  • Samsung T5 and T7 external SSDs are great for extra storage and relatively affordable compared to build-in storage. Let’s check out the new Samsung T7 Shield today. The new beige color matches the new M2 MacBook Air starlight color! It is more rugged with a stronger rubbery shell but is it faster also?

I think the reads and writes will be fine. I remember years ago when I was on a dial up internet and downloading was terrible at 56 whatever the technology was then was awfully slow. Today I have a very fast internet and things download very fast so I appreciate technology. Like the portability of the SSDs. I had 5k photos on a windows drive and something got me, even though I had Norton 360 and Malware Bytes that I was paying extra for, and lost all of it and couldn't get it back. Even though I've never lost anything with Google, I'm going to keep all my photos on the SSD so that never happens to me again. I had a Dell Desktop at that time. I also have the 2020 MacBook Air with M1 chip but I haven't put any photos on that one yet. Thank you for your comparison it was very informative. I ordered the Samsung T7 Touch from Samsung directly. When it's new, I don't have to format it as it is in ex-FAT format already isn't it?

do the acasis enclosure compared to the T7 Shield improve your editing workflow or not really? Because i heard that you won't see any difference between a ssd like T7 and an enclosure in the editing. Only real advantage is the fact that you can transfer files faster but outside from this you won't see any timeline, export speed improvement, is it true?

I've purchased a new go pro and want to edit sports videos and vlogs. Total footage would be around 2-3 hours in total or more but edited final footage would not be more than 12-18 minutes. Should I go for 2tb, will it be enough to edit a whole video?
