Just bought the gray dial and it is stunning. Put it on the 21mm Vollmer curved end mesh which works with it exceptionally well. Had to curve the springbars slightly on the side of a round drinking glass to get them to fit through the curved ends of the mesh.
I have the gray dial (my favorite dial color) and, while not my most expensive watch, it’s absolutely one of my favorites. I am currently in the market for another one, thinking about the ivory dial, but I like the silver hands more. Thanks for showcasing these and helping me make my decision!
I own (almost) exclusively black watches! I just love the look. Especially on a brown strap. A beautiful combination for casual or business-casual wear. I just picked this watch up in black and swapped the strap to brown.
Hi Marc. Ordered my Bambino grey yesterday! My 2nd watch from you (the 1st was a Seiko New Monster - love it!) and the 2nd time that a friend will bring it to me.
This is a great design by Orient. In my opinion, ALL of the colours look fantastic. For the moment, I have picked up the blue face which is just stunning. I can't wait to see it in bright sunlight!
This watch has been on my mind for like three years now since I first discovered it. I found it on Amazon.com and then it became unavailable for a long time so I forgot about it. I remembered it a couple days ago and decided to search for it cause I almost forgot the name... Then it came to me: "Bambino". Boom. Available on Amazon again so I bought it just before watching this awesome video... The gray one, of course. Can't wait for it to arrive!! And I'm glad you agree the gray one is the underdog!
Just re-watched this. Nice review. Orient certainly checks all the boxes. Great combination of quality, function, design, and value. I too do not really have a need for a "dress" watch...if I did it would be a Bambino. Meanwhile, I am loving my Mako II.
I am with you that grey is amazing. Much like Marc, most of my collection is blue, and Orient knows how to do a nice blue, so getting me to speak well of the grey means they are doing something right.
I was all set to buy a black Version 1 ( to go along with my cream/blue hand Version 2), but when I saw the gray Version 3, I knew I had to have it. Ordered it from Marc yesterday!
I wish they were a little bit smaller as well. I got the blue version, thinking it looked cool, and having seen lots of great reviews. However, it was just way too dressy to really fit my style, especially with that blue dial. (I also don't attend dressy occasions except a few times a year.) Definitely a newbie watch collector mistake. Buying a watch I liked, but wasn't really comfortable wearing. It happened to be a fault with it, so I returned it to the seller in a few days and did not rebuy another one. I'll probably still consider a white/grey/black dial one, if I find myself looking for a "specialised dress watch" in the future. I think those dials are a bit more versatile, and the Bambino is insane value for money.
Barrel Tech89 get both, I was worried to get one colour and then changing my mind to the other one, I was initially sold for the white, then black and now grey, the grey one it is stunning, so will get that but if I really like the watch I will probably get the black and the white too. :)
I bought the black dial. I guess I didnt check the case size because on my 8 inch wrist it seems just a tad bit smaller than I prefer. It still looks gorgeous and I love it so much I ordered the grey dial as well. Again a little small face for a big wrist but it still looks and fits great.
Ha, this is great, get all 4 of them or save up about the first 20% for a Zenith El Captain (which I’d prefer to own, tbh, not only because there‘s no need to adjust time every 3-5 days).. but this one’s seems to be done really really very well indeed! Kudos to Orient!!
I don't know why everyone keeps saying that its difficult to understand Orient's way of categorizing the watches. Two generations, multiple versions on each generation. Simple as that. Anyway, I have the first gen V1 and I truly love it but I think I will need a white or grey dial soon.
I am not much enthusiastic on dress watches but want one in my collection. I found Orient Bambino is the perfect budget choice with compared to Seiko Cocktail. Is that a fare deal, going for Orient Bambino over Seiko cocktail?
Great looking watch and excellent review, I decided to pull the trigger on the grey one (your review and the comments on this tread convinced me to go for it), besides my last two watches were blue (hard to resist a blue dial with a nice brown leather band), but I need more variety in my collection.
Hi Mark, I've got an AC0000EW I'd like to upgrade with a 'see through' pop back like RA-AG00002S and RA-AP00002S have. I assume the screw down case back AC0000EW has is not interchangeable with the pop backs, right? If not, do RA-AG00002S and RA-AP00002S have the same dimension cases like AC0000EW, so putting the AC0000EW's movement into the case of RA-AG00002S or RA-AP00002S might be an option - what do you think? Thx, Mark
Hey Mark! Do you know of any sapphire domed crystals to replace the domed mineral? And great review! You helped me finally decide what my first watch would be.
You could go for the Orient Kamasu, I have the one with black rubber band and blue dial and bezel, the watch it is amazing. With sapphire glass and the finish of the watch it is stunning. You will probably pay slightly more than the bambino one but well worth it. Also if I am not wrong there should be an amazing green dial and bezel too. :)
Hey Mark I'm thinking of buying one of these from your store. I live in Australia - what's the difference between shipping USPS Aus for $11.31 and USPS Flat Rate Au for $5? Thanks
I'm in Europe, so if I order from you I'll be charged for costumes. Is it any possible way to avoid that? Do you have an Europe office to release parcels?
well... I like a nice blue dial, I really do, but this one really not the case. I prefer the other options as the hands and the hour marks are not bright enough against this dark blue. but of course I would take all the models to my collection :D
I think Orient should have called them 'variants' or 'types' rather than 'versions', as the latter implies progression, like 3 is better than 1, when really it's just a different dial colour. As for the watches themselves, they're nice but it really looks like they were supposed to be 38mm but got stretched, leaving the hands too short :(
Just bought the gray dial and it is stunning. Put it on the 21mm Vollmer curved end mesh which works with it exceptionally well. Had to curve the springbars slightly on the side of a round drinking glass to get them to fit through the curved ends of the mesh.
The gray one is absolutely gorgeous... followed by the white one.
I have the gray dial (my favorite dial color) and, while not my most expensive watch, it’s absolutely one of my favorites. I am currently in the market for another one, thinking about the ivory dial, but I like the silver hands more. Thanks for showcasing these and helping me make my decision!
Hey mate, you mean the white dial? I am not aware of the Ivory one, is it still one of the 2gen version 3 Bambino’s?
I have the black one and it's probably the best value for money watch of my entire 14 watch collection.
Thanks for your business!
Always a pleasure, Marc!
This is a great design by Orient. In my opinion, ALL of the colours look fantastic. For the moment, I have picked up the blue face which is just stunning. I can't wait to see it in bright sunlight!
The white dial was the best for me, the dial even looks a tad ivory in color, I love it! Very classy, wish they were 38mm though
Thank you!
This watch has been on my mind for like three years now since I first discovered it. I found it on Amazon.com and then it became unavailable for a long time so I forgot about it. How much did it cost for u? And how is ur experience with it? Regards
The grey nails it for me, great vid Marc 👍
You aren't alone!
Grey all the way!
True, but maybe some love for blue?
Hardest one to see the time tho
The grey one kills. Hope you will post one on sizes. Thank you

The blue Bambino was my first ever watch. Don’t wear it as a daily watch anymore but still love it!
I just bought a gray one. These are awesome. Great work Mark!
Thanks Gary.
I want the blue orient so bad! But that that grey is hypnotizing
It sure is!
The gray is beautiful 😍
Got it yesterday 160 cad on amazon. I like it
Nice ❤❤❤ Just ordered the gray one at Ama (160€) for office days and maybe xmas 😊
the blue and gray looks gorgeous. i got the green v4
Hey Mark, I really wanted to have the white but I took your word and bought one with the grey dial. No regrets so far. Cheers
Great color!
That gray dial looks beautiful😩
It is indeed.
I was all set to get a black Version 1 (to go with my cream/blue dial Version 2), but the gray Version 3 sold me. Ordered it from Mark yesterday!
Can't decide between that and the blue
@@leoscarpoli1nonly did you? how is it? the white one is great as well
Leo Scarpoli get both :)
I gotta choose between that grey or white dial. both look great
I have the gray and photos and videos don't do the dial justice- mesmerizing, icy metallic sunburst.
So you know what I'm talking about?!!?
I am with you that grey is amazing. Much like Marc, most of my collection is blue, and Orient knows how to do a nice blue, so getting me to speak well of the grey means they are doing something right.
This is a great watch. The only reason I don't already have one is the random 21mm strap option. But love Orient brand.
I was all set to buy a black Version 1 ( to go along with my cream/blue hand Version 2), but when I saw the gray Version 3, I knew I had to have it. Ordered it from Marc yesterday!

Ready to order the gray. I said I wasn't, but it just calling my wrist.
haha, I knew it!
Same, I’m between the grey and black

I love the movement of the 2nd Gen bambino. it gave a good time accuracy actually. better than my seiko 5 watch.

EXCELLENT Review 👍
Almost perfect! 38 mm and I would probably buy 3 or 4 of them. We need a quality replacement of the Timex Marlin. I will probably still pick one up.
It would give the Marlin a run for its money.
I just got the grey one but version 1. Would that be a problem? No hack no manual wind. Will it last more than 5 years without servicing? 😂
I don't dress up, but any of these watches would look good on me.
I love the price.
What about the black dial with the white hands is beautiful 😍
Okay this video is quite older now.. which one took the longest to sell.. my guess would be the blue was the slowest seller for mark.
I wanted a Tissot swissmatic but the grey dial has me 😍😍😍
I love my grey Bambiono great watch for 100€. I also have put it on a grey bond NATO and maybe I'm crazy but it looks great.
I have the grey dial but no idea what strap to get for it.. I want to dress it down as I usually dress casually... Any suggestions?
I was surprised when I saw how much better the white, grey, and blue look in person.
Beauties!
Just got the black dial. Yummy.
Why do I love these Bambinos so much. I have 2 and need many more. ha ha ha
Great vid as always Marc
It's the value!
I don't know why everyone keeps saying that its difficult to understand Orient's way of categorizing the watches. Two generations, multiple versions on each generation. Simple as that. Anyway, I have the first gen V1 and I truly love it but I think I will need a white or grey dial soon.
some people are noobs lol
I want all 4!
That blue version, is a little bit sporty watch? Can i wearing without a suit?
The grey one looks similar to the Junghans Maxbil that I have. Definitely a looker
Yes, same style.
I am not much enthusiastic on dress watches but want one in my collection. I found Orient Bambino is the perfect budget choice with compared to Seiko Cocktail. Is that a fare deal, going for Orient Bambino over Seiko cocktail?
I have the white dial Bambino... but the grey is beautiful!
Fantastic review!
Thanks!
Does anyone know where can one find the grey one online?
Ese dial en color Gris es bellísimo, muy, muy elegante...y combinado con el cristal de domo, verdaderamente hipnótico😳

You made a good choice!
Hi Marc, when you will get back in stock the white and gray models? Thank You!!
Next month.
Acabei de comprar um bambino igual no dia 1 de Agosto é muito bonito espero ter sorte com ele
i needed this grey dial on the open heart series! is it possible?
Good review. Thanks
the grey simply looks amazing, well done mark, a very nice video, keep it up,cheers
Thanks so much.

Can you tell me the weight of the watch pls?

Not yet, sorry.
are you gonna get any more of these or is that it for this line? that charcoal dial is really gorgeous.
Mark, trying to figure out the choice between this watch in gray and the new Timex Marlin. Your gut feeling?
Jonathan Lagarde Im literally in the same exact boat. They both look great but Im currently leaning towards this just because of the price point
I like the Timex Marlin because it is smaller .
Yo Adrian, you guys ship to Canada or what bud?
Is £110 for a Bambino V3 Gen 2 a good deal?
Sounds like the +/- vary quite a bit from watch to watch. Are Bambinos easy to regulate by most watchmakers if we aren't happy with the time?
Yes.
Beatiful review, beautiful watch. I want it but im a sporty Guy. Is weird to wear this kind a watch?
You could go for the Orient Kamasu, I have the one with black rubber band and blue dial and bezel, the watch it is amazing. With sapphire glass and the finish of the watch it is stunning. @@caporretto thanks!
Will you suggest a watch that comes very similar with the white dial but at least 38mm and with a similar price point please?
Seiko 5
I almost had a heart attack when you changed from white to blue.
But my favorite is definitely grey.
Haha, great to hear you didn't have one!
I've heard that the grey dial is very hard to read... can anyone confirm this?
oh ,look like very cool and elegant .
Cam you get your hands on a Seiko sna413. The blue and white flightmaster. Thank you.
Sorry, no.
If you don't like the domed mineral crystal, is it possible to replace it with a thinner sapphire crystal?
I haven't seen it done yet.
I signed up for that waiting list! To bad I bought a capital 2 still love it though!
Haha, good grab nonetheless!
Any chance of you getting in the Seiko Presage SARX045? Would love to hear your opinions on that beauty
No plans yet, sorry.
Looks sharp!!
Thanks BW!
12:54 - wow, that's the double pack I'd want....
They are stunning.
Hi Marc, do you know if I can replace the back with a see through? I like my watches to show the movement.
Not that I know of.
Long Island Watch thank you for the reply. What model would you recommend from them that shows a nice movement on the back?

Late July 2017.
Brilliant - cheers!
Keep up the good work.

Sure.

I love them. Problem is I always wear casuals.
40mm is a great size for it. I wouldn’t mind if it were 42mm.
Size is quite a divisive topic on these.

Trust me go for Grey
The hands are slightly too short.
Ah, now that's all I can see when I look at it.
Whether short or long, stout or slender, don't they all get the job done? ;)
No they’re not
@@RoyaltonDrummer922
I've had it for a couple months now... It's perfect. I have no problem with the watch.
Having a wrist that is 45mm across, as much as I want one of these so much, I fear it would look ridiculous.
Never know till you try!
the best looking is the one with the gray dial…
More than the blue? Perhaps!

Will try!

Their naming convention sure is confusing.
