Extra Pro-tip: If you find the day is ending too soon and you couldn't do everything you wanted, you can turn down the game speed to half. This will make the in-game time go by at half-speed (2 IRL seconds = 1 in-game minute). If you then want to just wait for a craft to finish, you can turn the speed back up, and then back when it's complete. Early Money Tip: Fishing is a cash-cow. Fish by the waterfall and get Goliaths. Sell them on 100%+ days for mad cash. For more efficiency, get the Identify Fish skill ASAP so you can only fish up what you want. This can be a huge boost of cash early game, allowing you to upgrade your land easier.
actually fishing and when you have enough king fish breeding them in at least 5 aquariums is a better one for just money its at least 3-5k a day without even doing anything
@@FoodThenGames Me: Oh wow, I have 250 carbon steel bars in my inventory! That should last me the week! Me the next day: I have...10 carbon steel bars in my inventory. wtf... [searches for the thief!]
@@LtBasil You're totally right! But then once you get the factory, you're back to making bars again. I freaking hate that. Why can't the factory be as efficient as the comprehensive cutters I have installed in it??
The most vital tip in this game that will actually save people a tonne of time is that clicking the sort all button puts everything in your inventory away as long as it has a stack it can be added to in the storage. That is absolutely vital and something I didn't discover until my second day playing. Also if the mission you picked up from the board isn't called "commerce mission" you can pick up more missions. You can only pick up one commerce mission a day and only do one of those at a time. You can pick up one of every other class of mission at a time though. So you can have an A, B and C class mission going simultaneously as long as two out of three aren't commerce missions.
I always try and leave at least one of an item rather than grabbing the whole stack. It is much faster than having to go and find the box in belongs in
Another tip: Build the comprehensive grinder and comprehensive cutter as soon as you get the diagrams for them. Those machines are SO helpful. They make items from the raw materials rather than the smelted bars (for example, the comp. cutter uses iron ore and wood to make steel plates rather than carbon steel). Not only does this speed up the process of making grinder and cutter products, it also makes it so you don't eat up furnace products nearly as fast, letting you save them for worktable and assembly station recipes.
For all you console players, from what I’ve seen, every Friday in the game, a better commission is put out that gives quite a bit more rep points and money than your normal commission, good for all those people trying to beat higgins
I know this is a bit late to comment, but still going to.. IF you are just starting out, I would strongly suggest do some fishing to get some gols, and as soon as you can buy a massage chair from the furniture guy in town. You will be able to restore your stamina fairly quickly with that chair so that you can do 3ish bars worth of stamina activities a day. This is excellent at early game, mid to late game it isn't as important due to having more items available to you for restoring stamina/health through cooking, and just letting things like apples dry on a rack/gotten through dungeons. Normally I would say buy low, and sell high but for this chair I am usually selling my fish and immediately turning around and buying the chair same day. I find it is that useful to not worry about a few gols that you can get more of by doing things (commissions, fishing, farming, crafting, etc). Also not doing the main quest definitely allows you to catch your breath, and get ahead. There is no rush, so don't worry about finishing those non timed quests quickly. I know I've been holding on to them till thursday's so that if something gets posted on the commissions board I get to get them without having to worry about higgens stealing my extra commissions. (this comes in handy when working to get the 5 deedee achievement.) Take your time, look at the perks for having a relation level with each of the town folks. Prioritize the ones you feel will benefit you the most. My current play through I am working to get the whole town BFF's with me (sigh that is everyone max bars). I found through crafting and cooking you can usually make something for everyone fairly easily. I also played when it was more in beta(even then it was more refined then most early access games), so my play time is kind of wonky at 370+ hours. So yea massage chair, it was a game changer for me.
i remember having one WHOLE SEASON getting my charcoal and carbon steel stocked and it really helps with the end game mission. but note that the process will be quite overwhelming (e.g.: for charcoal i'm gonna have to cut trees EVERYDAY, and for the ores i'll mine for the whole week after i've paid the entrance fee). Planning is definitely one of this game's best strategy but idk, some people find relaxed gameplay is more enjoyable.

getting apple trees at your workshop is pretty useful. get tons of apples and use both aroma apples and regular apples to make a lot of dried apples at the dry stand thing. Thank you for this! I didn’t realize you can lose relationship points if you don’t complete a timed mission related to a character. Does anyone happen to know how many points you lose in this case?
Hi, I have a silly question here, I know that this game is a casual game playing at our own pace but, is there like a limit at all? for example if I just want to be in game, running around exploring, enjoying nature looking at the graphics and socializing all day long etc, you know just casually doing stuff slowly, is there like a limit of time maybe like, Losing something or failing something because didn't do things fast or within set amount of time (Except for the timed ones) or is the game progress only when I want it to, say, seriously doing all the work only after year? - I Just found out about this game, bought it and Loving it so much, been wanting a modern 3D with Voices Harvest Moon with Botw gameplay and graphics for so long.
Certain quests like that intro one to building the bridge to amber island and ones like that that don’t have a timer you can totally take your time doing! The main story won’t progress until you finish it so you can spend time doing other things before moving the story along!
@@FoodThenGames Edit to my comment the Game Speed thing DOES exist in my ps4 version and I dunno how I never figured it out sooner it makes things SO MUCH EASIER when I'm not rushing to finish stuff!!
I have a question. I failed a request, it was the one Dr. Xu asked me to get like 10 of these plants to help with some of the people’s sickness. Does this affect the people or the town?
I believe you've lost points with both the town + Dr. Xu and you didn't get the smol follow up quest with the nurse after but you didn't mess anything up main story wise!
@@demondog9482 How is it tedious? Most of the main quests arent even timed and even the ones that are give you loads of time to finish, and materials are also easy to gather as well as the equipment is easy to make. :/
I was considering to buy this game. Now im gonna buy it. Thanks for the helpfull video! And a little question, if i dont complete a quest does it come later and do i lose some relationship points?
if you don't complete a side quest or a commission I don't believe it comes back -- a lot of main story missions aren't timed so you should be okay in that regard but I'd still keep an eye on the timer for a lot of it -- if you don't complete something that's timed you'll loose points with both that person and the town!
Here’s a question to ya. It is: Like how can i get to the 2 treasure chests that’s on the top of the wall, but they are at the entrance of the city? Cuz i really wanna know how to get to that, cuz those are very hard to get to. Please help me.!
So when you first start the game you use the chest on the wall you can climb on without much effort and jump on the chest to walk accross to the other 2.
@@Designer239 no the chest over by the cafe if you didn't collect the one on the wall by the cafe you use it to jump onto the roof its next too and cross over to the other chest
Kat stephens Thanks for letting me know about that first chest. But what should i do for getting to the second one, that’s more over to the blue roof wall? But I’m gonna try out that first one out and I’ll let you know if i got it or not.
Kat stephens I have tried to find that chest over by the cafe, jus like you said but i jus can’t find it. But is it the stacked up boxes? To me its a little too hard to find it. But unless if you mean the chest that’s on the balcony from another building is it? I’m clueless!

Good stuff thanks.
I might try this game.. its currently available on ps4/ps5 ps+ extra library
Does anyone know where to find the blueberries and blackberries in the game?
3:32 Where are all the clothes from?
They're DLC!
the only sad part about it they don't update the console version.
I want to know where you got that shirt your character wears from!
It's from the DLC you can purchase!
@@FoodThenGames thank you! Unfortunately this dlc isn’t on the switch :/
Where did you get your outfit? Are you on pc or gaming console?
PC! And it's the dlc outfit! I talk about it more in detail in my Portia Let's Play!
Why does this game have a slight white blur over everything..
I loved this channel, lucky I found it.
Also donate to the kickstarter for the second game
thank you so much the chests tip blew my mind i feel so dumb for opening 300 chests a day lmaoooo
Literally
Just downloaded this game, and I like it. A whole heck of a lot.
are these game tips compatible with the PS4 version of MTaP or exclusive only to Console/PC then?
I honestly have no idea, I've only played Portia on PC!
@@FoodThenGames Edit to my comment the Game Speed thing DOES exist in my ps4 version and I dunno how I never figured it out sooner it makes things SO MUCH EASIER when I'm not rushing to finish stuff!!
Thanks for those tips.
@@FoodThenGames aw, still sucks. I wish the game would've told me where to get the plant. Thank you tho!
That radio voice thou.
I got it for black Friday today! I've been on and off about buying it and it was 10$ so I finally bought it lmao
What system are you playing this on? It looks crisp 😊
I play on PC!
What kind of game is this exactly?
3D stardew valley
@rez its alot like stardew valley but much more tedious. However if you like stardew valley i would highly recommend it
@@demondog9482 How is it tedious? Most of the main quests arent even timed and even the ones that are give you loads of time to finish, and materials are also easy to gather as well as the equipment is easy to make. :/
@shadow its probably just my game style, but i took alot of commissions that i had no way of doing . Idk its still a quality game
Like an rpg Type game, it’s good if you like collecting stuff and building stuff
Fyi all: PS4 currently has a 75% OFF sale on base game and 50% OFF on add on. I started 1st time playing a few hrs ago.
Learn to fish and get good at it. The amount of money you can make is insane.
Thanks 😊
How did you get that shirt??
It's from the DLC for player outfits! I believe I showed off most of the outfits in the first episode of my Portia let's play!
Here’s a question to ya.
It is:
Like how can i get to the 2 treasure chests that’s on the top of the wall, but they are at the entrance of the city?
Cuz i really wanna know how to get to that, cuz those are very hard to get to.
Please help me.!
So when you first start the game you use the chest on the wall you can climb on without much effort and jump on the chest to walk accross to the other 2.
Kat stephens
Do you mean the stacked up barrels?
Cuz if so, then i have tried that many multiple times now.
And i jus can’t get to the first one.
@@Designer239 no the chest over by the cafe if you didn't collect the one on the wall by the cafe you use it to jump onto the roof its next too and cross over to the other chest
Kat stephens
Thanks for letting me know about that first chest.
But what should i do for getting to the second one, that’s more over to the blue roof wall?
But I’m gonna try out that first one out and I’ll let you know if i got it or not.
Kat stephens
I have tried to find that chest over by the cafe, jus like you said but i jus can’t find it.
But is it the stacked up boxes?
To me its a little too hard to find it.
But unless if you mean the chest that’s on the balcony from another building is it?
I’m clueless!
I’d seen videos of this and it looked really cool completely forgot about it till I saw they’d put it as this months free game on PlayStation plus
Is the saints armor on the switch or no?
I have no idea -- I play PC only!
Ive been playing this game on my phone. Over 100 hours
Can anything be sold to the mysterious man?
I don't believe so!
