I love Dan. I think its so refreshing how the new boyfriend isnt some huge asshole and Ann isn't a thing to be taken back. Like she can be happy with a new dude and Eddy can be cool with him and thats ok. Like relationships ending and the character just moving on is so rare in stuff like this idk.
I remember Tyrone Magnus making this big deal about how there's no "woke" scenes in Venom 2, evidently having missed the part where Venom, covered in glitter and rainbow lights, gives a speech to a room full of people about how proud he is to be seen, and how happy it makes him not to have to hide who he is 🙄 Good job!
This isn't the main point but something else I love in these movies is Dan. Eddie does listen to his medical expertise and also acknowledges that Dan is a good guy and makes Anne happy. I like them all getting along way better than the story just being about winning back the girl. Also Venom is 100% open to poly.
Huh. Never thought I'd consider Venom to be cute bf material but here we are I guess. Now I want to see the movies if only to watch the entire breakfast scene in context (which already made me audibly go "aaw" based on the three seconds included in your essay).
Awesome analysis! I know I’m late but I just wanted to say that the church also acts as a mirror to the comics! The church window is very reminiscent of the church that the symbiote and Eddie get married in in Venom #150 :)
Fantastic video ! The part about domestic abuse in the second film is interesting to me because, while it is VERY unpleasant with the humorous tone it's trying to keep up, I think that scene manages to highlight a point that is more visible throughout the comics that often goes untalked about. And it's that, although Venom and Eddie are essentially perfect for each other, there is an inherently toxic dynamic that will always exist between them. I think it could have been presented in a more nuanced fashion, but also that the way it is presented sort of makes the point more apparent, in a way.
This analysis actually fixed Movie Carnage for me. In most iterations there's zero separation between Cletus and Carnage, they're literally one. So this movie changing thay was weird. So the idea that Cletus and Carnage are still the same person, but Carnage is like a second personality and a manifestation of Cletus' violent tendencies, is really clever!

I know it's late, but I recommend reading some of Venom comics because, boy, if you think this film is queer, the comic is fascinatingly queer. It's almost criminal how Venom it's ignored by Marvel as their LGBT representation because their series are really good when it's about the relationship between Eddie and Venom work. How they manage their bond throughout their lives as both damaged people or alien due to their circumstances. How they try to find their place on Earth with their anti hero antics even though everyone is scared for who Venom are. Even after all the screaming about eating Peter's brain Venom are still pining towards him even though Spider-man dicarded them in the church because this goo are so fucking gay. They love their goddamn himbos. Also, I think their origin story is so sick, a suicidal man wounded up together with black goo on the church with both as depressed being is *chef kiss

After seeing the first two Venom movies, the second one had a much bigger impact on me. It was in a way the last piece of the puzzle I needed and everything after that made sense to me I was happy with myself I knew who I really was. Well, I will say my journey hasn't fully ended on that yet but that's another story. Though I still feel kinda sad and annoyed, that some people don't see it like that, and they overlook that whole thing. It's either they overlook it or worse are disgusted by it and say that "they were never gay in the comics" which is also a lie because they have been gay since the 90s run. Venom: The Hunger proves it so much that they are a couple, same with stuff like the 2016 and more recently the 2022 run of the new Lethal Protector comics. Venom 3: Venom meets the gohost of the famous spanish transexual (word used by herself) celebrity called La Veneno (The Venom). It’s a little cute, sure, but at that point in the story I think he should’ve said it with a little more conviction. But hey, hopefully they’ll save that for the third film!

@@pimscrypt I've watched your latest video it was very nice😌 But I specifically meant like queer readings, I found this very heart warming, I want more 😆
It took me half a video before I liked this video, while I'm a fan of the Venom relationship in the comics (and movies), I'm not in complete agreement on your opinions/allegories or at least not the once you have in the beginning of this video and first movie. On one hand I love the Venom and Eddie Brock relationship that is in both comics and movies but I don't agree on some of the subtexts you pointed out, mainly from the beginning of that movie also Venom having a gender at all, seems to me to be wrong somehow, however I ended up enjoying your video, even though I started out not liking it at all. So disagreements aside, thanks for sharing your thoughts on one of the best Superhero movies in my opinion.
I think that your critique is completely fair, especially the part about Venom having a gender. From my point of view I think the films treat the two very much as boyfriends specifically. But that really just is my interpretation. There’s a clearly fluid aspect to his identity, as mentioned. I’m glad you liked the video, despite your disagreements!
YOU. NEED. MORE. VIEWS. In the sense that more people should be watching your videos. Though of course you can have as many opinions as you'd like, if you're into that kind of thing.
I'm gonna say it: Venom REALLY united the LGBTQIA community that day, and as a Bi-Ace (Bisexual and Asexual) person myself, I just felt pride seeing that.
i mean kinda. he doesn't really fit into the same boxes humans do. he is a dude primarily because his first host was a dude. venom as in the villain combo of eddie and the symbiote are they them if you wanna spin it that way
This sort of feels like a thermian argument. Sure, Venom could've linked with literally anyone, human or animal, but the *story* is about him linking with Eddie specifically. And considering how the story of the films play out there is a whole lot of queer coding involved as a result.
Can you stop claming shit as queer we dont care and you don't need to celibate it ive watch all the movies and dont see anything gay about it there two people that figure out how to get along and learn to count on each other when they need it the most

Amazing video as always
Why the fuck aren’t you more well known wtf
Commenting on all your videos cause apparently the algorithm likes engagement and WOW are you a hidden gem
It took me half a video before I liked this video, while I'm a fan of the Venom relationship in the comics (and movies), I'm not in complete agreement on your opinions/allegories or at least not the once you have in the beginning of this video and first movie.
On one hand I love the Venom and Eddie Brock relationship that is in both comics and movies
but I don't agree on some of the subtexts you pointed out, mainly from the beginning of that movie
also Venom having a gender at all, seems to me to be wrong somehow,
however I ended up enjoying your video, even though I started out not liking it at all.
I loved this. Thank you.

YOU. NEED. MORE. VIEWS.
In the sense that more people should be watching your videos. Though of course you can have as many opinions as you'd like, if you're into that kind of thing.
Shit. I need to watch these movies now.
Highly recommend it!
Venooooooooom!!!111 XD I love these movies so, so much
I could never have imagined them being this entertaining, but they one hundred percent are - and I’m extremely happy about it!
@@pimscrypt Right?! Same! ^.^
I'm gonna say it: Venom REALLY united the LGBTQIA community that day, and as a Bi-Ace (Bisexual and Asexual) person myself, I just felt pride seeing that.
Is this satire?
i mean kinda. he doesn't really fit into the same boxes humans do. he is a dude primarily because his first host was a dude. venom as in the villain combo of eddie and the symbiote are they them if you wanna spin it that way
This sort of feels like a thermian argument. Sure, Venom could've linked with literally anyone, human or animal, but the *story* is about him linking with Eddie specifically. And considering how the story of the films play out there is a whole lot of queer coding involved as a result.
@@pimscrypt thats true
Duh.
Pffff 😂😂😂😂 the moment I saw your face was the moment I knew something was wrong here
Carnage is very mediocre if not outright bad. I enjoyed the first film but the sequel is a waste of time.
That's gonna be a hard disagree from me.
Can you stop claming shit as queer we dont care and you don't need to celibate it ive watch all the movies and dont see anything gay about it there two people that figure out how to get along and learn to count on each other when they need it the most
My dude Eddie literally gets pregnant with Venom’s baby in the comics.
Nah nah nah vanom is not gay stop make Eddie and venom looks like gay it's just not happening 😂😂😂
very good video ( *︾▽︾)
i had a blast watching the movie with two friends in the cinema!
also, Venom: Let There Be Carnage is a love story and i love that, it's fucking fantastic!!
New subscriber here, recently watched all your videos, so it was a joy to see a new one from one the next day ^_^
I love your content and look forward to any more you make xxx
Also being a transfem, I LOVE all of your feminine presentations, the hair, the makeup, the clothes, amazing
Thank you so much, that is so kind! I'm really glad you're liking my stuff, and I hope you'll enjoy what comes next just as much!
