Great starter car. If all you need is something to get you around town, and from point A to point B, this will do the job, and it's a very economical car in every way: low price point; very fuel efficient to save money on fuel; and repairs and maintenance are relatively cheap, simple and hassle-free. Great city car, but also fine for longer trips and hi-way travel.
Here in the Arabic gulf it is really hard to find a reliable car because of the extreme hell hot weather and the almost broken streets in the outskirts of the cities and villages. Hyundai Accent surprisingly proved itself as a good cheap and reliable car that will do the job with some extra features. It's slowly becoming the most wanted car and in a few years it will surpass the Queens Toyota Corolla and Yaris. It does the job and it's much cheaper. Along side with Elentra and Sonata.
I had a 2013 Hyundai Accent GLS Sport model Bronze with Beige interior, same as you see in this video. I paid like $18,000 for it. It was very fuel efficient and economical, I drove it everywhere even across country to visit family for the holidays. I changed the oil on a regular bases and kept up with its scheduled maintenance, it gave me zero problems. I know it wasn't a sports car by any means, but it was very peppy and drove like a new car to the very end... Unfortunately, just two weeks ago a careless driver was texting and wasn't paying attention, caused a multi-vehicle (4) accident which totaled everyone's cars including my beloved Accent. Sad part is, I only had 2 payments left. I'm gonna miss that car.
Got one a week ago as my first car, I love it. Drives and handles exceptionally well for a $9000 car. Interior is roomy and very soft as well. Wanted a Civic but those are a little pricey for a first car, and older ones aren't as reliable as a newer car (obviously) so I spotted this at a dealer, couldn't be happier. Only thing I plan on changing is the rims, because I think the grey stock rims look goofy with the red exterior. But that's an easy swap and personal preference.
@@_nba_kushboi_2872 if it's in good shape I'd recommend it. I sold mine 3 years ago for a 2016 mustang but my hyundai was super reliable and never had a single issue over the 3 years I owned it.
Wow thanks for answering my request, actually just a few channels answer their comments, so i appreciate a lot your work. I think 4 videos each week would be perfect :)
my insurance company gave me one of these for a month , not a bad car but nothing to get to excited about . i was surprised to see in this video what they cost to buy , not that i would . but it did the job and was glad to return it .
Excuse me guys but didn't you know that the 2014 Honda Odyssey has finally been released only just recently? Please review the Touring Elite trim please! (You know, the one that has the HondaVac!), also if you can, can you get the car in Obsidian Blue Pearl with Gray Interior? Please just try your best to send this request to your Fleet Manager, the world must see the perfection of this car! Oh and please don't forget to mention the HDMI technology, try to give a demonstration of it to please!!!
I'm confused by the fact that this car has a smaller, less powerful engine, and is smaller and lighter than the Elantra. Yet it gets the same gas mileage... wtf?
Hi everyone, this hyundai accent in Peru has 1.4lt motor , do you know the mpg ? Cause I want to decide if to buy a accent or a elantra ( 1.6lt Peru), thanks
Hyundai Accent was the cheapest car that we can find. My 2007 Accent only cost 10K (new). It does not come with A/C, power door/window and the Interior absolutely all made out of cheap plastic ***. Only three things are soft: sets, steering wheel and the tires. However, Hyundai putted every penny on the engine and the Transmission. I putted 130K mile without any replacement. I cannot believe how reliable this is.
+Joe Zhang yeah it comes with ac and i got mine for 11k. it had like 72k miles. probably should have gone down but its still running strong. also did a few engine mods to improve performance. put a k&n air filter in, did a intake resonator delete. new cat back exhaust. and ecu reset. gained 12 hp from stock. and because everything i did was centered around getting more air into the engine my fuel economy has majorly improved. if i drive conservative i can easly get 40 on the highway which is more than they marketed it.
because a car have a lower HP need to keep the RPM high to maintain high way speed, so a tiny engine does not save much gas on high way. My 2007 Accent has to be little above 3k RPM to maintain 80mph, because it only have 110HP
I have this model and mine is a piece of garbage. Speakers stopped working at 8K miles. It handles like a garbage can and skids badly on wet roads. I just now had to replace a lot of the camshaft parts at just 34K miles. The interior confort is laughable. It feels like I'm sitting on a brick with a bathtowel over it.
You are right, but I think the idea is to sort of trick the eye into thinking the car has a decent set of wheels. I hate those covers (and most other covers) too!

+Mineav i have one and i find it best at highway speed.
***** Yeah, these cars are really great all-around, and are one of the best buys on the market, easily.
Great review, I decided to test drive, and will def be my first car purchase I have ever done.
Thanks

Just got a 2017 Hyundai Accent and loving it a lot.

@Brentt Moore, it's rare that I get my hands on a 'base' model, so I'm glad you liked it - Dave

is a 2013 Hyundai accent gls 60k miles good for 10k?

I have an Accent. It gets the job done, plus I'm poor lol and can't afford anything more expensive.

I just got this car yesterday.. I had one before.... they last you long time if you keep up the maintenance....
my insurance company gave me one of these for a month , not a bad car but nothing to get to excited about . i was surprised to see in this video what they cost to buy , not that i would . but it did the job and was glad to return it .
This man is serious about leg day.
@David Pate, I'll reconsider the 0-72 months scale. Personally, that was my favorite - Dave
@view52, I have been mentioning it in my most recent reviews but somehow forgot in this one. Thank you for the reminder - Dave
I used the EMD Ownership Scale during my review of the Nissan Juke NISMO recently... just for you - Dave.
Lack of rear cup holders is a deal breaker for me. Still waiting for Hyundai to address this, hopefully for the 2014 model.
Those calf muscles though
JeLisa Sowels man never skipped leg day lol
thats what braking in a hyundai during the winter does to ya
I like basic, no costly fixes in the future.
How many more would you like? What kind of frequency? - Dave

Great review, thanks!
It was sold in India by the name - Verna
I want an Accent GLS for my first car. :)
My wife got this car and I have to admit... i am a bit jealous. Dealing with a 2003 taurus over here XD
@view52, I forgot. Is that an important feature you look for in a car? - Dave
Hey man keep on! Your reviews aer very good! But upload more videos!
I'm confused by the fact that this car has a smaller, less powerful engine, and is smaller and lighter than the Elantra. Yet it gets the same gas mileage... wtf?
@noduleman, it's weird, I haven't received any KIA's for awhile. I'll put in a request with my fleet manager. Thank you for the request - Dave
@Mcurleyhair, it's not 'my' kind of car but I can appreciate its purpose :-) Dave
yeah im having some calf envy right now. How does he do it? How do you do it dave?
got up to 41mpg on the highway
so you're sayin that ESP, traction control, ABS with EBD and BA and six airbags are STANDARD on this car and not part of a higher trim package ??
Hi everyone, this hyundai accent in Peru has 1.4lt motor , do you know the mpg ? Cause I want to decide if to buy a accent or a elantra ( 1.6lt Peru), thanks
The remote for unlock and lock and such is the same as the one for my 2013 KIA Forte lolz
How can I distinguish between a GS and a GLS? My VIN says it is either. Thanks.
I really like the car... but I do not like the beige grey interior colour combo
@ray britton, training, training, training :-) Dave
Hmm... Good review but you seemed neutral about how you felt about the car?
AND THE POWER OUTLETS DON'T FORGET THOSE EITHER!!!

Ahah I got my new 2013 for 12k
Jennifer Morales does it come with AC?
+Joe Zhang yeah it comes with ac and i got mine for 11k. it had like 72k miles. probably should have gone down but its still running strong. also did a few engine mods to improve performance. put a k&n air filter in, did a intake resonator delete. new cat back exhaust. and ecu reset. gained 12 hp from stock. and because everything i did was centered around getting more air into the engine my fuel economy has majorly improved. if i drive conservative i can easly get 40 on the highway which is more than they marketed it.
Ain't that the truth! Did they run out of 'good' paint? :-) Dave
Love this car low price super good mileage. Drive was solid like a Honda
How do you know what size hubcap to get for this car
Why does the smaller Accent gets lower mpg than the bigger 14 Civic?
because a car have a lower HP need to keep the RPM high to maintain high way speed, so a tiny engine does not save much gas on high way. My 2007 Accent has to be little above 3k RPM to maintain 80mph, because it only have 110HP
I need the automatic gear box for this car
looks like oil burning smoke coming out of tail pipe already

It would be nice with a 0-10 rating at the end :)
Can you review the buick encore
I love this car.
Someone tell me why you would choose a less convenient and worse looking sedan over a hatchback?
@DAVID Y, you're kidding right?! A lack of cup holders is the deal breaker for you on this car ;-) Dave
yes!!! car airconditioning...very great!!!
Ok, someone explain to me what the point of a wheel cover is if it doesn't cover the ugly steel wheel? I hate wheel covers like this!
You are right, but I think the idea is to sort of trick the eye into thinking the car has a decent set of wheels. I hate those covers (and most other covers) too!
because the steel wheel are even uglyer
No!
If this had a Kia badge, I'd buy it. Not a fan of hyundais.
Nose looks a bit like a Focus clone from a distance
Not the most interesting car in the world, so I found myself easily distracted by the Kansan sky.
وين اكسنت يا ابوي
Это же Солярис
id rather get a base corolla: gets same mpg, more spacious, and looks better
Have You Seen How Ugly The New Corollas Are?
nice rental...
Antifreeze
Plaza Qu
Not a bad car, but your calves are massive!
This cars a rocket in india.
But its dissapointing to hear that in america this car is apiece of shit
