I wasn't going to spend any money at all but I forgot what made Warframe fun for me was playing a frame that I actually wanted to play that made farming everything else so much more fun. So my plan is to just outright by the character that I want to play just the turret guy and then buying any useful starter boost items pretty much just potatoes and forma( this game's version of that) and depending on the price of a skin for the character that I want and probably the battle pass but I'm not too keen on the battle pass besides all the freebies I get
As a casual person, I don't agree on the battle pass value. For someone that is casual you have to put a lot of time into to get the rewards that you essentially paid for, it can happen that you don't get everything which means the value of the BP just goes down. You haven't included the premium ultimate in your chart.
@@stankworm9982 its the same apart from the dyes and the fact you cant trade the premium currency. so you saying its not at all comparable is abit far fetched
I agree but what’s happening is so called “whales” who buy the micro currencies by spending thousands of dollars are creating a gaming world where the game creators are solely marketing the extremely high price of these premium currencies to a small % of people the “whales” so they make way more money vs having low costs that benefit the actual majority of the gaming community. Which at this point it’s not about the players it’s about the money which I get it we all want to make money but it gets to a point where it’s a fine line between making money and ripping people off, but legally
If you want things to be done fast: 1. Swipe for Ult bunny - the 3k caliber one not 5k one. - bunny is the fastest mobber in this game and a decent bosser. 2. Use 1 potato on ult bunny and 1 on thundercage - at some point game will give you 2 potatos for free. 3. Mod ult bunny and thundercage and use formas on both to fit even more mods - fully and properly moded thundercage is very good 4. Farm for Enzo - he will allow you to get more mats required to craft potatos an formas. At the endgame if you are not using Enzo, your are griefing yourself. 5. For minmaxing you can get Gley and Sharen. 6. Imo battlepass is only worth for boosters - otherwise is trash 7. Have fun
Some of the money aspects are priced too high, especially compared to Warframe where similar items are 1/3rd or even 1/5th of the cost while giving the same effect. I'd also like to see an option between €20 and €50, since it's such a leap with nothing to bridge it.
If I play enough to level up the battlepass to 100 I may buy it, but theres not really much in it other than materials that are worth it to me. Games like this I usually just play until I hit a wall and then stop .. 🤷
I'm not fully convinced. Why other content creators saying that item included in the battle pass is pretty terrible and not things you should be spending money on in the first place. I don't really want to look at monetary value. I want to know what's most important to me as player / necessary to progress into more content and ect. Maybe a better metric would "time saved per dollar" where time saved is how long it would take to grind said item as a free to play player.
Got ultimate bunny. No grind EZ, but actually wanted the skin that comes with, also got the ultimate skin too. Imma buy the rest of the ultimates when im done working on bunny
Pretty popr battle pass but still worth £7 or so. Nice to know about thst free currency for completing challenges, ill need to check that part of the store.
I'm spending money on Girls esthetics! Nothing more! Convenience is not a factor! It goes against what the type of game it is! It's a grinder! This is Unreal Engine 5, and I've never seen this kind of graphics that looks this good! I'll pay to make this look as good as possible!
Nice video. I’m curious how this game progresses because none of the monetary stuff seems that predatory. The model is very similar to warframe’s model and the wait time is a lot nicer vs warframe’s 3 day wait. So far I think the best things to buy are slots and boosters.
I am currently a little over 20 hours in and I have to say it’s not looking so great. The farming system is EXTREMELY slow and unrewarding. I spent one whole hour getting one spiral component for Freyna, which was 20%. I also spent 13 hours to get 1 Ultimate component. I might drop this game just because of how unrewarding it is
Can´t compare this monetization to Warframe dude XD. Yeah the "Style" is similar, but the prices are waaaay bigger here. To start, you can get up to 75% discount on warframes plat, wich makes 10$ in warframe equivalent to 50ish$ here. Second, the value of the Platinum is higher. In warframe you spend 4.5$ and can get 3 items that doubles your mod capacity, here each one is 5$ per. Third, In Warframe the battlepass is free for everyone, with all rewards and shop items, not paying for more loot. And, imo, 100$ for an ultimate and a couple cosmetics its rdiculously outrageous XD. Oh, and if i´m not mistaken ( Can´t say for sure cause you cant "paint" the base skin, witch its ridiculous XD ), paints for skins are a 1 time use. All Said, the game is fun, and i don´t mind the grinding ( Even tho some % are crearly made for you to pay up, cause 0.5% chance in some items is ridiculous ) thats for sure, and yeah, the crafting timers are a godsend for someone that has been playing warframe for 11 years XD.
@@carbagehealth True to that, it has become so obvius to me that I can just farm a couple items and sell them that i didn´t even remember it. It´s like second nature to warframe at this point XD
Tbh the best value for the battle pass would be to give back exact 500 calibre at least from the bp else if you want all the battle passes done you have to shell out 200 calibre every season that is if you don't buy anything else from the shop... the game is fun to play don't get me wrong but there is absolutely nothing that f2p players get except all the content not a single skin... at least they could've given a way to earn calibre in-game or a trade system like warframe has or some skins exclusively for like 4-5 million normal in-game currency I don't see this game to retain players in the long run
They did say that you'll be able to farm certain skins but some will remain in shop exclusives as most of the people who are spending money spend money on the obvious sex trap descendents I would imagine most things from shop would be like the school outfit for bunny that just makes it so you can see her underwear I'm fine with not being able to grind that
i’m curious if the price of the ultimate descendants package will drop if i grind for the descendants i’m not paying $60 for it but i do like the skins
No. The ultimate descendants are separate descendants from the regular version. So unlocking Bunny by the small grind does not make Ultimate Bunny cheaper because you already have Bunny unlocked. Ultimate Bunny is considered a separate descendant from its regular counterpart and you will have to level it up separately as you would any other descendant
pay to progress is insane in this game I wont spend a single dime id rather play casually and grind the game the right way it’ll feel more rewarding it’s exactly how I play clash of clans when I used to pay lol
I was hoping to find out how those descendant packages work. Can you choose a descendant from that category or do you get a random one from that category?
I still think this game is very expensive and on top of that, the prices are not regionalized. So you will be paying the same whether you are from Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, the US, Canada, etc... so if you are from a 3rd world country with a horrible dollar to your local currency conversion rate, you are out of luck.
Wish your video was more infotmative, if you grind the ultimate characters, you gain a proporcional discount on their premium packs, making the exclusive skins+catalisador cheaper, catalisator is one of the hardest things to grind, buying sharen and Ezio upfront is whorth too, they make some grinds easier
The premium ultimate bundle wasn't worth it to me, because the backpack and spawn were not useful and you can get the consumables separately for what amounts to less than the difference. I also didn't need them at the time, so that was a factor as well. Good video though.
Was thinking the same thing. Do you know if the premium one comes with activator and catalysts already equipped? Or do you have to reach level 40 still to use them?
Great video, pretty much answered all my questions. Subscribed! On what do you guys use the 300 caliber, that you get back after finishing the battle pass?
Exactly! The BP is the biggest waste, really nothing of value not even 1 Char skin. Just items to keep the treadmill running. Horrible video for a predatory game.
I’ve been F2P but I need more character slots and was thinking of getting a few preset slots. Is there a pack or bundle or thing you recommend buying to get these most efficiently?
I typically range between a shark to whale. My issue here is the prices are prohibitively expensive, 10x what they should be... 500 for max inventory? Sure got ult gley but checking other things, I'm just not interested. Double mod slots, What 30 bucks? The game is set up so you don't even need but your best items, I'd find it hard have 50 items a month from now. I can swe them greed an nerf resource drop rares but again so many components I don't see ever feeling like I need to cash shop them.
You are the reason why modern gaming sucks, your the reason why cosmetics are DLC instead of in game rewards like they should be, I would totally pay for a $60 version of this with everything included, but as it is now it's unplayable
@mathewhosier9739 people like me are the only reason you can sit on your high horse playing a game that is absolutely free, and everything is unlockable...in warframe you can unlock thousands of cosmetics, warframes, upgrades, etc everything outside of tennogen absolutely f2p. If this game was 60 bucks the player base would be but a fraction of its size...it wouldn't be live service, there wouldn't be seasonal updates, it get the two dlc treatment and in about 2 or 3 years we'd get part 2 if it even was a huge success, then we'd get so many parts that it dies. People like me are why warframe went from 4 or 5 warframes, and a handful of maps, to over 100 warframes, close to 1000 weapons, dozens of game modes, open world planets, storyline after storyline...no cost to the f2p to enjoy. People like you are to blame for why the average triple a title is lacking severely. You expect every game to be baldurs gate 3. You want gaming companies to not enjoy the profits of getting it right, you want non profit video game companies who reinvest all the money earned for their hardwork and efforts for the original title, to go back into the game to create more and more content... Baldurs gate ain't getting dlc...how many did Skyrim have? Oblivion? How about the base game of any gta game? The entire souls series? Excuse me and other for hating episodic game releases...yearly sports titles instead of just their online versions that get updated and keep all the features... yearly call pf duties... I am saying I am not whaling on this game because it feels like they are demanding I do, instead of earning it. I've bought every single prime access in warframe for nearly 10 years. For 100 bucks i should have gotten ult gley, 5000 caliber, ability to double to mod capacity of 3 weapons, and an exp up for weapons and descendants, gold, and drop rates for a month. What does that do here? Give you 5k premium currency... They could have gotten me for every single ultimate if that was the case...so instead of thousands from me over the next 5 to 10 years... they got 100 and I highly doubt I spend much more than that... I'll battle pass for sure...but that's about it.
Modern gaming at the scale it is now wouldn't exist without an effective monitization model. It's a free game, and you can play and grind for whatever you want. If you're broke, grind the game. If you don't want to grind the game, grind in real life. Either way, you're grinding. Stop crying.
I spent $20 just to get one Descendant. I really wanted Yujin and Jayber since I like support characters more so I just wanted them right away, since it seems like so far I've only unlocked one extra character and have to go through the story to find specific things to get more
Almost 10 times the value? For intangible digital stuff that will vanish when nexon shuts the game down early? 10 times zero is still zero, which is fine for some games, but it sinks more into the negative value with nexon.
The vast majority of the bad reviews are because of the monetization. It’s a F2P game. Nobody is going to make a game to not make money. I’m not trying to defend Nexon, but in my eyes the monetization is only a problem for those that can’t control their wallet. You can, quite literally, get everything in the game through just grinding (minus the extra slots if you are unlocking every descendant). Are the predatory micro-transactions bad? Yes. Just don’t spend the money on it and enjoy the game. Once you get away from being sour about the micro-transactions you’ll have a lot more fun.
@@Hoodie412 would that mean losing them permanently? There’s really no explanation on the slots that I can find and I’ve got viessa and bunny atm. I want to invest in one more but kind of not sure what I need to buy to not lose out lol
I bought Ult Gley vs Viessa just because exclusive skin vs slots vs crimson makeup for Sharen. I may buy maid combo but i will not suggest anyone doing the same. The price tag is extremely high. Nexon definitely smoke weeds when they decide prictag. I grind my @ss for extra shifts just to waste it for fan service and yes, i alway asked myself is it worth my check.
More like pay for convenience, cuz all it does is eliminate the grind. You can unlock everything by playing, so if you pay all it does is get you to the power faster, but ftp players will catch up just grinding🤷♂️
If its purely PVE still pay to win but its a lot less worse kind of Pay to win but it exists on a spectrum for example no matter how you cut it Lost ark has horrendous pay to win system, this game has a capped power I think so its more like of the sense "pay to skip the grind" kind of pay to win rather "pay to get power that none else cant get without spending as much money as you". If the max power is capped and all it does is pay to skip the grind it honestly probably the least bad pay to win to exist in the spectrum (as long its purely PVE speaking)
Purchased the BP. Used M$ points, so i actually spent nothing. Monetization in this game is completely optional and not needed as long as you play the game. Let's keep it a bean, only losers who want everything now buy stuff from the shop. The i want it now mentality lol. The shop is literally useless
How can I use the paint for customize the character? I know in the beta is was simple to just click on the armor you had and change it but now you can't equip or change the color on the basic armor you get? Or how is that now?
What's new? Everyone comparing it to warframe or destiny etc. I don't see the butts in the other games so this game has the advantage to me. Lmao if I'm grinding for hours, I'd like a nice character model to look at.
Feels dejavu like warframe there is prime version like volt and volt prime ember and ember prime etc. they give patience test to players want grinding or take my money "p2w" XD
Like you the only thing i saw value in here was the battle pass. Hell, even buying more Caliber doesnt get you anything extra. from $10-100 the difference in bought platinum is only about 500....so naturally i just bought the $10. Got my pass. I'll wait for hopefully better tho i dont expect it...tho i did hear if you have the ultimates already the bundles are made cheaper so id like to see if thats true. i saw prices of "1400 caliber". Would totally snatch em all up at that price if i had em all.
I'm considering buying Blair and Sharen, maybe Ajax and Valby. I'll likely only buy the 1st too don't really want to spend any money beyond that. I'll see how long the GRIND is as that 20% is really 0.2% then again RNG may be in your favour. Ultimate Lepic (as he's my BOI) and Ultimate Bunny (for cultured reasons 😏😮💨🤤😋🍑🍑) but again i don't need them. But 140 for the two is insane 😝💀💀💀🤮🤮🤮, not justifiable. Definitely won't buy colours ONE TIME CONSUMABLES IS DISGUSTING.
The game starts you off with 10 slots for descendants/ characters there are 14 basic and 5 legendary versions at this time. Since the game is free to play it's basically making you buy extra character slots if you want everything
What are your thoughts on the monetization in The First Descendent?
Pay to Skip, Pay to Advance, Pay to Win mobile game mechanic. Its sad boring game with no purpose on everything!
You literally don’t have to spend a dime and games like destiny 2 are literally pay to win. You get all characters free and your not winning anything, it’s a pve game.

It will be easier for whales to grind the hard content in the game, maybe even as a solo. Free players will have to put a lot more work in and may struggle without at least one whale on the team. Can’t speak for this game but I know games like this
Awesome video - very clear and helpful. Thank you so much
That's an absolute awsome video and realy helpful. Thank you kind sir ❤
Glad it was helpful!
This was an excellent breakdown of the pricing structure, other videos had me making spreadsheets 😂
You haven't included the premium ultimate in your chart.
so apart from the one time use armor dyes, its the same monetization as warframe
Not at all comparable considering Warframe allows player trading for premium currency. Warframe's model is far more player-friendly than TFD.
@@stankworm9982 theyre both the same apart from dyes and premium currency trading bro

If you want things to be done fast:
1. Swipe for Ult bunny - the 3k caliber one not 5k one. - bunny is the fastest mobber in this game and a decent bosser.
2. Use 1 potato on ult bunny and 1 on thundercage - at some point game will give you 2 potatos for free.
3. Mod ult bunny and thundercage and use formas on both to fit even more mods - fully and properly moded thundercage is very good
4. Farm for Enzo - he will allow you to get more mats required to craft potatos an formas. At the endgame if you are not using Enzo, your are griefing yourself.
5. For minmaxing you can get Gley and Sharen.
6. Imo battlepass is only worth for boosters - otherwise is trash
7. Have fun
What are the “potatoes”?
@@mezulu47 It is Energy Activator
@@RozowyPatatajec okay, thank you!
Thanks for the info I'm probably gonna purchase the regular battle pass
Some of the money aspects are priced too high, especially compared to Warframe where similar items are 1/3rd or even 1/5th of the cost while giving the same effect. I'd also like to see an option between €20 and €50, since it's such a leap with nothing to bridge it.
Please keep making these as this game developes, amazing video.
I've watched so many videos but yours actually was informative 👌
Great video.
You said you have a buy code but i cant see it.
I would never pay money for cosmetics, waste of money
buying skins is ok but why buy shit that you can get by playing?
paying not to play the game seems autistic
@@fullmeddljacket8486not everyone has the same amount of time to play and some just don’t like the the end game rng there’s mad reasons
Pretty popr battle pass but still worth £7 or so.
Nice to know about thst free currency for completing challenges, ill need to check that part of the store.
*CORRECTION* Only 5 of the current 10 Descendants have Ultimate versions. As of release ofc.
Slots are such a good feeling QoL add for sure!

Are you saying that F2P will quit because they can't get skins, or that paid player will quit because they can't sell skins?
They did say that you'll be able to farm certain skins but some will remain in shop exclusives as most of the people who are spending money spend money on the obvious sex trap descendents I would imagine most things from shop would be like the school outfit for bunny that just makes it so you can see her underwear I'm fine with not being able to grind that
This breakdown is awesome thank you ❤
i’m curious if the price of the ultimate descendants package will drop if i grind for the descendants i’m not paying $60 for it but i do like the skins
Most battle passes on other games operate the same as this one with the free stuff
If this comment gets at least 10 likes I’ll buy the ultimate gley bundle
Do it
bought it and it's awesome
Note with the battle pass… I’ve spent 17 hours and had 17 tiers of the battle pass… you’d have to spend roughly 100 hours to get to tier 100
He is not wronglol
Took me about 80 hours, so yeah, your not far off.
Lol did u guys do the season challenges? Just finishing the story got me from tier 50 something to 80
@@UFCWWE69 Yeah, that is why it only took about 80ish hours, due to the season challenge stuff I managed to complete. I think I am up to like 110 now.
I didn't see the challenge section in Battle Pass. I will definitely check that thanks
I think only the battle pass is worth it if you play it a decent amount of time and you might get some credits to get some kind of skin
@kevinherronjr3998 not sure, I haven't bought a premium yet
If you buy the descendant do yo get it out-right. Or do you still need to farm some kind of currency/blueprints for it?
You get them outright.
you can grind them no matter what BUT the whole point of spending money to get them is to basically get them quicker compared to the grind time.
Great video, pretty much answered all my questions. Subscribed!
On what do you guys use the 300 caliber, that you get back after finishing the battle pass?
To be honest I would save it for the next battle pass
Awesome vid! Ty for putting time into mathing the best value for players
Do not spend 1 cent on that game The grind is too long and the price is too high the game should sink
In the battlepass you have valued the cosmetics I guess? So if I only care about mechanics, how much should I cut the battlepass in? like 1/4 ?
Exactly! The BP is the biggest waste, really nothing of value not even 1 Char skin. Just items to keep the treadmill running. Horrible video for a predatory game.
Best explanation video I’ve ever seen
I’ve been F2P but I need more character slots and was thinking of getting a few preset slots. Is there a pack or bundle or thing you recommend buying to get these most efficiently?
Awesome breakdown man. This video was great!
What are your thoughts on the new ultimate Valby ?
Stop crying.

whats ur opinion on Jayber?
Almost 10 times the value? For intangible digital stuff that will vanish when nexon shuts the game down early? 10 times zero is still zero, which is fine for some games, but it sinks more into the negative value with nexon.
I think I will buy battle pass and some of the ultimate bundles because of the skins.

If I buy the Battle Pass later, I unlock the previous items, right?
Yep
I saw earlier TH-camr got ultimate bundle with discounted price ..where to get the same ? All items are full price
What's the gamer code and what is it for?

I bought Ult Gley vs Viessa just because exclusive skin vs slots vs crimson makeup for Sharen. I may buy maid combo but i will not suggest anyone doing the same. The price tag is extremely high. Nexon definitely smoke weeds when they decide prictag. I grind my @ss for extra shifts just to waste it for fan service and yes, i alway asked myself is it worth my check.
Is it smart to buy descendants?
How is it play to win if you aren’t competing against anyone? Wouldn’t it be pay for power?

How’s about some in game credit giveaway?! ❤

What is a descendant slot
The game starts you off with 10 slots for descendants/ characters there are 14 basic and 5 legendary versions at this time. Since the game is free to play it's basically making you buy extra character slots if you want everything
