Guys, as I said in the video, I shortened the songs I had already reacted to so that the video wasn’t 2 hours long. All of the songs I hadn’t heard yet are full length
I've been in hospital for heart surgery, I blink and you are at 115K!!!!!! Holy sht bruv! Congrats I was here in the 2.5k days. Good on you, your Chanell is awesome, well done young fella.
According to Hetfield, The Struggle Within was written during the band's last day in studio. He admitted that the “struggle within” was the trouble he had coming up with lyrics for the track. He also admitted that, looking back, the song also represented the anger that he was feeling at the time. That’s what let out James loud scream near the end of the song. It is also the shortest song on the album.

God knows there's plenty of those smh. I don't know which is worse, haters or weirdos who like to pretend they're a toddler, & their partner is ok with it!🥴 Thankfully, as I'm watching his reaction to that short video, seeing the look on MB's face made me laugh instead of puke! It was very disgusting, but his reaction was perfect!
Sacknut here... Enter Sandman and the whole album takes me back.... Literally, listened to this when I jumped into Kuwait during Desert Storm (and it was a night jump to boot)
@@bertinernie I know they're just words, but I mean it. Thank You. I have a few vet friends, and I am always amazed at hearing what you've gone through, and speak as if it's nothing. Unbelievable man. (do you remember me from patreon?) I'm really glad you're still here at MBTV.
Now that you’ve heard the whole album, you definitely need to check out their documentary on making this album called “A year and a half of Metallica” the whole recording process for this was awesome to see.
Albums that NEED to be listened to in one sitting... The Who - Quadrophenia Pink Floyd - The Wall Pink Floyd - Dark Side Of The Moon Queensryche - Operation Mindcrime 👍
God that failed and my friend of misery, glad you like them! 2 of their most underated songs! Seen them live 4 times, and the one time they played the god that failed was unreal and unexpected! (Was up there with orion when they did whole puppets album live for 20 years)
"Sad But True" will always be the 'Tallica song I remember opening the concert (I forget which show cuz I saw them several times live).. but the bass hit so hard in my chest I could hardly breathe. So fuckin awesome!
I discovered Metallica and all metal music when my husband was overseas during Desert Storm. Listening to that heavy music got me thru those terrible months.
My Friend Of Misery is a MASTERPIECE, many people agree it is (somehow lol) their most underrated song! Please react to INAMORATA live in CDMX, best song from the new album 72 Seasons, an 11 minute masterpiece that many consider My Friend Of Misery pt.2!! I know you will love it!!
Hell yeah man...I thank you from the bottom of my heart for watching you hear it for the 1st time and making me love the songs even more. God bless from South Dakota America!!!!!
When I lived with my dad, he used to wake me up on the weekends by blasting this album in the next room over, to the point that the walls shook. What a way to be woken up. 😅
Dude, you NEED to listen to Kill ‘em All… I mean, you need to listen to anything Metallica touches really… I’d love a reaction on every album to be honest man lol I love the impact Metallica can have on us, they are truly special 🤘
Hey MollyBoy🤘🏼🖤 just a quick fyi..re Nothing Else Matters, there’s a great interview video you should check out sometime Howard Stern Show Metallica, Miley Cyrus, Elton John, you get the story of how these seemingly random artists came together, and during the interview, Elton John calls this song one of the greatest ever written, and it touches Papa Hett the point of tears. I even teared up a little lol it’s a great clip, enjoy!😎💫
Check out Inamorata, it is the spiritual sequel to "my friend of misery" it is slower, however it is an amazing song and MetallicA's longest song to date at 11:10.
This album is tied with Wolfenstein 3d, because me and my brother played these songs endlessly while we played it. It was my first 1st-person shooter, and it blew us away. When we were kids it was Motley Crue's Shout at the Devil album and Mike Tyson's Punchout. By the time Doom came out, it was White Zombie's La Sexorcisto.
I thought the same thing about that riff in Through the Never. He’s doing a lot with his right hand in that riff. Switching up from open to partial palm mute to full palm mute and back. Great stuff.
Bro, you don't even understand how much I've been looking forward to your reactions to Don't Tread On Me, Through The Never, and The God That Failed! Don't Tread took quite a while to grab me, too, tbh. It eventually became one of my favourites.
Check out Garage Days Re-Revisited. Not to be confused with Garage Inc. Also, if you have time, A Year and a Half in the Life of Metallica is the documentary of the recording of the black album.
The year after this came out I was spending a year or two hitch-hiking back and forth to bristol from london for college with the Black album on a loop-playing walkman... I know and love every NOTE of this album. The soundtrack to so many miles.
Oh this will be a good one. This is the album that got me into metal in the Summer before 8th grade (that's 13/14 yrs old here). It's what got me playing guitar (along with Nuno's insane sh*t from the band Extreme), and it helped me plot what I wanted for my future even further in a sense with "Wherever I May Roam." There's an RV in the driveway right now I mean to fix up so I can finally live that song, and half an hour ago I unpacked and put the Gibson Acoustic I learned these songs on back on a stand in the studio. 1968 J-50 for anyone who GAF, it was in the attic when I got to earth. I was in high school in 1998 and we used to play this cd in the locker room Friday nights before football games. This is bringing back so many memories. Thank you!!!
This came out (I think) my first year in high school. I had gotten into them after ...and justice for all came out. I thought this album was sick. I can remember obsessing about learning the guitar parts (as well as I could). This brings back great memories.
This album came out when I was a senior in high school! Saw them 2nd time in 1991. I remember no radio play for them n no music videos until "One". If you wanted to hear them, you had to buy the album or go to the show. I did both! Many hits on this record! Alright Mollyboy. You have to do Kill em All. 1st record I heard.
This was the album that introduced me to the band. It was 1994, and I was on the bus with my friend. He told me to take this home and listen to it. I borrowed it for the night, listened, and took it back. He looked insulted. "Take it home this weekend, and LISTEN to it" And so I did. I remember skipping through at first, and then I found "Of Wolf & Man" and that was it. The Gadsden flag also features the motto "Don't Tread On Me" which is the name of the Black Albums sixth track. Peace 😍✌️ Gary 😃 Great Reaction👍
A lot of thrash metal purists and elitist hate on it, but it's FAR from everyone. In fact, I'd definitely call the haters nothing more than an extremely vocal minority.
It's possible that never has a screencap encapsulated the experience of hearing this album as well as yours has. An uncle who was trying to influence me to study rock music gave me this to listen to when I was a teenager and I can freshly recall just how transported and amazed I was by the compositions. I did not have a mirror but I am certain I made the same face as you did at some point.
I'd heard this whole album non-stop one whole drunken wknd in a "hoopty" w: 5 Navajo dudes & chicks driving from their 'Big Rez' in Arizona to & from Albuquerque, New Mexico for a Metallica concert, so I learned to hate this album, & yet I also learned to love it with it's crazy memories, especially because those friends of mine back there & then have all passed away...RIP '90's...🤘
I've never sat through a whole album review before. But this album with you Mollyboy was worth the ride. I'm a Metallica fan but never bought this album. I'm buying it tonight! Thank you for reintroducing me to a killer album!
This is the album that got me into the genre. I remember listening to them back in the early 90's for the first time, a friend let me borrow his cassette tape and then of course seeing the "Enter Sandman" music video on MTV. Seeing the music video for "One" was mind blowing. I love "Through the Never" off this album.

100% agree about the solo in The God That Failed. There's something about it that sounds like Kirk made it up on the spot, which was rare for him back then.
Good to see a young one getting into mettalica. This was the album that got me stuck on them when i was a kid. This and pantera far beyond drivin are 2 albums that every song was awesome
A big chunk of this Album was recorded with producer Bob Rock in Vancouver - Metallica's The Black Album was recorded in part at Little Mountain Sound Studios in Vancouver, British Columbia - 1988\89 Motley Crew also recorded Dr Feelgood there ( girls girls girls is about the Vancouver Strip Club Scene ) - Both Albums went on to become both bands best selling albums .
The Album that made me have my windows down, pick up my buds, then just Cruise all night up and down Main Street every weekend while I was in Highschool! This and then Bohemian Rhapsody from Queen after Wayne's World came out! Lol Great Time with old Friends! Black Album, one of the Greatest Full Albums of All Time! Rock On, ✌️🤟⚡

My friend of misery is what made me buy a bass and not come out of my room till i had it down! Black album is work of art and never gets old.
I wish that J could have gotten his wish. While the lyrics were a good fit, it would have absolutely crushed as an instrumental.
The production on this album is ridiculously good👌🏻
Bob Rock made a masterpiece with this album!
According to Hetfield, The Struggle Within was written during the band's last day in studio. He admitted that the “struggle within” was the trouble he had coming up with lyrics for the track. And just before that in 1990 ACDC made a huge comeback with the Razors Edge album! 90 and 91 was hard rock bliss!

Don't forget Dire Straits,Michael Jackson,Rolling Stones,REM,Genesis,etc.......
...Megadeth - Rust in Peace
Red Hot Chili Peppers - Blood Sugar Sex Magic
The "don't tread on me" is a rebellious American slogan and battle cry - hence the coiled snake on the front of the album.
It's also the slogan and logo on one of the battle flags we used during the Revolutionary War.

The Who - Quadrophenia
Pink Floyd - The Wall
Pink Floyd - Dark Side Of The Moon
Queensryche - Operation Mindcrime

Watched Dark Side of the Moon reaction on the Patreon. It was such a great time!
Not everyone's cup of tea but also Slayer-Reign in Blood
