Great that you had good experiences with Cleto Reyes so far. I wish I could say the same but they have been sending me poor quality control gloves lately...
I am the first!! I saw from another youtuber said the new Safetec has no Safetec label so that way they don't look "soft", but I think the padding are the same for sure.
Nope, i from mexico and i just got my pair a month ago and both have the label on the thumb, i ordered from the site, the horsehair foam model doesnt have it

Im kind of late to the discussion but for some reason in the description for these gloves on the cleto reyes website it says that you can use them for sparring. I dont know if they meant to type that or if someone there might be a little behind the pack if you know what im saying but what are your thoughts on it?
I wonder if anyone actually goes into a pro fight with these? I also wonder why Reyes doesn't make an all foam punchers pro fight glove... or at least a horsehair-foam blend? Their traditional fight gloves are all horsehair. Check out Reyes' yt page and watch their manufacturing video. In a pro fight, I'm thinking of just using Winning. My hands are ehhh and I hit pretty hard. I don't like Grant's hard foam. I'm not a fan of Everlast Powerlocks as you can't open your hand easily. I have never used Rival or Venum and I don't have enough time to try them or get used to them. IMO, horsehair feels broken in almost instantly and causes damage to your opponent because you're basically punching with your wrap. Even fully stuffed Reyes are nowhere near as stuffed in the days of old. I think HH should be banned honestly. It's a piece of boxing's past that should have been left behind long ago. A punch with good technique and accuracy will KO an opponent easily. Naoya Inoue fooled himself into believing that Winning gloves prevented him from KOing Donaire in their first fight. 3 years later, an even older Donaire gets finished within 2 rounds while using Reyes. Naoya incorrectly credits the gloves and fails to recognise he's more mature and stronger while age continued to deplete Donaire. I doubt he'll re-evaluate the Reyes' after it took 11 rounds to finish the very inferior Butler... who was running a lot, granted but Butler took A TON of shots. Foam gloves were never Inoue's problem; he needed to cut Butler off into the corner and or create an opening using things like traps and peels. In short, HH will allow you to inflict more damage (but at great risk to your hands) and an accurate, well timed and place punch will get you your KO.
i tried using these to hit the heavy bag, forget it there is not enough foam as you mentioned they should only be used for speed shots on a heavy bag and not power shots if that for sure.,im a very heavy handed fighter and i hate feeling my knuckles hit my opponents i feel like my hand is going to break.i train with 18 oz gloves reyes when i put these on for mitt work my hands were lightning fast do to me working out with 18 oz gloves, but even hitting mitts i felt that they could have used a bit more foam.

Curious how are they holding up? Few people said they become useless in a few months? More of the lining inside tearing or the padding not being durable.
Love the review! I recently switched my main training glove to a Fly 16oz which I’m loving, except for on the mitts as I feel they lack feedback. Would you recommend the safetec and lighter glove to use regularly for mitt/bag work?

Also does the safetec bounce back after hitting something like their hook and loop training gloves ?

Aside from support, it's easy to skin your knuckles inside gloves without wearing hands wraps. These Safetecs are literally the Reyes professional fight glove filled with foam rather than horsehair. Pro fight gloves aren't known to be very supportive because it's a given you'll have professionally wrapped hands and the laces/ wrist will be tapped over... so no, they're not supportive in that sense.
