lol yehh my h22 prelude ate 5qts oil a month with minimal vtec... Had to sell it but now i got a rsx k20 which doesnt burn so im happy with it

these cars are very hard to revmatch in. ive heel toed every goddamn shift since ive owned my gsr and its still hard
I was thinking the same about downshifting to 1st gear. That first gear would go very quickly.
@@araybeezy1653 maybe difference in the gearbox between the GSR and Type R? Because my JDM Type R is a dream to rev match in, its absolutely perfect.
That said, his downshifts and especially upshifts were a bit clunky. I think that extended gearstick was hampering him more than helping tbh. Making the throw too long
@@_Zekken with the power band of vtec its a difficult car to drive period. no torque at low rpm and tons of power in vtec. you have to keep it up in the corners meaning either going insanely fast in second or trying to grab first. there's no real difference between transmissions besides LSD its still a Honda B-series. i don't think downshifting to first gear or fighting falling out of vtec really that easy to drive. its rather tricky

Thought I was the only one to see it!! I'm a really average driver and could instantly see how bad this guy is. Chucking it in then downshifting, bouncing off the limiter and having to change back up mid corner. Fuck's sake.

And to stop putting it in 1st so much. Top of 1st might be 30ish, so just keep it in 2nd and keep your momentum up, lol.

@@alexego4686 wrong. needs to stay in vtec all the time. if its at low speed that means 1st gear.
@@Clark_R 1st gear tops out at about 50kph, if hes going below that speed (and he did in a few corners) then yes he'd want to be in 1st, otherwise he'll be out of Vtec in 2nd and you want to stay in vtec for corner exit or you lose so much time.

I remember my dad doing some kind of "touge run" and had some battle with mini truck when we were on vacation last 2019. He did it in a minivan (2012 Toyota Vellfire).The minivan was full of luggage and 9 passengers, he did so when the road was busy and during the day. I was sitting in the third row and I slammed into the glass several times cuz my dad turning so fast, and it wasn't even his car but his friend car who was even in the car.

Puts JDM Masters to shame. This is a proper run, done as it should be, not like JDM Masters and friends who get overtaken by people carriers as they fart about at snail pace.
Indeed, I like those guys but their runs are granny driving. Which is fine too. Where it doesn't match up is the bravado and tall tales of former racing experience, but then followed by granny driving.
It's certainly a pleasure to see a video with a real sports car.

and new bushings, from the look of things. Maybe a lighter stick that doesn't flop everywhere... But I'm an MR2 guy so i can't talk.

@@HooptyCrewRacing yes there are a few issues. He can down shift. He shifts decent on a few. I get why he is doing it, he wants the power out of the lower gear going a bit slower over the staying in a higher gear at faster entry. But when he down shifts, he is not immediately on the throttle bc he doesnt know fully know the car's limit...he's being limited by fear. Its just confidence, really..he wil, get there. He's not a bad driver...These cars are tricky to drive at limit. Also i think there may be a gearbox issue, he's forcing it into gear on some shifts. The tall shifter with its leverage can make worn out synchros, and meshing into gear worse, there will be more unwanted movements going into gear with a lever thst long.. Its also too long and is making his arm do weird movememts, which also doesnt help drivabillity. Ive been driving b16, b18, and f20, f22s for 25/20 years and still cant drive them to their limit all the time.
