just different. I personally love this and the lyrics are great.
I think what people mean with their criticism is that this is too mainstream pop sounding . it sounds like an average radio pop hit.
honestly to me its not bad but they are definitely trying to get to that mainstream level with this album. idk I you follow then in Instagram but they ha e definitely been trying to place themselves within the mainstream pop scene. with videos and pictures with Miley Cyrus, Beyonce, Chance etc.

I don't agree. They had always stuck to a more Triphop sound. Eyelid Movies is the sound I fell in love with. It still has that choppy, sampled, sampled bit that Phantogram makes. But this is very glossy and sugary, they lost their balls a bit

Run Run Blood sounds like their old stuff a bit. You Don't Get Me High Anymore sounds like it belongs in Voices. Cruel World sounds like it belongs to Big Grams. Its all of their styles combined. It's all good but I see where everyone is coming from
