    Is that a little steak right out in front, Andy? That would sell me! Looks somewhat different than what we would find here in the US. Wouldn't have the beans, but I love them. The hash browns here are different too. (Other than McDonalds) That being said this would work for me! Enjoyed the review.

      Hi Dave, what looks like steak was two slices of bacon. Thankfully, it was British/Danish style bacon rather than the Spanish bacon, which is very streaky. I'm going to have to investigate what American hash browns look like as I assumed they all looked like McDonald's hash browns. Thanks for watching, folks.

    Well, I'll leave you with JoAnna's comment. She was walking through the room, looked at the plate of food on the screen and said, "oh my God, that looks f*cking fantastic!" I'm pretty sure she is going to ask me to cook this in the morning. Gee, thanks Andrew 😂

      Enjoy breakfast JoAnna, sorry Paul. 😀 There is another full English review later in the week. Sorry, mate. Cheers for watching Paul. I hope you, JoAnna, and the family have had a great Christmas.

    Boo Nestors. Good on you Chaplins! Love the terracotta colours on the way in. 7/10 is good! €7.50 should be upper end! Two eggs, hash brown and toast? I’m in!

      We did visit Nestors later in the week for an evening meal - it was worth the wait! Chaplin's wasn't a bad breakfast but it wasn't anything special either. The mug of tea was welcome though, no daft little cups, a proper brew. Cheers for watching.

      Thanks for watching Julie & Tony. It was ok, edible, just not the best breakfast (or the worst) I've ever had.

    Just as well Chaplin's was open mind but I am with you, if I was paying 7.5 I would want something bit better that that, especially as I hate beans. Cheers Alan

      Baked beans get 'fixed' with some HP sauce I find. I can't stand them without - the tomato sauce they're in is too sweet. A couple of decent quality sausages and it would have been worth the money.

    Not a big breakfast fan, so as long as there is a coffee and a couple eggs, I'm usually good to go. Is there a good variety of places to eat within walking distance of where you stayed? Bruce and Otis

    • @OutandaboutwithAndy
      @OutandaboutwithAndy  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      There was half a dozen places to eat on a morning but most served an English breakfast, poached eggs on toast etc. There was a Spanish cafe near the bus station which did some amazing pastries, Spanish breakfast dishes and freshly ground coffee etc which seemed popular with the locals but it was a longer walk. As we had a toaster and kettle in the apartment we only went out for breakfast twice. Thanks for watching Bruce.

    Looked ok Andy. Presentation could have been better. Was there any Black pudding ? A must have for sure.

      Sadly, just mushrooms, Watto 😫. The Mrs got my mushrooms. I agree, you can't beat black pudding on a breakfast.

    Think the problem is some of Fuerterventura has become to Brit . It's like going to Blackpool with better weather. Also parts of Caleta de Fuste have become really grubby compared to a couple of decades back

      I have been to Caleta de Fuste four times now. The first visit was in 2000. It has certainly grown since then. Like everything, some parts have aged well, others less so. Certainly, some areas need improvement. It was good to see some investment in some of the paved areas and roads being resurfaced. As for being too British, it's still a far cry from being Benidorm, but certainly, there are areas which cater to British tourists. Personally, we love to eat in a variety of restaurants so we certainly didn't just go for steak pie and chips every day - Tapas1966 is one of our favourite restaurants in Caleta de Fuste. More on that in a future video. Thanks for watching and commenting.

    I hate boards - I would want a plate! Typical resort cafe breakfast - just fuel really. Keith

      @OutandaboutwithAndy  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Exactly what it was, just food, nothing special, Keith. It was a square plate rather than a flat board thankfully, I think the lighting made it hard to see the definition of the edges - blame my phone's camera. Cheers for watching.

      I would be a bit of a stretch to walk that from our apartment in Fuerteventura 😀. A good deal though.

    What is the temperature there this time of year? -Michelle

      @OutandaboutwithAndy  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Michelle it was around 22-24 degrees celcius (72-75F) in mid December.

      Perfect! We are in Florida where it is typically that same temp, but it has not been. Low 40's at night mid to high 50's in the day. At least the last couple of days we've had some sun.@@OutandaboutwithAndy

      It was OK, nothing special. The restaurant was very popular with groups of blokes having fry ups - along with a pint for breakfast and it was only about 9.30 😆! Now that's an early start 🍺

      Thanks Shumi, it wasn't bad, but it wasn't fantastic for the money either. As I said in the review, it was all edible. I have had worse here in the UK, and it did come with a mug of tea.
