    Great video! Definitely thinking of getting one of those. Question: two hours later when you pulled it out to start eating, was the chicken 165 degrees Fahrenheit in the center? Just wondering if it takes it two hours to get to that temperature for the chicken. Thank you. Again, great video. Cheers! 😊

      Hi Nick, thee GoSun works great. I use mine a lot when out camping now. The chicken temperature was 92 deg C, thats well over the 165 F. It was cooked perfect....

      I was impressed with it.
      Could become one of my camp favourites with a bit of practice.

    Perfect, could be a lot better though if they do something to make it easier to clean the inside part on the glass tube.

      I didn't show it, but it does come with a kind of wire metal scouring brush to clean it....

      Thanks Dean,
      The cooker really worked well eh - I use it quite a bit now.

    How do you clean inside the tube??

    • @TheWrinklyNomads
      @TheWrinklyNomads  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I didn't show this on the video, but you get a soft wire brush ring that attaches to the end of the food tray and you can then clean the inside by sliding the tray in and out.
      Works fine.

      UK Preppers Guide That sounds great. No one seems to have vids showing the cleaning process, you should make one. Thanks and have a great day.

    the largest profit margins is apparently this companys (gosun) goal, you can purchase these same kind of vaccume tube solar cookers over seas for 1/4 of the price. To bad they dont sell for a modest profit margine, it would be much more popular here is the states and greatly impact the enviorment positivly, shame profit seems to be the bigest drive for this company showing they are money driven over environmentally driven.

      @TheWrinklyNomads  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I can't really comment on that one John....
      As I have no idea of their price margin. However, regardless of cost, it does work, and works very well.
      I find I use mine quite a lot, and produce some very nice meals with very little effort.
      Each to their own I suppose. All the best, Steve

      It is available world wide...
      As for well cooked, that's up to you.
      The meal I cooked in the video was delicious, and I've done many more since then, that have all turned out perfect.
      It's a great bit of kit.

    I tired to cook in the almost cloudy day it does not do well. I tried cloudy day cooking even with the sun way up behind the clouds it only heated up to 154 degrees, not hot enough to do much. ..... Update: after3 hours it went to 182

    • @TheWrinklyNomads

      With the right conditions it works very well indeed.
      I think a meat probe is essential though..!!!!

    hello love your video 😀 question how many hot dogs are sausages can you fit in this one??? 😶

    • @TheWrinklyNomads
      @TheWrinklyNomads  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, I;m not too sure as Ive never tried that...
      The cooking tray is about 2 feet long, and 2" wide, so I would say at least 12 sausages quite easily.

    • @TheWrinklyNomads

      Yes I thought that as well until I tested it...!
      I have used it many times now, on sunny and non sunny days, and it still works ok.
      Because it is enclosed, theres no heat escaping, it only gets hotter, and it cooks everything in its own juices, keeping it tender, so leaving it in low sunlight isn't a problem, just take a bit longer.

    • @priestesslucy
      @priestesslucy 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TheWrinklyNomads Does that include those *thick* overcast days where you can hardly see your own shadow?
      Say stick it out in the sun's path at 8 in the morning and have dinner cooked by 4?

    • @urbnctrl
      @urbnctrl 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@priestesslucy yes! It will take less than that. But probably 2 to 3 hours should still be enough to build up the proper temperature to cook chicken. On a sunny day it would take 45 to 60 mins. Important is that you refrain from checking in between as much as possible on cloudy days because the heat escapes as soon as you open it up and has to rebuild.
