Me too...lol. I am 56....and there are some songs that just hit harder now.....Pink Floyd/ Time is another that affects my psyche in new ways as I age.
@@Terri6868 , Dito. Just had my 60th birthday back on November 30th. Saw Seger live in 1981 at Market Square Arena in Indianapolis on his Nine Tonight Tour and it's still one of the best live shows I've ever seen, and I've been to over a hundred shows over the years of bands from the classic rock era. Seger's a great show!
I don't think anyone else could make feel a song like Bob Segar. He sings the story and you feel like you are right there with him. What an artist he is.
Thank God there are people like you to help this beautiful music not die off with Boomers. It would be sad for artists like this to disappear. Please spread the word💙
That solo embodies and reflects the memories of his youth. He considers and reflects on his youth. He recalls his strength, and solid principles as a young man. Great reaction.
I'm 74. Where did the years go ...? The loves, the camaraderie, the times, the music ... It seemed to go on and on at the time ... but, ... looking back ... it was a flash, and it was gone ... But, good memories, good times, good friends and good lovin' ... I'd buy another ticket to go 'round once more ...wouldn't you.
Yep...66 and if that ticket booth was open, I'd be right behind you in line! Fun, though, watching these kids get to enjoy this great music for the first time!
Oh yea, I'm 60, now. My cousin called me the a while back asking for my help organizing the annual family reunion. Told him "the old guys do that, I haven't been in year's!" He replied "they're all dead asshole, we're the old farts now, who else will do it!"
Bob Seger is a master at creating music that everyone with a heartbeat can feel and relate to...I have loved his music since the moment I listened to his live album, "Live Bullet" back in 1976...The icing on the cake is that his live shows are heaven on earth. Along with Bruce Springsteen, he is at the very top of the list of iconic storytellers in rock n roll history....
Iam 65 and this man has written my life story thru the years brings back so many memories . The stories he has told in his music ate just as relevent today.
"turn the page","against the wind","fire lake","shame on the moon","we've got tonight","famous final scene" are fantastic ballads. "Rambliin gamblin man","Katmandu","sunspot baby","her strut","come to papa","Betty Lou's getting out tonight", and"rock and roll never forgets" are more up tempo harder rockin classics by Bob Seger ☮️
Bob Seger from blues to country to rock and roll with poignant lyrics that are simultaneously compact yet dense. Add on one of the best backing bands in history and an amazing voice = Legend
LOVE IT!!!!! Check out “Roll me away” “Old time rock and roll” “ Against the wind” “Rock and roll never forgets” and “Hollywood Nights” oh and there are so many more!!
Bob Segar is all about chronicling your own life. Reflections of the past and looking to a future. This is why he's more important to all of us than Pink Floyd's Time. Or maybe they're the same weight, I'm not sure. Yes, everyone dies. Did they live happily? We all need this.
Growing old...some people handle it better than others...I, unfortunately am not one of them😔 growing up in the 70’s, early 80’s...back when I knew it all(so I thought) and no one could tell me nothin. Now when I listen to music I grew up to, it somehow makes me homesick for my childhood.
Bob Seger - from 2 + 2 to Night Moves this guy was the Detroit Boy that was always Running Against the Wind. Like a Rock he was Shamed by the Moon so Turn the page to find more hits.
Chod you are the best on the net! You can spend weeks just on Bob Seger! I suggest you do. His Night Moves, Stranger In Town and Against the Wind albums every song is great off those albums. Then you can sample his many other albums. The one song you NEED to listen to is Come To Papa
Excellent reaction for my favorite all time performer! Thank you. Big rabbit hole you’ve entered. So many hits and each sounds different than the other, some make you dance, some cry and some cause you to want a drink. I’d suggest Shame On The Moon (his biggest financially though not as well known), Famous Final Scene, Turn the Page, Mainstreet, Night Moves, Brave Strangers and FireLake, though he has many many more hits.
Great lyrical/musical reaction. I never thought about it as deeply as you did there. The Chevy thought was touching. FYI, Chod, honestly bro, there are 20 more good Bob Seger songs. If not more.
*New Subscriber* This song could be an Anthem for MS! I have MS and it stole my youth and my dreams!! I am also in Michigan where we call Bob Segar "Uncle Bob" he's from Ann Arbor ya know! Try "Come to Poppa" "Watch her Strut" Thanks for your review..I'll be back!🎧😎🇺🇸
A few years back, I got laid off, and I've since been trying to find another job. I actually have a job interview pending, and I don't know how it's going to work out yet. I've been thinking back to the carefree days of my youth when I never had to worry these kinds of things, so this song really resonates for me right now. As for the song's arrangement, according to the album's liner notes, the musicians included Dawayne Bailey on acoustic guitar, Rick Vito on electric guitar, Chris Campbell on bass, Russ Kunkel on drums, Bill Payne on piano and Craig Frost on organ. The choir-like backing vocals are sung by Douglas Kibble, Izora Armstead and Martha Wash (the latter two were a duo called "The Weather Girls"). And the first time I heard this song was on Chevy Truck commercials during my childhood, and according to the song's Wikipedia article, Chevy used it for their truck commercials from 1991 until 2004.
Went and bought a chevy and referenced "like a rock" to the carsales man, and the dude gave the blankest stare ever. idont think he knew what i was talking about.
This is a great video. Some videos are crazy and just fun to watch. But some videos make no sense. In the early 80's there are a lot bad videos. That was when MTV started and if you had a song out a music video was a must.

The older you get, the more meaningful this song becomes. (I’m old. Trust me.)

Rick Vito ripped those 2 guitar solos in one take. Bob Segar said it was the most amazing thing he ever saw.
Rick vito is just a fng beast on those solos, amazing playing!!!!
20 years. Where’d they go.
I don’t know.
Where did 40 years go. .....?
I just turned 61 they went quickly!
The man's a genius in his art.
one of the greatest rock voices ever.
Bob is just a great songwriter, his lyrics hit you in just the right spot.
Loved Bob for many Decades. One of America's Great Songwriters and Performers!

Great reaction.
Bob Seger has an extensive catalog of great music..Well worth the time to listen.
Listen to anything by him. They are all good. The best!
Always loved this song. However, the older one gets, the more relatable it becomes...

Fun fact Bob gave this song to Chevy & they used it for better than 10 yrs. 👍
He's a good Detroiter.
Love Bob and my chevy trucks
The guitar playing in this song gives me the chills every time!

True. Rick Vito absolutely nails both slide guitar solos and the tasty fills.

The story in Detroit is that GM gave Bob 10 mil for the rights to use and he gave the ten longest serving band members 1 mil each.

This song gives me goosebumps EVERY TIME.The older you get,the more you understand.Give Roll Me Away a listen.
This song and Night Movesbrings me to tears every time
As far as I know he never let any other songs be used. He was born in Detroit, and did it as an homage to his home town industry...

Bob in the house!! Happy days! 💕
The video was fire. Close ups of him just killed it.
another Seger gem. Check out Jackson Browne's "The Load Out/Stay", another song that tells story.
I love those!
My teen years here and still rocking!!!
One of the great Story tellers. What an artist, one of the greats! 😎👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
No matter how good this song is, there is no substitute for a quality FORD TRUCK.
Bob is GOLD, Cheers from Canada
Nothing better than Bob Seger!! Thanks for another great reaction!
I think Seger is a better story teller than Springsteen. Lyrics are more straight forward. Bruce is good too, but I like Bob's voice.
