Korovitsyn (b.1956) graduated from Leningrad Conservatory, he is member of the Union of Russian composers, the prize winner of the international melody competition and of the competition "Spring of Romance". He is the author of a number of collections issued by different publishers.

Very beginning made me think it was Bohemian Rhapsody in the wrong key. Enjoyable pieces that remind me of early days learning the piano. Nostalgic.

From this channel I began to get to know this talented and unknown composer, but above all to appreciate him. And here he is reappearing in this wonderful post, in this collection of songs, with a sparse, essential, but profound writing at the same time. The op is famous. 39 ("Children's Album") by Tchaikovsky; I believe that this work by Korovitsyn belongs to the same vein, without being less than the more famous composer; therefore the performance of this work is meritorious for two reasons: for having unearthed a small masterpiece of the genre (which has its apex in "Paraphrase on a Theme of the Dance 'Apple'), but also for the beautiful performance, to which the good Julian got used to us...
The unpretentious, humble, close to the ground, yet wise and interesting, side of classical. You are Doing a great job showing us these knowledgeable (who am I kidding; masterful) interpretations illuminating beyond the complex and overwhelming Classical World currently available to netizens.

Вот чего не отнять у Коровицына - это умение простыми средствами нарисовать привлекательную картину.
Лично мне больше всего нравится "Старый порт (Марсель)" - его в этом цикле нет. Он для флейты и фортепиано. Но картина потрясающая!
Играл в классе флейты эту вещь с тремя (!) учениками... Собственно, так с творчеством Коровицына и познакомился.

The movie music makers pretend to invent tunes, it seems often they just put together simple chords or copy uncopyrighted material... I just discovered a French composer, his piece called le Coucou, played slowly sounds exactly like a famous French movie song. The real composer created the music in the 18th century...

Or maybe it was the composer, when he was 45 years old, who had a tragedy in May?
From your military point of view the piece should have been called at least "Сорок пятый, Май"
