In this video I cover the breakers of Draenor and all of the specific races that share the same origin. With this I mainly go over the orc history and how they came to be, how they formed their first settlements and how they came to dominate a big part of Draenor. This is mainly lore from World of Warcraft Chronicle Volume 2.

Crossbreeding between humans and orcs doesn't sound as far fetched when you consider both are ultimately titan creations.
Blizzard already said that all the races you can play as (Expect Forsaken) can Breed. The real question is why would a Human breed with an orc? Their Brutes, Ugly, Savages if they follow Orcish culture and all around not nice people to be around. Not saying all Orcs are this way but most of them hell yeah.
I'm down
Boybandhair Thrall almost had it down with Taretha if she would have survived Blackmoore.
Even Jaina at one point was considered to be a suitable mate for Thrall by Drek'Thar, just a pity she was a human.
Boybandhair You’re RACIST 🤧
Some male orcs can have rugged kinda handsome and females can have a kinda amazon kinda beauty and some can even be cute. They're not pretty like Elves but they're not all totally hideous either,
Ah yes, Orcs are the gnomes of draenor
......well this is going to hunt my mind now .... ..
Except instead of spending their time bombing themselves with radiation orcs just kinda kill everyone
So... goblin are devolved orcs?
Gnomelords of Draenor. 👌
@DanEDigg what have you done!?!!
I love your videos Doron. They are always well made and explained. Much love from Canada!
I have an ancestor as a mount!
I want a Giant Gorilla mount!
Thank you for making such high quality videos. You really couldn't have just ended the video at "Orcs are descendants of Grond, yada yada" but you always go the extra mile with these videos. I loved learning about the Gorian empire and interplay between the Gorians and the Orcs.
Playing an Orc Warlock in classic. Loved the lore behind orc locks ever since I first did that quest in Shadowmoon Valley.
Grond (grand daddy of all Breaker-kind) > The Colossals > Magnaron > Gronn > Ogron > Ogres > Orcs
Goren fit in there somewhere.

This is a really good video! Keep it up Doronsmovies!
Thanks. :)
Thank you for another great lore video!
Thanks man, you made my day!

The entire city of Goria was swallowed by the Blizzard scrap tool due to deadline.
great video as always man, god damn I have a new respect for orcs and WOD in general what a badass tale
True orgin of orc, Blizzard was trying to sell an RTS game to Gamesworkshop they said no, so Blizzard change the Name from Orks to Orcs and released it independently.
looking at how Blizzard changed over the years and what their games have become i can finally be glad about that instead of feeling bad about it.
And aren’t we glad that GW declined and birthed an amazing game that rivals the Warhammer franchise.
your comment is as false as saying that GW created something original which they never did, besides the word orks is not an ip as such, GW made ip orruks from fantasy because they could not own the basic term when they moved to age of sigmar, inform yourself well before saying stupid things, ok?
@@TheBlackfall234 and you believe a famous lie rather than your own research that reveals that they were not inspired by a company that did not create anything original and instead both were inspired by the same sources? Please kill the demon of ignorance before you believe famous bullshit from ignorant fandom or the majority.
@@mihajlonovkovic3428 except that famous fake comment is false that you usually repeat ignorantly since you didn't research something about the topic even to begin with, otherwise you wouldn't be writing nonsense about a fictional agreement that didn't even happen between GW and Blizzard besides finding out that both companies were inspired by the same sources for their fictional universes, finally it would be very hypocritical to say that blizzard copied something when GW didn't create something original in the first place.
I'm starting to believe that Blizzard really doesn't know how transitional species work in evolution.
And they don't know how to leave some things to the imagination and not retcon every-single-goddamn-thing
It's a fantasy universe. It doesn't have to be realistic
then tell us Doctor, how do magical plant spores effect species and evolution?
@@Shiirow Magic, you answered it yourself.
For the Thunderlord Clan! Most underrated clan in the game and lore!
Yeah
Super nice video. Quite glad to learn this well constructed background never thought it was so peculiar
tolkien, that's where all races came from.
It's always confused back in the day as a kid why that the Orc home world was named Draenor, when the Draenai came from another planet to it and sounding very much like their race, who named the planet? Also it seems Orcs originally shared a similar light brown pigment in their skin color, wonder when the red, black, and blue skin tones came in. We all know the green was from the Fel and left over even after it.
Read the lore, it was the Draenei who named Draenor Draenor, the exile's refuge.
Hell, the lore explicitly says that the name Draenor come from the Draenei's language.

Always a great video Doron!
If you consider what the orcs have done in Ashenvale and elsewhere, it seems likely they still have those destructive tendencies against natural forces.
Though the fel influence probably doesn't help.
They simply harvested wood because they needed it for their buildings.
@@durshurrikun150 they didn't need THAT much wood.
And it's not like they planted anything to replace it, or even just selective cut the area. They just straight up clear cut a massive chunk of old growth forest. Not cool man.
@@innovativeatavist159 Because they needed it for the construction.
Actually, to build cities, you need a lot of wood if your city is primarily made of wood.
@InnovativeAtavist you do realize how much wood it takes to build and maintain city's especially in war time right it's more surprising that they didn't clear more forest but that's probably from the nelfs fighting tooth and nail for the plants
It’s interesting how the Orcs are indirectly descended from the Titan Aggramar.
Draenor doesn’t have any Titan facilities like Ulduar in Northrend.
For next Q&A,
How were the demons created and what created them?
Nothing like a good ol' Doronsmovies video!
Love your videos mang, please keep making them :D
The Ogres remind me of the Mogu of Azeroth. The Evergrowth deserves it’s own video and the other Primals. Please?
idk why but I find your old videos way easier to listen to
Same here, his voice tone is calmer in his older videos
Orcs are (with all respect) the badassess of badassess. Even with the Vrykul.
so wait, that means, humans, dwarves, gnomes and orcs are essentially titan creations?? whaaaat??
[since the others are not:
Night elf, blood elf, troll = descendants of the dark trolls in ancient azeroth
Tauren, goblin, pandaren = primitive races on azeroth
worgen = half night elf half human
draenei = primitive race to their home planet
undead = mostly humans, rarely elves]
Goblins kinda sorta are, albeit not directly. Like the dragons, they weren't constructs, but rather reshaped from a primitive race by Titan technology. It just wasn't done directly by a Titan, but rather by a creation of theirs (Mimiron, a Mechagnome)
wait so if grond is titan made and the collosi are made from bits of grond, and gronn are decesnds of colossi, which is the ancestor of ogres/orcs does that mean that orcs owe their existence to a titan (aggramar) similar to humans and dwarfs?
Yes
So wait does that mean Goblins are just smaller weaker smarter orcs? Does this mean orcs just turned smaller when getting to azeroth and turning them into goblins?
Jason Axle Goblins and orcs aren't related.
Goblins aren't from Draenor. They're native to Azeroth. The only race they're known to be related to are the Pygmies
I wanna see draenor and-maybe-Outland rewamped. twicing, or even tripleing the size of the zones would be cool, and feel like an actual planet.
Outland can't become a planet because it is itself the remnants of Draenor.
If alternate Draenor is revisited, then maybe we'll see other continents of it including the areas that were not implemented in WOD.
A revamp for Outland would make it smaller since it's apparently been ripping itself apart and I'd be interested in seeing a dreanor revamped from the light incursion yreals was leading during the mag Har recruitment quest
It's like Warhammer 40k's Orks spores except their orks are born in a different way
So one thing I wondered... why exactly did the Orcs form the "Dragonmaw" Clan, when there were literally no dragons on Draenor? Also, was the Blackrock on Azeroth named after the Blackrock Clan? If so, what was the inspiration for their Clan name in the first place? So many questions...
Blackrock Mountain and the Blackrock clan of orcs were named the same by coincidence. When the orcs used it as a fortress they took it as a good blessing.
The Dragonmaw clan is a hard one to figure out, but I think it might have to do with those fae dragon-like creatures we saw during WoD.
They did not use that name in Draenor, they used their orcish name and they were referring to the rylaks.
Ugh Draenor was an awesome expansion. Last one I thoroughly got sucked into and enjoyed.
Very interesting, but it's so sad you stopped speak about the Legion : green orcs, chaos red orcs, etc... :(
I feel like using images of the magnaron as the colossals is misleading. I dunno. correct me if wrong
there are no image of what they look like, but magnaron are close enough
It's very hard to present Grond and the colossals when there are no models of them and barely any art.
Doronsmovies that's true, but some newbie scrub-idiots might get the wrong idea 😂
i am newbie scrub idiot :(
Tigrex no well everyone once was a noob, so nothing to be ashamed of
Warcraft Orcs are the coolest!
@4:59 Wait... the Skeksis kicked off the Ogre liberation?!??
Damn Skeksis always messing with dark powers!
Hello there, theres a question that came to my mind:
Whats the original, primordial name of Draenor? AFAIK it was named this way because draenei came here. Did orcs have its name for this planet? Ogre name? or Ogron name?
Orgrimmar=Green Lands
Orcs just called it “The Planet”
Until the draenei came and then accepted Dreanor as its name
The other sapient races had other names for it though
The ogres name for Draenor was Dawgar (meaning Known Earth), the arakkoa called it Rakshar (meaning Sunstone), the orcs simply called it world, the draenei were the ones who gave Draenor it's name
Elijah Butcher thank you so much for clearing that up!!! been a decade since my interest in WoW lore came back
@@Dr.Osterman No problem
*insert sarcasm* Grond died battling the Evergrowth. Now you understand why orcs love chopping Ashenvale's trees, they unconsciously fight plant life they believe to be the Evergrowth of Azeroth.

Morgan capra next expansion we can

Super interesting. Thanks! :)
I love Orcs.
I really hate how they changed Orge lore. They made them this highly intelligent race with big civilisation yet still most of the ogres in game and old books and comics are unintelligent brutes. There is no explanation for this and it really pisses me off :v
Blizzard retcons old lore all the time so it's not really surprising. I definitely prefer the current ogres to the dumb brutes that could barely form a sentence.
This is one of the most radical retcon yet.Main main issue with this is the dissonance when most of the ogres that we encounter are still from the original lore. Maybe if the explanation was given, for example that the fel magic made them degenerate in intelligence it would be easier for me to swallow. Also with ogres now civilised and Murky is starting a murloc kingdom we are running out of dumb races. :V
I believe at one point the seemingly dull intelligent ogres were a similar case as to what gul'dan did to the orcs when first coming to Azeroth and had children growth accelerated to replace numbers though that is old lore I believe
actually, the Ogres becoming stupid WAS explained as being a side-effect of experiments conducted on them by Orcs that had affinity for the Arcane over the course of generations, these Ogres in particular were among the few remaining Ogres that sought to get out from beneath the heel of the Gronn that controlled many Ogres, while the Gronn-loyalist Ogres were killed off. These experiments had side effects of affecting the minds of future generations of Ogres save for a small handful that would become powerful spellcasters such as Cho'gall, and with the intervention of the Legion in using the Orcs to slay the Draenei, this just made things much worse for the Ogres than beforehand.
I am sorry, but i still don't buy the retcon.
It works soooo much beter when Dreanor 1 and Dreanor 2 split when the Akora decided to free the Ogres.
One universe where the Ogres remained slaves until they where rescued by the Horde themselves, where the Gul'Dan became a Shaman as the orcs had the luxury to come together and where Narzull started the Horde
And one where the Ogres became the "Horde"itself and united knew to bully everyone around them.
And a world where the legion already knew how Gul'Dan ticked and was stupid enough to drink the blood itself.
that Accckkkkkkk-cent.
Man, great videos and one of the few things i didn't know, Orcs are just degenerated Ogres, haha, and the influence of titans in Draenor, good to know!
Why aren't they still evolving or rather devolving, they'll probably turn into green pigs with tusks that fight angry birds for a living
Orcs have as many forms as Elves.
That's a lot of damage
If the fact that the orcs are a titan creation is true, then I would love them x10 more...
they are indeed a descended of the titan creation
Does this mean in altered universe Dreanor a new titan will be born also.
The Azeroth version the Outlands has been broken to pieces so that version probbaly died.
@@ouroborosi Draenor had no world soul. It was just a significant world that got Aggramar's attention since it had such strong elemental activity and power
@@BroadwayRonMexico Actually, that's not true.
It was a small and insignificant world, but had a lot of Spirit on it that Aggramar stumbled upon while he was combating demons.
Then he saw what the evergrowth was doing and that it would eventually destroy all life on Draenor, so he created Grond.
@@durshurrikun150

Damn, just hearing that WoD music remembers me bad memories :s
Orcs related to fungus. So they are warhammer Orks. well done Metzen.
nahh, nothing to do with wh orks, besides that both share the same concept of race in fiction
I dont get the part with Oshu gun. Its the ship that brought the Dranei to Draenor right? In the Timeline you described it ended when the Draenei came to Draenor. But in the books the Orcs claim they used Oshu gun since a long time for their Rituals.. so when did the Ship crashed into the world, that the orcs can make that claim? Did they lie? Or how long is the timespan between Draenei came to Draenor and the Burning Legion manipulate Ner'zul?
Wish we atleast got sub-races for orcs like some skin colors: brown and grey
This guy could voice a character in skyrim.
Origins of the Orcs? Well old Papa Tolkien took them from pig like domesticated creatures and reformed them in big strong grey apeddlike domesticated creatures, but due to copyright they were painted green. Warcraft 1 and 2 used those Orcs but Metzen's horrific obsession with redemption story of bad guys ( look at WoD for results) lead us to the Orcs of Warcraft 3 and Thrall...the end.
Would love to see a video of this on trolls. :)
amazing
Sooo.... everything changed when the burning legion attacked
oh my god the history of the orcs is just a justification for the clearcutting of the forests they did in wc3 and to help explain why the nature loving night elves went with the alliance
wow is there a resume? like the story of Draenei
What did he say? Dorons mobies? Moo-Bee's?
FOR MY ANCESTORS !
wait, oggron are decendents of the gronn? i thought they were hybrids of the gronn and ogres.
according to the lore should we defeat the burning legion
Ogres should be an allied race for the horde
This guy sounds like a discounted clearance sale version of nobel
I would like to know if its posible for an orc to be a monk lore wise.
Shouldn't this be added to your origin of races playlist?
wow...ty
please do a how powerfull are rogues
wouldnt this effectively make the orcs titan constructs and thus having access to the powers of the light something that lorewise just dosnt happen.
Titan creations don't always have access to the light, as the Titans themselves are beings of arcane mostly. It's when someone spreads "The good word" of the light (usually Naaru) when they start practicing that beleif/accesses the light.
I think it might have to do with the first war at this point, as we see many orcs participating and helping in with the argent crusade (as well as Night Elves interestingly enough). Orcs always saw the light being used against them, because the humans thought they were demons or beings of shadow (Also it's probably all the humans had beside arcane).
so are Goblins a devolved form of orcs? because they are smaller but smarter then orcs
Some trolls and gnomes got together and fukked
Orcs never had an empire. Ogres had an empire. We need playable Ogres.
