Hello! Repaired exactly the radio as you have in the video and rebuilt 0-5. If you don't mind, can I give a link in your comments to my video about this radio station?
Ive got a question her i have this radio there showing in this video here. The nightwatch has quit working, well the amp meter and channel meter and sound tracker light still light up but the faceplate doesnot where all the words are nothing there lights up it did but quit working when i put my radio mount in my truck. it did work before i put the mount in tho. any suggestions pm me or message me on here thanks
I have the same kind in my truck but i can’t receive anything other then 100 meter, i just installed a new antenna, had the inbuilt before, its still same thing. My swr is 1.5:1 that is on channel 1 = 1.5 SWR and at 40 is 1. I don’t know what to do now? Can some one help.?
Michael, What you are experiencing is supposed to happen with these models. I own one myself and use it every day. The brief "weather surge" when power is added, is a check the radio does itself. Also the loud "squeak" sound is a weather alert from NOAA. These radios are designed for overnight haulers, and will come on by themselves and beep to warn sleeping drivers of nearby severe weather. In conclusion, all of this is supposed to happen. Hope this helped!
I was hoping this video would show the face plate lit up... Good review though, I am planning on buying one of these this summer. I currently have a 29 LTD ST, it doesnt have nightwatch or WX
@ NELHAOTEC .. Your SWR's may be dead, which is awesome! My 29 WX NW ST does the same thing running a single Freightliner brand fiberglass. The 29 models normally like fiberglass over any other antenna. Also, these radios are bad about losing the nightwatch display. Mine is slowly working it's way from the bottom right corner and going out little by little. The display CAN be fixed, but you're better off to buy a new radio due to the cost of repair. Other than that, this is the best radio I own
Still have my 29LTD from 1989. After 25 years it still works like a charm. I replaced the internal speaker for $2 but that's all. I just bought a new 25LTD because I wanted the NW feature. Otherwise, you don't need weather or soundtracking. The real deal with these is the ease of turning them up (to 18w stock or 50 with a chip). Bright lights on the dash are an annoyance at night for professional drivers, so avoid CBs with lights that can't be turned down. There's a reason truckers prefer the 25 and the 29. They're just rugged, reliable radios.
I just bot one of these and it reaches about 30 miles with a single whip and real clear too but today my gf was messin with it and messed up all my settings now all I get is noise just got to reset everything and it should be fine

@Hlindeen Mine did the exact same thing. Did you ever find a reason why it did that?
I am really quite new to this CB radio crave and was wondering if the 3ft antenna would be the shortest one available for my car? Much Thanks!
It should you just have to tune it

Jordan Hooper this radio will not come on by itself.
Setting the Weather band switch to 0 (left-most) will disable the weather alert.
Whats the best antenna for a truck installation
Firestiks are pretty good. You can also get a whip.

Found our old one from 30’years ago
What does the nór mean
how do i adjust modulation? what pot?
I did mine, just look it up, it's not hard, it's a vertical pot, the kind with a silver screw driver slot!
I think mine is one of the last of them, its a 1999 as per the manufacture date sticker on the back
I got one same year July 99!
Will this radio give an alert if bad weather is nearby? If so does it need to be set up or will it do it automatically?
Jake Bauer no it will not alert. Must tune in and listen.
Mine does weather alert tone , then tune in .
is the ch indicator red or green ?
kendrick stephen minchew
RED
Mines green
