Subang Regency currently has an area of ​​2,051.76 km² and a population of around 1,636,233 people, making it the 15th district with the largest population in West Java. This position is after Majalengka Regency (1,354,803 people) and Ciamis Regency (1,281,201 people).
Although there are many other districts with larger populations and areas, Subang Regency has attracted attention with its expansion plans. Reporting from ayobandung.com, of the nine proposals for the formation of new districts in West Java, Subang Regency is the one that has been approved by the Minister of Home Affairs for regional expansion.
The new district resulting from this expansion will be named North Subang Regency, which will include 15 sub-districts, namely: Pusakanagara District, Pusakajaya District, Pakarukan District, Sukasari District, Ciasem District, Patokbeusi District, Legonkulon District, Tambakdahan District, Binong District, Pabuaran District, Purwadadi, Cikaum District, Compreng District, Blanakan District, and Cipunagara District.
