Unfortunately for me, snowy weather is a complete impossibility (I live in Australia). Here in Brisbane our "winter" is roughly 1 week long and sometimes the sun still manages to shine so bright that I find myself sweating like a pig in the middle of June (our winter period)
@@Mmksen289 goodwill I've found really hit and miss as well... though it's really cheap and sometimes I'll find something. I especially like that I can pick up different ties for $2 a piece. I've had a lot of luck online with Poshmark and eBay if I'm looking for something specific, though they didn't tend to be as cheap as goodwill. Lots of great stuff on there though, and you can haggle on the price (offer what you want to pay, they might accept it). One thing I've found helpful if keeping a list of the things I'd like to find. That way when I'm thrifting I can quickly sort through stuff without getting distracted and buying stuff I wasn't looking for lol.
Love Japanese denim. Japan in general has such amazing, talented, and creative people. All the rich and colorful fabrics tweeds, flannels, wools, denims are some of my favorites as well.
I just watched Quest for Fire, a movie from 1981 about early man's struggle to survive 80,000 years ago. It completely puts male/female relationships into perspective. There was no complicated wardrobe & trends to keep up with. It was oh so simple. Is it any wonder loneliness, isolation & suicide are so prevalent in today's world?
Before I click this video, I've already expected what will pop up because I watched almost all of your previous fashion contents (Always like before watch). Last week I bought my first pair of boots, first cashmere turtleneck and crewneck, first dark denim, and first wood/spicy fragrance, all matched ;). I bought my first wool overcoat and first wool trousers from vintage shop way before Thanksgiving. I really appeciate your channel to help me grow from zero to now and I would love to see your channel growing. 1 million subscribers is coming soon.
Another winner, Courtney! I love your classic style recommendations especially. I can get in the ballpark stylistically, but you bring it all together in a way that's accessible & straightforward. I wrote down a few must-haves. Your channel is like having a personal shopper & big sister, I really thank you for helping me with my style!
One of the more recent fashion trends I struggle with is pants or jeans at or just above ankle height. Maybe I am too old or maybe the Texan in me but I just… yeah.
I asked a girl out today for the first time in years. I got rejected but I'm fine. Once the initial sting wore off I feel much better for it. I've got your channel to thank for even asking her out. Thanks Courtney!
I have a very expensive wool overcoat. It cost me 6 years of my life while living on a submarine, destroyed knees and back, and a gave me a dark sense of humor. I recommend just going to the store and buying one.
I love your fashion videos. There is one thing that was missing for me, however... headgear! My ears get very cold even in October. What headwear (that covers ears, it's a must for me) would you recommend to pair with a trench coat in autumn and wool coat during winter?
Courtney, I appreciate the video. I hope you get to put together a video that reflects all seasons. Yes, I want to dress but I also want to prioritize savings.
lol okay Courtney you successfully immunized yourself from my “you make the same videos over and over” comment. I really respect that you read hear and remember our comments. Great video
Your quality of video is really good and I'm not talking only about the video quality bus especially about you giving the links etc... I'm definitely one of the fans of quality over quantity. Thank you
I think fragrances/colognes are a good topic for yearly updates. Unlike style that might not change as much some cologne's aren't always available. While, generally, they may have the same notes, perhaps there is a new cologne that is received well and fits the season. Like dark or amber colored colognes are typically meant for winter due to their stronger scents that don't require as much body heat. And lighter colored for summer. Assuming you are applying it correctly on heat points and not mixed with Vaseline or on your clothes. So they might have similar scents like oud, cedar, bourbon etc. but specific colognes may not be available anymore. Only thing is cologne is expensive especially trying enough out to give advice on it would require a lot more commitment or focus, I feel.
I wait for your fall/winter wardrobe staples videos every year. I'm thinking about investing in a good wool overcoat and a pair of Chelsea boots this time. Also, nothing screams elegance for a man more than a pair of chic leather gloves during winters.
In the winter, I use a 'cologne lotion'; it not only helps with the dryness of winter but has scents very suited to the time of year - Leather, Tobacco, and Bourbon. In summer, I like L'eau D'issey Pour Homme by Issey Miyake.
Here in Portugal, we do have Salsa, "Parsley", which is kind of expensive, but still one of the best in the market. Definitely, I do want to dress up in an informal/young style.
Thank you, Courtney, for another year of fantastic content! Very best wishes to you and the Mr. for a Merry Christmas and happy, prosperous new year, I'm sure we're all looking forward to what 2025 will bring.
Winter fashion is my favorite. Usually my uniform this time of year will be a peacoat over a turtleneck sweater, black or dark denim blue jeans, boots (from Thursday’s), and I finish it off with a pair of gloves. Sometimes I add a chunky knit scarf. My outfits do draw compliments which definitely takes me out of my comfort zone as an introvert. 😅 This year I finally made the jump from cloth gloves to leather and suede gloves. I still wear my cloth gloves for walks and hikes. I’ve been hesitant in the past because I was skeptical of the touchscreen compatibility of leather/suede gloves. If I’m going to spend $50+ on a pair, I don’t want to take them off to use my phone. 😂
Love it! I think they make some gloves that are compatible with touch screens! I totally get that, it’s so annoying to have to take them off every time you pick up your phone lol
@ they do. I found a brand through a fashion influencer from Poland who specialize in making high quality touchscreen friendly gloves. It’s called Napo Gloves and they ship here to North America. I got a leather and suede pair and I love them. Hence why I made the jump. 😂 I’ll DM you their Instagram page on Instagram.
@@CourtneyRyanI thought I replied to you this morning. Looks like the comment didn’t post. Anyway, there are brands that make high quality leather gloves with touchscreen compatibility. 11:48 Pro Tip make your own fragrance. I make my own beard oil for each season. Super easy Jojoba Oil and Extract, say Cedar and Pine for the winter, and Orange for the summer. Super simple..

Between you and Teddy, I'm starting to look sharp. I follow your suggestions, but I have to shop in my budget which isn't much. I also just purchased my first Teddy recommended watch. Hamilton field kaki 38 mm in stainless steel. Had to save up a little while but I have it now. Expanding my wardrobe slowly. A couple of coats, three pairs of dark jeans (wish they were better quality but what are you going to do on a budget) and several solid colored shirts and sweaters for layering. Spent a little more on boots, but I waited for sales (Black and Brown, looking for Burgundy now)Thank you for the suggestions and tips.
I’ve been wearing a felt Stetson, paired with a Wranger denim jacket. With just my regular fit of Wrangler 47 jeans, and Wrancher pearl snap shirt. I’ve gotten so many compliments, not to mention lots of cute girls with their eyes popping out.

These are great choices if your winters don't get to subzero temps. Fellas, worry about not getting frostbite over your style haha. Utility doesn't need to look good if it keeps you warm. Those leather gloves are asking for frostbitten fingers. If anything, this video is more for outfits you could wear inside.
