Hello, I don’t think it will. The 18 inch looks different compared to the one I use in the video for my 14 inch bed frame. The safest bet is to use the bracket for your designated bed size. Thanks for the comment.
Hello, I believe it is possible as there are multiple points on the bracket to put the really long screw into but it would also depend on your headboard as well. My headboard had multiple mounting holes which made it easy to adjust the height.

Yes that’s what I did. I bought the headboard from overstock.com and it worked perfectly fine.
