Hey josh i love what ya doing! I recommend two event controllers one to power your reactors on (when low power say sub 20% stored or over 50% usage) and another for off (when over say 50%-80 stored(Not Usage)
YAY! I'm now the godfather for Grindy. 😁 After that bit of combat, you noticed you were quite low on ammunition on the AoW. Did you manually transfer ammo to resupply or do you have a script that automatically stockpiles it's ammo to a specified amount when connected to a supply source? The new ship, just from looking at the shape of what you've built so far and knowing you intend a 2nd level on it, plus you mentioned maybe using Grindy to drill while still connected, gave me a mental image of a turtle.. hehe. Give the first level a very tall ceiling so Grindy can fit mostly inside, place the connector on pistons to extend Grindy for grinding/launching and retract for travel. Then it's own connector in the back to connect to stations/bases would be the tail. You'd have to paint it mostly greens, with some accent color. Too bad you can't limit 'build & repair' from repairing neutral/enemy grids... but that was kinda funny that it was repairing the ship you were fighting. Knowing how long & tedious it was to build the space elevator I hesitate to suggest it, but what about encasing it in armor blocks for more protection? Now I'm curious if the game could handle (provided you can generate enough power for it) placing shield generators periodically along the elevator instead.
Congrats! :) I just have everything conveyed up so I'm hoping it's pulling ammo as needed. If it needs a script to do that, I might have to research one. I like the turtle idea! I need to seriously re-work everything I have on there thus far though. I like that the Build and Repair will pick up items that drop from combat (the blue beams instead of the yellow ones) but I definitely don't like the repairing of enemy ships 😭I think this was the first episode where I had substantial damage to the Space Elevator so that seems to be an acceptable casualty rate for me 😂 If it happens more often, we'll consider some upgrades :)
the BOB's can be configured to grind enemy parts just as easily as repair them and can even target certain classes of parts as the turrets do ( power, weapons, propulsion....).
Hydrogen is great propulsion, but if you're transporting an Ion ship that kinda limits your means of mining to space / moons. Not so sure its the optimum combo but you do you M8. Enjoying the building sessions, do you have plans for exploration of other planets / areas?
Yeah I realized that :/ We might make a Grindy McGrindface Mk2 outfitted for Hydrogen so we can do interplanetary mining as well :) The new ship we're building will be our mobile base so we can roam the stars in search of new worlds. Stay tuned! 😊
The laser firing bringing power consumption to 80% with all those batteries and reactors is quite something.
Also, for the sorter, just blacklist stone. The only thing in that cargo container/refinery you do not want to put back into circulation is stone.
I knew there was a better way to do that, thank you!

I've had a couple ideas come to mind for using event controllers and I think I gotta add yours to the mix! Thank you!
