I kind of feel like we all got into cozy hobbies in 2020 (out of necessity, mentally and physically), but then some of it kind of fell away and a big portion of people "went back to normal" and now in 2024 I'm seeing a lot of people going back to coziness! My motto this year is "I don't care" which translates to, I'm not going to let things out of my control bother me. I'm going to cozy-game, do puzzles, take walks, read books, crochet, and occasionally watch tiktok. Whatever makes me happy :)

Ever After with Drew Barrymore is a top tier movie, and while it's technically fairy tale retelling, it has all the best elements of romcom. Plus it really holds up well with some progressive themes. LOVE IT.
What we do in the shadows is such a hidden gem. I love it so much.
BEST 90s/early 2000s ROMCOMS
I love sandra bullock's late 90s to early 2000s movies: two weeks notice (my fav!!), while you were sleeping, miss congeniality, premonition, practical magic! Some not necessarily rom coms but i think they're pretty cozy!!
Favorite romance movies: Drew Barrymoore era (Ever After, Never Been Kissed, 50 First Dates) and I know its not a romcom but the main couple in The Mummy, 1 and 2 remain my favorite couple (Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz!!!)
Favorite romcoms:While You Were Sleeping, You’ve Got Mail, Sabrina with Harrison Ford, Anne of Green Gables/Avonlea with Megan Follows and Colleen Dewhurst. I also love Miss Potter with Renee Zellweger! North and South with Richard Armitage

I've watched a few cozy hobby videos lately and I suddenly feel validated!! I've been a closeted cozy crafter for years. When you mentioned Legos, girl I high fives my screen!! For me it's diamond painting and audio books!!!
I got into LEGO this past year too! I'm rapidly running out of shelves, lol. I recently completed the Rivendell set. It's quite expensive, but it's also gorgeous and took me a really long time. Best set I've done so far.

Same! I’m not a Disney Adult, but I really enjoyed Dreamlight! I think the task interface and the flow there takes the stress of executive functioning off while still giving you a dopamine rush from crossing things off the lost. 6:27

I’ve kept lists of my favourite movies, TV Shows, songs, books, games and even names since I was a kid. I would often prefer to re-watch or re-read a beloved movie or book than try a new one TBH. But I felt excited by sone of your movie and TV suggestions and am keen to branch out!
BTW, if you’ve never watched Asian TV dramas you need to! You will never run out of sweet, funny, romantic, interesting stories. I’m particularly fond of K-dramas. My absolute favourites include Coffee Prince, Jewel in the Palace, Personal Preference and Secret Garden.

I tried to get into coloring during the adult coloring book craze but I would always color one page and then never pick it up again but lately I finally found a way that works for me and I’m so happy to have a new hobby and how comforting coloring is

I love a good cozy hobby. I have always been a huge fan of Lego and I am truly running out of room. I have a large collection of the Modular Buildings, Harry Potter, various vehicles, and the Holiday/Winter themed sets. I love all the different building techniques unique to each set and learning about some of the hidden details too.

I really love the romcoms French Kiss with Meg Ryan and Kevin Kline and Down With Love with Ewan McGregor and Renee Zelweger. I feel like they don't get enough mention and most people forget about them.

Dreamlight valley is eveytbing I started in July and haven’t put it down it’s so fun and the new content updates and all of the additional tasks and things you can do is so fun. I love it so much I’m getting it for all my cuzins lol

hi comment section :) i’m looking for a game recommendation similar to wytchwood, ive been playing & loving it, something w specific tasks and structure but still w a story
I loved Wytchwood and played Spiritfarer after and loved it even more. There are some similarities and an amazing story.
Some of my favourite romcoms are Only You (Robert Downey Jr and Melissa Tomei in Italy), Someone Like You (Ashley Judd and Hugh Jackman) and Benny & Joon (Johnny Depp and Mary Stuart Masterson) and Keeping the Faith (Jenna Elfman, Ben Stiller and Ed Norton).
My latest cozy hobby/hyperfixation is painting my nails. So meditative, and I am obsessed with holo, so Mooncat and Holo Taco have become instant faves 💅

Other cozy hobbies: 3-D puzzles, board games, scrapbooking, collaging. I color and collage myself. I like the more detailed coloring books (e.g. Native American, medieval, Celtic, famous historical women, Goddesses, mermaids, Aztec, insects, wildlife, mandalas). I use magazine pictures, calendars, greeting cards, other images in my collages. I also like to draw.

If you like Jane Austen films then I highly recommend the film the Jane Austen book club because this film was my introduction to Jane Austen and then I saw Pride & Prejudice 2005. For romcom genre I mostly lean towards kdramas. I love a cozy sweet romantic story that is somehow about multiple streak of a psychopath's murder mystery. A girl just can have weird preferences okay, I know this is a non-judgement zone
Do you / have you ever played Skyrim? Seems like the fantasy aspects would be right up your alley and it’s definitely the kind of game you can play for hours and hours and hours without even touching the main storyline. The newest version on switch (anniversary edition) has mods with even MORE additional side quests and additional crafting options. It’s almost an overwhelming amount of content but in a good way because you can just get totally lost in the world.
