Dr, as a Turkish person and a long time fan of your channel i want to really thank you so much because of your non-biased and objective commentary. Because honestly, when i saw this video's title i was worried bc so many "plastic surgery in Turkey" videos gave of that "oh so you go to this 3rd world country where there is no medical standards so ofc you will be harmed for life" kind of racist and fear mongoring vibes which i find really offensive. the main reason why ps is much cheaper in Turkey is the devaluation of our currency which makes us, the Turkish people living here, suffer already and to hear foreigners who came here for cheaper surgery without any research whatsoever being used to trash our country as sort of a "lawless, uncivilized country" really sounds inconsiderate. But as expected, you were kind and objective as always. Thank you so much for that and for your informative videos💗
Dont pay attention to ignorant americans who have no knowledge of the outside world. They are more indoctrinated and censored than Russia and China but dont know it.
Instanbul is absolutely beautiful. I visited for surgery in 2020. I made sure to tour the city, eat the amazing food, visit the bazaars and more. Its really a beautiful country with some great people.
Couldn’t agree more with you. I’m in the medical field in the Netherlands and I flew frequently to Istanbul to see if I can conduct medical research with doctors there and I have spoken to some amazing doctors. And all of them explained me that medical procedures are not cheap to the people in Istanbul. It’s actually quite expensive and these people cannot afford these procedures. The Turkish Lira currency against the dollar and euros is very low and that’s why affordable to foreigners. But “cheap cost” doesn’t equal cheap quality medical care. One doctor told me the Turkish medical school is like being in an army, it’s intense. However there has been malpractice due to “medical professionals” conducting procedures they aren’t licensed for. That’s why you should always do your research. But this can happen everywhere, also un the USA
I’m American and I find it funny when Americans think our “healthcare” system is the best in the world. It’s certainly the most expensive, with some of the worst outcomes. Chronic illness wouldn’t be skyrocketing if our Drs were the best and brightest. This country is sicker than ever. I think there’s approx 300,000 deaths per year from medical mistakes made by Drs in this country. There’s also a large number of people who die taking rx drugs exactly as prescribed by their Drs. When I went to Taiwan and Japan, I was astounded by how much more intelligent their medical staff were. The Deliberate Dumbing Down of America is no joke. For example, my mom went to the Cleveland Clinic, one of our best hospitals, supposedly. She had a high fever from an active infection. The first thing they wanted to do was give her a flu shot. You NEVER give a vaccine to someone with an active infection unless you are trying to harm them. Thank God my mom was informed enough to refuse the vaccine. That’s just one example of many I could give. The incompetence I have witnessed is truly staggering. No offense to Dr Linkov, ofc, he’s one of the good ones.
Last winter I flew from Los Angeles to Istanbul. Found a clinic while there. 8 months later I am very satisfied with the results. Airfare, 5 days hotel stay and cost of procedure total was $3000 the doctor was there the whole time, it took 10 hours. Three patients that day , one doctor, 6 technicians two staff 4 hours extraction, 6 hours implantation. Surgeon was available the whole time, supervised every thirty minutes.
I am a 62 year old woman who does not have a hair loss problem, however, I find this channel so informative and I'm drawn in by the doctors' voice and professionalism. I could listen to him talk all day.
Well taking it into consideration that woman produce significantly less levels of testosterone through there lives. Also the hormone responsible for the production of DHT that is also the dominant cause of hair loss in men. I’m not surprised it seems woman are lucky Lol. 😂😂😂😂😂
One incredible thing about Dr Gary is the very clear and seamless ways he explains pretty complex procedures. No one will fail this guy’s test in an examination. Very detailed Doctor. I have so much respect for him.
I got a hair transplant in Miami December of 2019 paid $8000 for 1600 graphs. I just came back from Instambul August of 2022 and received 3200 graphs whole trip aside from airfare because I used points was $2800 procedure, 5 star hotel, transportation and meals. In miami doctor just did local anesthesia and left. Instambul they were there the whole time.
My friend from the UK went to Turkey to have nose surgery. I was trying to persuade him not to go as his nose looked fine to me, however he kept saying that he had problems with internal structure since childhood (which I’ve never heard him saying before). So idk really if he lied or not, but long story short, doctors did a good job, it healed really well and he was super happy after.
@@RALIF.ISMAIL right lmao he talked about how he thinks his friend was lying and warning him about it all to say his friend looked great after the surgery💀
I’ve been flying in and out of Istanbul annually for ten years and in the last few years the airport is full of men who’ve just had hair transplants. I hope the people who come for transplants also get a chance to see the city a bit and don’t immediately turn around and fly home.
Most are flying immediately back home, because the surgery can be very draining on the person’s scalp and also immune system. Since most are in the country for 4 days, they have enough time to rest up a bit before going home for recovery. However, they probably get to explore Istanbul a bit when they revisit for a checkup
I’ve was in istanbul last month and managed to see a lot of the city, I visited Galata tower, the grand bazar, the blue mosque and Hague Sophia, basilica cistern and a few other spots. Amazing city and will definitely be back soon
@@FreedomFox1 its because of the economy of Turkey currently. once the lira value increases i dont think we'll see much medical tourists coming to Turkey
This dude Gary has got a calming voice. I went to Istanbul a year ago and spent about 3-4K and they had a translator put me in a nice hotel and picked me up and drove me to and from clinic and airport. I am happy with results
I’ve been thinking about getting my hair transplant for the last two years and thanks to your precious videos now I feel way more confident about my decision. You clearly explain everything and that’s what people like me need to know. Thank you so much!
I am 22 maybe I’ll give it a few years but this stuff sounds to good to be true lol , but I’ll look into in the future because my temples are starting to thin
stop waiting and get too it. Just had mine. Best decision ever. and the low hairline..i will transplant ever single hair on the sides to the top if i have to.
Read this before booking: I was desperate for help and stumbled upon this Bloomberg video. I fell for the whole glossy presentation and booked immediately. I later found out, Blue Magic isn’t on the ‘Top 10 clinics in Turkey’ list. I wish I had done much more research. But I flew to Istanbul in May 2022. I was picked up in a dirty van and brought to a mediocre hotel. The clinic you see in the website photos and TH-cam videos does not exist. Instead, I was brought to an empty office building with a very temporary set-up. I asked 4 people why we were in such a dingy building with mis-matched furniture. One told me they were renovating the old space, one said they have multiple offices, one said they were building a brand-new clinic and one said that this is their only space. The first person who greeted me was a sloppily dressed student - my translator. She said, “who are you?” and gave me a document to sign. The document was a release form in case of death, waiving all responsibility. It also mentioned possible extra costs. It was a very odd welcome. No champagne, no greetings. I had questions about the document. She told me to sign it, and my questions would be answered later. Four of us crammed into a tiny elevator. There were no COVID rules, no masks. We arrived in the offices - I sat on some old IKEA furniture. The “doctors” and “technicians” were all around 22-25 years old. There was no leader or manager. The main “doctor” wore jeans and was maybe 28-30. The experienced old men in white coats from the videos were nowhere to be seen. There were no staff rooms, the staff just hung out in the receptions area and looked lost and rather chaotic. There were no changing rooms, or any privacy at all. A man with a video camera was following us. The reception desk doubled as a blood centrifuge station. The receptionist worked with blood samples less than a meter from where I sat. The staff were on their phones the entire time. They had no other computers or tools. There were a few pieces of equipment scattered around. It did not feel at all like a medical facility. There was nothing hanging on the walls - only dust outlines from the previous tenants. The man beside me was given a pill for his high blood pressure. He didn’t know what it was. Him and I started nervously counting the red flags. I understand that the staff can’t all speak English, but they constantly pointed at us, talked and laughed in Turkish. That was unnerving. We were to wear our street-clothes for the surgery. We were given no gowns. When meeting with the “doctor”, I was asked all the questions I had already answered in my medical questionnaire weeks ago. He had done no preparation and didn’t have a copy or any paperwork at all. I had to inform him what procedure I was having. I told him what the team had promised me, he disagreed and told me it was not possible. I showed him the many, many photos I was sent from the sales team, he just said: Not possible. I was mis-informed about what results I could expect - and found this out in Istanbul, 10 minutes before the scheduled surgery. I had already paid the full amount for the procedure. A 400 GBP deposit and a 1844.87 GBP payment that morning. I was horrified. I decided not to do the surgery. The American man with the high blood-pressure walked out as well. Two of the four men backed out that day. The American went back 2 weeks ago. In November 2022. Same building, same conditions, same staff. He said the procedure was horribly painful and would never do it again. Since May, the CEO’s assistant has tried to convince me to also come back. She apologized for almost everything, blamed culture differences for the rest, and thanked me for the valuable feedback. No compensation has ever been offered. Finally in November, with no progress or acceptable solutions, I decided not to go back. Too many broken promises, too much misleading information. Too many reasons to just go somewhere else. I asked multiple times for a refund. They have flat out refused. As a last resort, I threatened to leave some bad reviews. The CEO replied to may last mail on November 11 and wrote: “Unfortunately from today onwards, no one at our company will be at your disposal neither will come back to you further this last email of mine. You can proceed with all the things you listed, I am sure it will keep your life busy for a bit. But I invite you to think about something. How good this will make you as a human being for acting unfairly towards a group of people that at the end of the day, only tried to help and support? Best of luck.” Looking back, there were so many signs. The company has a “clinic” in Turkey, the employees are in Albania with, sometimes, British phone numbers. The company “headquarters” is in the UK. This means, there is no way to hold them legally accountable for anything. The messiness is intentional. My lawyer wouldn’t touch it. But caution: The sales staff are unbelievable friendly. Super polite, almost creepy. They told me exactly what I wanted to hear every time. They comforted me and assured me. They called me 'family' and guaranteed we would all be best friends. They sent 30+ before and after photos of happy clients. (I am not sure the clients are aware that their ‘before’ photos are being Whatsapped all over the world - without their consent) I never waited more than 4 hours for an answer. Until they had my money. They have “medical specialists” to answer specific questions. Although, I have a biology degree, and most of what they told me was inaccurate or outright wrong. I guess most people don’t question it. My desperation for change and improvement somehow let me ignore so many things. Turkey has many clinics. Blue Magic does own any special technology. I contacted Bloomberg to ask if they know about the misrepresentation in their video. I have received no answer yet. “Too good to be true” really applies here.
Thank you. One of the few honest comments in the sea of shills. There’s a reason it’s so much cheaper in Turkey. It’s not magic. These companies spend lots of money on shilling.
9 months ago I went to Hair of Istanbul in Turkey and paid $6000 total for a 4400 fue procedure. So far it has come out pretty great and so far has changed my life for the better.
@@russ1490 Yes very happy I can’t even tell anything was taken out from the back. It doesn’t look or feel any different. But also I had a very thick donor area.
Hey bro can you tell me the name of the clinic, I’m looking to get HT in a few months so doing as much research as I can before I choose the clinic I go for. Thank you 🙏
Dr. L. again your insight shows how great of a doctor you are, not insisting that one way is the only way. Hopefully that in turn makes people want to go to your clinic more.
Im a Türk living in İstanbul. One of my childhood friends is a hair transplant technician. She went through a training and got her certificate needed. And she is earning so much money at such young age, her coworkers say she has a natural talent for the job, and yeah definitely it is illegal in Türkiye too if you are not trained properly.
That is scary, so anyone with some talent and good eye can actually start performing hairtransplant surgeries? Hairtransplant just like any other operation should be in fact must be done by experienced doctors.
@@csulacivileng.2791 it’s supervised by a doctor, but doesn’t need to be performed by one. Many medical procedures are performed by trained technicians or health care professionals
@@csulacivileng.2791 did you even read my comment? I said she got trained for it and educated. And she passed all her exams to get a certificate. And now she operates with a plastic surgens supervision. Does that sound like anyone can do it? And if you are patient enough to watch the whole video that is also what the doctor says.
@@ruveyda2638 I did read your comment in entirety, I believe in doctor doing the operation not the hair technicians. Perhaps licenced hair technicians that have minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience could assist doctor in placing her follicles, however as far as incisions doctor has to do the operation. Personally I would only go to a clinic that does one patient a day and doctor has to do the operation. As far as I know Dr. Bicer is the only doctor in Istanbul does one patient a day, and if I were to go to Istanbul Dr. Bicer would be the one I would go to.
I have had multiple hair transplants in turkey one surgery is not enough in most cases. I am completely satisfied with the out come. I travelled from Australia and was able to get a holiday and transplant for less than $3500 Australian dollars. I would recommend anyone to go Turkey but just do your research and find the best clinic.
Dear Dr. Gary Linkov, it is so much appreciated and thank you that you offer this advice for free (others would charge). Sincerely, you are a true doctor, caring firstly for patients' health and then for your clinic's profit. Now, concerning the video commenting, I laughed hard when someone said that 6 hours could do the whole procedure, as not even a robot can perform such a a demanding micro-surgery (such as FUE) in that time. From my experience, my transplantation lasted a total of 16 hours, divided in two sessions of 8 hours, in two consecutive days. It was much more efficient that way, as both the patient and the surgeon get tired after some time, especially if we are talking about >3000 graft procedure.
I’ve been watching your videos for a few weeks now and this is the video that has made me decide to get a video consult with you and seriously consider getting a hair transplant with you. I am a female and I live in California and you have made me feel so comfortable with the level of your knowledge and the way you explain things and the medical therapy need it afterwards is so critical for me to work with somebody so well informed professional and experienced. Thank you for this doctor.
Thank you so much Dr Gary I have benefited so much from you. I had my hairtransplant today in turkey I wish it's going to be best decision I have made ❤🎉
Turkey is amaaaaazing!! Last year I had a glow up done: my teeth, my eyes, my hair transplant! Highly qualified specialists, extended before and aftercare, i have only the highest praise!! I found my clinics on Instagram and then on WhatsApp I had initial consultations. I spoke to many clinics and did my research before.
I had an M shaped head where my sides receded . I still had good midscalp and crown was all. good. I had a hair transplant in my local country Ireland. They had great reviews and I asked questions for months and months everything looked good. they told me they would put 3000 grafts. The surgery cost me €10,000. The results was so disappointing, it lacked density and hairline looked so fake. I do not expect to have great density but the density was super low to a point where after hair transplant I still shaved lol. Also just to point out, it looked nowhere near 3000 grafts after the surgery, more like 1800 grafts max. Last year in December 2021 I went to Turkey clinic called Cinik and I had my second procedure there, they fixed the hairline made fixed the density and it looked better in every way. I only paid like €2500 including hotel, food, trasfer. I felt robbed paying €10,000 in Ireland.
Borz, thanks for sharing your experience! I'm sure this is a helpful perspective to many patients. The fact that the British "documentary" doesn't cover the reason why Turkey is considered for hairtransplants other than a cheaper price is just pathetic. Turkey has top-notch clinics and imagine them to have more experience dealing with a mixed variety of hair types.
I've gotta be honest. I live in the United States, and had a hair transplant done in a neighboring state. My first instinct was to go to a good place in Turkey but I ended up getting a procedure not too far from me from a board certified hair surgeon. I paid around $11,000 for almost 2,200 grafts on my frontal area and honestly, I'm not very hopeful of the results. I've had a McDonald's hairline for years and the doctor was adamant about designing a hairline with some recession so it would look natural. Two months later and I still feel like the sides are still too receded, and it honestly seems like it's not gonna be much of an improvement by the time 12 months passes. I still have a McDonald's hairline, just now it looks thicker in the middle. If I had went to Turkey in the first place, my hunch is that they would've gave me a hairline that wouldn't look so receded. I'm gonna have to get a second transplant anyway for the back of my head and I'm 100% going to a good place in Turkey, and I plan to ask them if they can actually do some work on the front as well near my temples. Don't make my mistake; if you're not rich, go to a good place in Turkey.
@@kevinnorris6558 they are very competitive on that front and I find that Turkish clinics have the tendency to share most of their results on instagram, which is very transparent and helps you choose the right clinic based on results rather than speculation.
Thank you so much Dr Gary Linkov, you really are a wonderful human being I watched many of your videos before I went to Istanbul to have my hair transplant and currently healing. I cannot express what an amazing channel you have I wish you all the success!
5:48 - For anyone wondering "Clumps of Hair" is the proper/preferred medical, and scientific, term! Clump is a precise unit of measure equal to 3 Globs!
Hair clinics and their surgeons in the west are just jealous. Not only is the Turkish hair transplant surgery very cheap compared to the west, They're also highly experienced and skilled. The same applies to dental surgery clinics in Thailand.
I went to Istanbul as I seen a deal for £1000 with a good known company. Flights were £200 return. 5 star hotel and picked up at the airport and dropped off. Treated very well. They done a brilliant job….as stated my hair fell out after 2 weeks and nothing happened til about month 4 then within a couple of weeks I had a perfect hairline. 10 months in now and it’s amazing. Would definitely recommend Turkey Istanbul - longevita
@@MrEmontano08 I’m not that’s what I’m worried about. I’m 100% happy so far 11 months in and Longevita said I won’t need fisterine or anything but most people seem to say otherwise
I was there this month and the experience was great! I was collected at the airport and booked into a Marriott hotel, had 2 days to explore the city myself before I went for the procedure! Was seen by the doctor to discuss what I was looking for and he wanted to make sure I understood the dangers of lowering my hairline too much! He was part of the surgery for extraction and overseen half of the implant stage! I just suggest you do your research and ask how much involvement the doctor will have during your surgery! Istanbul is an amazing city to visit also
I did my hair surgery in Istanbul in February 2022 and transferred 5500 from my back to the front and top I paid only $2400 and my hair now look so different I’m so happy
Actually there's a very sad fact behind this popularity. When you exchange your one US dollar, you get around 18 Turkish liras (September 2022) Hair transplant procedure fees start from 9000 liras which is around 500 US dollars. It's so funny. But here comes the sad part. If you live in Turkey and want to get a hair transplant it's very expensive. Note that min wage in Turkey is 5500 Turkish liras (around 300 US dollars) So, Turkey is a very livable country only for who does not live in Turkey.
I just came back on Wednesday from my hair transplant, I will see in a few weeks, months the result. Unfortunately I don't had time to see Istanbul, so I have to go back to see the town. So if you go there, make sure you have time to experience it. Do not rush!
i know a guy paid about 10k € for his hair transplant in europe and some part of his donor area wasted, then he started to search about Turkish clinics and found a clinic that has global famous and went to turkey. He is happy now. As far as i find out, it's not about money, it's about finding real professionals
Being a doctor working in Istanbul, I completely agree that some hospitals and clinics are putting the patients lives in danger and not most clinics are legitimate. Being in this field of work I have been guiding patients to the most trusted and liable clinics and hospitals for all kind of treatments. You may write to me if you need any sort of medical related guidance. All thanks to dr. gary for this eye opening video, finally some one cares.
@@user-qc5jw1xy5l there are a number of clinics and hospitals which are good for specific types of hair transplant. We would first wanna find out what type of hair transplant is suitable for you, if its FUE or DHI or FUT, Which can be figured out after looking at the quality , spread, thickness/ thinness of your hair. And also not all clinics have DERMOJET which is painless needleless anesthetic before the transplant is done. you can send me pictures of your head from all angles and ill provide you the information.
@@user-qc5jw1xy5l there’s memorial acibadem and medical park , you gotta make sure which ones providing DERMOJET and also make sure if you need the DHI hair transplant and not fue. As Dhi has better ligation as well as success rate .

I really appreciate your honesty and candor about these various procedures and the nuance and complexity of these issues. Male pattern baldness is very very prevalent in parts of my family. One of my grandfathers died with a full head of mostly dark hair at 69. My other grandfather is in his 70s and is still living, but he really started balding when he was in high school. And most of my uncles are pretty bald. So naturally I’ve been concerned about her loss since I was 19. I’m 27 and on medical therapy and fortunately I’ve kept about 90% of my hair so far.
You my think I'm not being objective cause i'm Turkish, but really there are too many great places for hair transplant in Turkey, Istanbul. People are really happy after their procedures. Of course there are good and bad places I cannot say which one is which, but if you do your research properly, it most likely will be great for you. There is one doctor I know, his name is Bülent Cihantimur. He is one of the best one I know.
So I went to 3 doctors in the US for consultations about hair transplant surgery and none of them rejected me. I needed my front and crown done. The 2 doctors in Turkey I talked with rejected me. They said I’d have to have two separate surgeries for the best results.
I’m in Turkey, just got the transplant can comfortably say it was a great experience. Gotta let it heal to truly see results but I’m happy so far. Flying out tonight. Antalya, what a city, just beautiful here.
My comment is not specific to Turkey, but to overseas medical procedures in general. When I was looking to have a procedure done overseas, one of my biggest concerns was, what happens if something goes wrong. Are they going to have the care and facilities needed to resolve any issues? That concern is what made me decide to stay home. I am glad I did, as I had complications, and ended up in the emergency room 3 days later. I am not saying A foreign country won't have the ability to take care of emergencies. I am saying make sure you find out beforehand. The last thing you want is have an emergency medical situation in a foreign country, where you may not speak the language, you don't know anyone, and you can't get the help you need.
Ive been searching the internet for months, and this is one of the first channels I feel like Ive gotten some truth, I dont know how to thank you, but thank you so much♡
There are good clinics in Turkey and India. I'll personally speak to a professional hair consultant that has done the due diligence of researching clinics, as well as, having had the procedure themselves (multiple times). I've found a couple here on YT. I'm personally going consult with one or both of them before considering a procedure. The reason why the reputable US clinics can charge many times more per graft is simply because they can, even though, their results don't justify the price compared to a great clinic abroad. Unfortunately, many younger men on a budget understand that hair is an uphill battle and most likely will require multiple HT's and lifelong medication to maintain their hair. Remember, there are good and bad clinics in the US and abroad.
I’m here in the uk and the procedure over here was exactly the same. The doctor oversaw the work. The technician did the procedure and that was with KSL quite a well known clinic. I’ve had 3. The best one by far was in Turkey 2022.
While browsing the internet, I discovered your account, Dr. Gary. As a man in his fifties who thinks he knows the thruthful, I must commend your channel for its immense utility. The primary reason for its value is that you demonstrate honesty and integrity with yourself before extending that honesty to others. Thank you, Doctor, for the wealth of information you provide and for your exceptional professionalism. Sincerely, a follower from Saudi Arabia.
I did hair transplantation in Istanbul. Regarding medical therapy, they highly recommend finasteride (one package included in the price). They also recommend Minoxidil after one moth, prp after six moths and microneedling after 10 months.
@@jackc8120 Well, even after finding the clinic make sure that the procedure is made by the doctor in person ( Of course with the help of his assistants). You may have to pay a little more, but it's worth it. There are 4 top Doctors/ Clinics in Turkey ( A simple TH-cam search is enough ) They cost maybe 500$ more than the rest but they are worth it.
I’m from Istanbul and would like to remind every visitor that large destructive earthquakes are being expected in the region, so when visiting please make sure you stay in buildings built after 2007 (the newer the better) and that you are aware of all the dangers (building collapses, tsunamis, fires, total chaos etc)
I'm Turkish and we've even had tsunami warning signs placed around the European side of Istanbul and the Anatolian side of Istanbul. We are currently expecting a large magnitude earthquake by 2026.
What a great video! As a person working in the hair transplant field in Istanbul, i urge people to not go for the low cost route ( even if a higher price doesn't mean good quality either since most places are not clinics but agencies that charge you double), there are many great places here. But this clinic mentioned in the video is definitely not a renown local clinic, i have never heard of it until i saw this video. Don't get fooled by marketing! Double check on everything, even better come here a few days prior and check every small detail!
Just do your own research online about specific doctors and clinics. It's not hard to spot ones that seem sketchy or are very professional with many great reviews and well known doctors. I got mine done in Denizli Turkey and the clinic was in a big modern medical clinic that was extremely clean and orderly. The doctors (it's a medical building with different doctors) and assistants wore gloves and masks and had patients wear shoe smocks and a patient robe . They did a blood test the day before to make sure you are okay physically for the procedure. Everything was personalized and explained in great detail to me. One patient per day. The doctor himself did all of the scalp mapping, follicle extractions, and all of the holes (most important for direction of hair) for transplant area. It took about 9 hours. My doctor was recommended to me by my coworker who also used this doctor, so I already got to see the good results that he received first. But I still researched.
Excellent Excellent information presented in a very clear way. I was fortunate to chose an excellent clinic here in the Seattle area for my first transplant 5 years ago. Thanks to your series, I feel much better informed about caring for my hair and making related decisions in the future. Thank you. You are doing good and important work for many of us out here.
Hey man, hope you're doing ok and getting some time for yourself. Also ty for your vids on hair regrowth. It's good to know there's options when hair loss kicks in later on in life (female-pattern baldness is a long celebrated part of life in my family)
My hair transplant experience in Turkey . Gorgeous city Greeks did great work building it and Turks added modern amenities . But Hair transplant no. Most of their clinics working on it ,but is really a gamble because everyone does great advertising but not everyone does great work! Save some extra bucks and be safe. Congratulations for your work Dr. Linkov Greetings form California And Good luck to everyone on their hair journey.
I've had two FUE procedure by Dr. John Cole, at forehair clinic. He always does the punching of the donor follicles. His 1-2 techs extract them typically. He will sometimes come in and place extracted follicles but its always been his techs that primarily pull the punched follicles. Him and his office has always done a great job. @@Thad91 oh damn, sorry to hear that, did you have a bad result or just the experience? It's actually even more important in this case for you to share their name, so that we know which clinic to avoid! I'm so curious, why you are dissatisfied so fast already!?

Dr. Gary Linkov is smart and has a good heart. I wonder how hard that is to find in a surgeon. I feel like I would pay anything, if I could, to have the comfort of being in his care.
as far as the technicians in Turkey i compare them to a tattoo artist here in the states. they are not a doctor yet deal with puncturing the skin, bleeding and risk of infection but we assume the are trained to deal with these things. If the techs are properly trained there in Turkey then im A-ok letting them slice me up.
Got 2,400 grafts done at Advanced Hair in Denver, CO about two weeks ago. Still watching these videos because I just find the whole industry interesting. I would say I went into the procedure well informed. My biggest insight so far is that the pain in the following week is worse than I was expecting.
@@sandiago7564 about 14k. so obviously paying a premium to not go over seas. I explored both options, but ultimately decided to have it done here for my comfort and convenience.
i live in istanbul and have a friend that owns a hair transplant clinic and they are very succesfull, can connect them to you if you want to do a live chat or smthng at least you would learn how it is in Istanbul from the first hand.
Three questions for you Doc 1. Where are you located? 2. How much do your transplants cost on average? 3. Why don't you have hair if your a hair transplant surgeon?
A Turkish person who owned a hair transplant clinic told me that the vast majority of hair clinics are unlicensed. He has clinics in other countries and I trust what he says. I went to check out some clinics while in Istanbul. One was a hotel, another two were travel agencies. They're listed as hair transplant clinics. Everyone gets a slice. There's good hair doctors there but it's a bit of a maze sifting through everything - who's good, who's not, who's licensed, who's not, who's my doctor, how many other patients will be there, etc. etc.
I had this done in Charleston, SC for 4k . 2400 grafts. My results are natural and hairstylist can’t even tell. Stayed State side and Physician was available before, during, and after.
Unfortunately people have no other option. This procedure would probably cost over $30,000 in the US. It's a shame people have to go to another country just to get a procedure.
The 55 yr old losing his hair made his hair loss more rapid with his use of steroids. He should be aware of that going forward or he could end up with a very patchy situation in the future, obviously needs to be on and stay on finasteride.
As big as the HT Industry has become, why on Earth are clinics here in the US (and around the World) not lowering their prices by now, for example.. These guys prices in Beverly Hills are so damn Greedy its ridiculous, don't they realize if they charge less for the procedure that their business would Increase by 10 times... H T doctors need to wake up, when Turkey is stealing all the clients, and getting all the business , maybe its time the US HT Industry needs TO LOWER THEIR PRICES...
All in all the US quality of anything is based on money and not pride and workmanship. It is a shameful fact from hair transants to automobiles to nurses to doctors ,all doctors should have this mans outlook for helping people . There is no reason why are health care should be the most expensive in the world. They need to hold doctors liable for the transplants the due as it plain and easy to see if a person is botched, if something like that was done to me i know it would end up me committing suicide as your ruined and robbed of all time here on earth any way you look at it if your truthful with yourself and others.
Thank you for the commentary, doctor. I don't have a hair problem at present and nor do I have an interest in plastic surgery. The only surgery I've ever had is the VNS. Quite fascinating. It does take effort to do your research and it is worth it.
Medicine in Turkey is top-notch. Turkish doctors and dentists are highly educated and are great at what they do. In fact many Turkish doctors get offers from all over the Europe that Turkey has hard time keeping their doctors in the country. If there are so many surgeries that are taking place and they weren't working, there is no way these places would stay open. Think this thoroughly. This and dentistry operations marketing around the globe to be done in Turkey is not a new thing. If there is one point we'd take out of this whole discussion, that would be definitely checking out this surgery to be done in Turkey if you are contemplating to do it.
I do not think there is a doubt there are in fact great doctors in Turkey, but the sad fact is that hairtransplant industry has become commodity in Turkey. Surgeries must always done by doctors and their trained assistants, not licensed hair technicians. It's okay for trained and licensed hair technicians to assist doctors, but it's tragedy when hair technicians are doing the surgical procedures.
@@csulacivileng.2791 I wonder if this is really true, but have you ever had laser, injections or threads done under your skin in US? 95% of the time these procedures are done by nurses; you never see a doctor. This is no different.

Why take offense though? That’s what they use against you my brother

Read this before booking:
I was desperate for help and stumbled upon this Bloomberg video.
Wow, TY for posting this, sounds like a complete nightmare!!! I was about to contact them myself!

Perhaps licenced hair technicians that have minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience could assist doctor in placing her follicles, however as far as incisions doctor has to do the operation.

Last year in December 2021 I went to Turkey clinic called Cinik and I had my second procedure there,
they fixed the hairline made fixed the density and it looked better in every way. I only paid like €2500 including hotel, food, trasfer.
I felt robbed paying €10,000 in Ireland.
Hey man, sorry to hear that. Which clinic in Ireland? I'm considering to do it here rather than flying to Turkey. Your experience could really help 🙏

How is your hair now one year later?
i know a guy paid about 10k € for his hair transplant in europe and some part of his donor area wasted,
then he started to search about Turkish clinics and found a clinic that has global famous and went to turkey.
All thanks to dr. gary for this eye opening video, finally some one cares.
what clinic do you recommend for hair transplant
@@user-qc5jw1xy5l there are a number of clinics and hospitals which are good for specific types of hair transplant. We would first wanna find out what type of hair transplant is suitable for you, if its FUE or DHI or FUT, Which can be figured out after looking at the quality , spread, thickness/ thinness of your hair. And also not all clinics have DERMOJET which is painless needleless anesthetic before the transplant is done. you can send me pictures of your head from all angles and ill provide you the information.
@@mohammedaslam70 i'd rather hear publicly what clinics you endorse as trustworthy. i have normal texture thin hair and have been recommended for FUE
@@user-qc5jw1xy5l there’s memorial acibadem and medical park , you gotta make sure which ones providing DERMOJET and also make sure if you need the DHI hair transplant and not fue. As Dhi has better ligation as well as success rate .
@@mohammedaslam70 Thank you for posting this info. While I'm probably going to wait until this time next year to do anything, I appreciate you providing the recommendations for DEMOJET and DHI, as well as the locations. Much appreciated!
Dr. Linkov, your eyebrows are looking fabulous! 😍 👌
Yeah, those 5 hairs are looking awesome. 😆
I love Dr Linkov and use all his videos to go to sleep. His voice is perfect for my kind of ASMR - it’s calming to the point of tranquilizing ❤❤❤❤
You are a good man, Dr. Linkov. If I ever get a hair transplant it will be with you! Pinky promise!
Thank you for not choosing to outright hate on turkey !
@Rtg Nzb just one time gave you sufficient result? I heard that to get the best result, most people generally need more than 1 transplant.
What's the name of the clinic and how much did it cost?
Name of clinic

If I ever need one,,Dr Gary is my guy!💪
Ive been searching the internet for months, and this is one of the first channels I feel like Ive gotten some truth, I dont know how to thank you, but thank you so much♡
I really like your editor, some gems in this vid😂
Got mine done in istanbul. Very satisfied. Overall great experience
I think it really just comes down to researching the individual clinic/practioner you go for whether that is in Turkey or anywhere else
It is a lot cheaper in Pakistan so I decided to go for a local hair clinic run by a plastic surgeon. It is my 2nd month and things are moving fine.
I’m here in the uk and the procedure over here was exactly the same. The doctor oversaw the work. The technician did the procedure and that was with KSL quite a well known clinic. I’ve had 3. The best one by far was in Turkey 2022.
Can I just say that you're looking quite healthy Gary, it's lovely to see!
I had my nose job done in Turkey. I would recommend it to everbody. 💓
I did hair transplantation in Istanbul. Regarding medical therapy, they highly recommend finasteride (one package included in the price). They also recommend Minoxidil after one moth, prp after six moths and microneedling after 10 months.
I hate that you need a prescription for finasteride
Practice makes perfect. In Turkey they do hair transplant constantly . They are the best at it . Just make sure that it's done at a licensed clinic.
How do you find a licensed clinic? A good highly recommended clinic?
@@jackc8120 Well, even after finding the clinic make sure that the procedure is made by the doctor in person
( Of course with the help of his assistants). You may have to pay a little more, but it's worth it.
There are 4 top Doctors/ Clinics in Turkey ( A simple TH-cam search is enough ) They cost maybe 500$ more than the rest but they are worth it.
You're just cool, doc. Finally, a doctor men can relate to. (Down-to-Earth, yet sophisticated/respected professional)
Superb content. Dr Gary and team - you are helping many with your honest fact based reporting.
Hi dr Gary, me as a interpreter at BlueMagic Group , really appreciate about your objective comments and thoughts. Greetings from Turkey🇹🇷
This may be your best video. Super informative
I went to Istanbul in October for a hair transplant. Best decision I made!
hey, which clinic did you go to? :)
Admire your honest and very direct opinion. thank you
Eyebrows looking good Dr.gary
Is impossible for non locals to be sure of getting what was promised or seen in advertising photos.some clinics even photoshop before and after photos
Choose a clinic close enough
,in case of a necessary revisit !
Save some extra bucks and be safe.
Congratulations for your work Dr. Linkov
Greetings form California
And Good luck to everyone on their hair journey.
Hes protected me from myself when Ive requested an aggressive hairline on a few occasions.
John Cole is out of Atlanta, GA i think?
How much was the procedure?
@@steffeness1 yeah, that and NYC...sorry for the super late reply.
@@davidblizzy9725 a lot...not something Im a fan of talking about since you know, you can go to a lot of clinics and get it for maybe 20-25% what I paid. Im just VERY cautious and Im lucky enough to have the means to do it. My first procedure was 2100 grafts and it was during covid, which he was running discounts. The second was 2400 grafts. Ive paid about $32k total, I believe it was. Id have to check my records but I know it was low 30s.

Turkey is excellent health care. I had my gall bladder removed there and the “hospital” was like a high end hotel room, and the Chef came up to take my beverage order. Bloody awesome. Why would I go to the US and spend $25000 USD for the same high end service for $7,000 USD ? Even with a $4,000 Business Class air fare it’s still cheaper!!

Dr.gary linkov could you possibly do a video on which hair transplant clinics to visit in your opinion if possible thanks

Three questions for you Doc
1. Where are you located?
2. How much do your transplants cost on average?
3. Why don't you have hair if your a hair transplant surgeon?
Is it me or did you grow some eyebrows? Looks nice
There's good hair doctors there but it's a bit of a maze sifting through everything - who's good, who's not, who's licensed, who's not, who's my doctor, how many other patients will be there, etc. etc.

everything is the US is a scam..they dont give a fuk about anyone..
Thank you, Dr. Linkov. Your content is very informative!
The 55 yr old losing his hair made his hair loss more rapid with his use of steroids. He should be aware of that going forward or he could end up with a very patchy situation in the future, obviously needs to be on and stay on finasteride.
I like a bald head myself. It can go lovely with a beard sometimes to.
@@kingssing Agreed, but the reason it's so cheap there is more so because of the exchange rate.
Turkey teeth?!?!?!?!
