Rusty is gonna provide you with the next 2 weeks of videos . I would try this knife even though I’m not a fan of assisted knives . Thanks for the video !! Take care KC
That is hilarious. Great analogy. Trust me I've been talking to them on the back end trying to figure out when I'm going to get one. But I I have to give the people variety. Lol. Thank you
Enjoyed the review. It was very fair. I think the look is different enough that it loses the squid look. I don't know that it could be called anything else but to me blocking the area with the lanyard area it loses that look. It has always up to this variant looked like a squid. Can't say that on the assisted verdion.
i got the regular squid, but it dosent say squid on the blade and dont say CRKT in clip holder, i buy it new at walmart (it was on teh clerance seccion)... is and older vercion or what going on ???
I'd have to look but I'm pretty sure all of mine have crkt on the blade. If it says that then it's probably real. They've done all of the other stuff like the clip and everything different in different releases. Thanks
You made the Pilar comparison, do you think you'd like this Squid if it were similarly bigger? If they had changed something more significant in addition to the assist?
If they were able to make it bigger and still keep the squid look which I think they lost in this model then yes. I mean there's nothing super wrong with it, I just don't like assisted, and I don't think the tweaks stay true to the design. Thank you
hmm interesting. I really like the new design, I like the blade better, i like the bigger, flatter lanyard hole, and i dig the flipper tab. but i have never found an assisted knife that ive really enjoyed.
I'd like a Squid Assist in D2 or 14C28, with G10 on the non-lockbar side. I have two current non-assist Squids - basic entry model which has a very weak detent, and latest G10 model with an almost impossible to overcome detent. Quality control - consistency - leaves much to be desired. Design is sweet though.
Yeah well said. It is definitely one of my favorite designs, but you are right that time to time it is very inconsistent. Well hopefully they'll come out with one that we both love soon. But I still prefer non-assisted. Thanks
I also have 3 squids. One of them is the assisted. Thats the one i like most. I like assisted knifes. I have several from benchmade too. For me..assisted knife is quicker ans easier to use. Maybe is just me.
I removed the clip as it just doesn't fit this knife. Try it , this small knife goes well into your coin pocket anyways and I get a solid 3 finger grip now. Much more comfortable.
I have bought 2 original grey stone squids because I gave my 1st to my daughter. 😊 I like the original design much better. What’s the point of making such a small knife assisted?? I don’t know. I think there are some great options for design extensions. Assisted isn’t of them, IMO.

Yeah I hear you Jason. I feel that way about the Lanny, but I think in this case I would rather have the non-assisted squid than this one. Thanks.
Oh yeah, and Rusty is awesome. He did exactly that. The next two or three weeks will be a lot of his knives
It’s 👍
Great review! I love my squid. I think I'm ready to get the assisted open. Thanks.
Awesome. It's good for sure. Thanks
Love the assist version but I z removed the clip. I like it better now. Give it a try 👍
The squid is a classic for sure. I would go non assisted as well don't mind assisted necessarily but would prefer to not have it. Great review 👍
Yeah, I mean if there's an option to not have assisted, then I will always choose the model without the assisted opening. Thanks
I feel like Allen Iverson. We’ve got the Toor folders coming out, and we’re talking about “practice”
Instead, we’re talking about Squids 😂

I agree totally. They changed it a bit too much for me. But it's a good knife for those who would like it. Thanks

The Squid is a fun little knife for sure! I dont think the assist would change my mind too much!! Thanks KC!
Yeah I hear you. It's still a cool knife. I'm just saying that I prefer the manual ones like I already have. But it is cool. Thank you
Good review KC! Like you I don't care much for assisted knives, but it is a good knife for someone who likes it.
Oh yeah, if anyone likes assisted knives or doesn't mind them, this is the perfect knife for them. Especially if they like small knives. Thanks
hmm interesting. I really like the new design, I like the blade better, i like the bigger, flatter lanyard hole, and i dig the flipper tab. but i have never found an assisted knife that ive really enjoyed.
Cool. Thanks for watching. Yeah not big on assisted as it's not something I feel is needed.

I don't mind an assisted blade. But the grey looks so much better anyway.
I mean to each their own. But glad you like the gray. Thank you
The most appealing aspect of the new assisted version is removing the thumbstuds.
And see that's where you and I differ in that I prefer thumb studs over a flipper tab. But we're all different. Thank you

It's a great design. Yeah I can see that. That's why there's so many choices so everyone can have what they want. Glad you like it. Thanks
You need a Squidworth. It's not a bad little knife.
I'm not familiar with that one. I'll have to check it out
@@KnivesFAST Squidword remembered the name wrong. LOL

@@jasonbrown6686 You know it. Knew a youth Pastor that would throw random Spongebob Squarepants references into his sermons.

Very cool idea. Coming up with some of my small amounts as well. Excellent. Thanks
it is how i carry mine. no clip.

We are on the same page sir. The original squid is great but there's no need to assist it at all. Thanks
