Hello PA, I'm a novice reloader. I heard you say you put a light crimp on your bullet. Question - how do you know how much a crimp you put on the bullet. could you please explain that. maybe even do a video on crimping. Thanks and God bless.

Thank you so much for watching my video and commenting! I really appreciate it! Well as far as the crimp goes that’s kind of a hard thing to show on a video. On the other hand I can explain it as simply as this. Once the bullet is seated, take your ring finger “ its the most sensitive one .lol” and feel the lip of the casing where the bullet is now seated. You should feel almost a sharp edge. Well set your crimp die up in small increments. Raise the ramp until you don’t feel any resistance. Then lower your ram and adjust a little bit more. Take your time with this because once you crimp to much your done. Gentle increase the die until you feel it slightly start to crimp the bullet. Once you feel that take out the bullet from the press and again use your finger. You should hardly feel the edge. The crimp is only there to hold the bullet in place. Excessive crimp equals excessive pressure. I hope that this helps. Take care and stay safe! God bless you too
