Its Unreal Engine 5. Using Upscaling and FrameGen is a mandatory. Also Epic as the Devs of the UE5 say that over over again. You can't expect a game on the most demanding game engine to run on every potato PC. This is/was not the case with Black Myth Wukong or Stalker 2 in the future.
They’ve put out multiple patches and adding more optimization fixes in .2 they’ve been pretty open about everything people are just too lazy to look anything up. They see a game trailer buy it then get pissed that its not optimized even tho its been advertised as PRE ALPHA since before release
You’re spot on with all your points, although perhaps friendly fire should be half damage instead of no damage (every move matters) and there should be slight camo variations for each faction, just like soviets, Germans and US in hell let loose (and real life). No huge advantages, but if you train your eye to look for grey helmets over green for example ..
I 100% agree with everything you said in the video, especially the performance. I really think they shot themselves in the foot by using UE5, and making it towards high end pc's. The player base would be triple if it was available and performance went to at least mid pc's. Most people would rather have performance and good gameplay, over visuals. I haven't played for months because of performance, and I have a higher end pc, because its clunky and performance just makes it not possible to progress to later parts of the game.
Convoys and ambushes giving a reason to explore and a more exciting way to find keys and intel.. player vs player bounties after quest compleation.. WE NEED A REASON TO KEEP PLAYING! once you have compleated quests there is NOTHING to do other then help a low level faction member or just roam around pointlessly hoping to find some pvp.. faction based clothing to mitagate friendly fire. not sure why so much hate for heli system its realistic to come under fire when trying to leave a hot zone sure the bush camping needs fixing but i enjoy the thrill of exfil and its not rocket science to just run elsewhere and pick a diff LZ
Mara did say that they weren't planning on doing more faction diversity citing the excuse that " well in real life they use mostly the same stuff" no kidding dude that's because over half of the biggest PMCs are in NATO countries so they're gonna use, you guessed it NATO equipment. But according to their own lore, the factions should be using different equipment, Crimson Shield sounds like wagner group to me and you bet that they'll be using Russian guns. Mithras sounds like blackwater so that's going to be nato equipment and LRI is the oddball faction ran by Elon so it'll likely be using ad hoc equipment like pmcs in Africa using 7.62 M4s because ak47 ammo is so common there. If you want players to care about picking their faction you have to give them more than a patch on a uniform. It's like playing Planetside 2 but everyone is exactly the same except an emblem, no one will care.
Great video! Even tho, I don't agree with some recommendations or issues, it is always great somebody speak up their mind and tell what are the issues from their perspective. I have a good system, and %99 of the time game runs okay, but when that %1 happens in a critical moment, I lose everything that I grinded for last 30-50 mins, definitely annoying. Performance optimization should be top priority over everything else.
Optimization aside, they really need to make the movement feel less stiff, feels like you're just playing as a camera hovering around. Removing the heli's all around wouldn't be a bad idea either, there's no incentive to traverse around the map, people are just flying in naked to pick up their gear over and over.
Awesome video, with really great and well thought through comments. I raise tickets frequently to the developers with easy to fix stuff, but they always just write back with placating soothing answers that fix nothing. I love this game - I play it minimum 5 hours a day since launch. The community is amazing - helpful, mature, polite, no bad language etc - it will be such a shame to see this game die because the dev's are shaking with fear to make some simple, basic tweaks. One shot AI is getting really tiring to deal with. I'm rank 34 - I can shoot straight and fast, but getting instantly head-shotted from across the map by an AI with a crappy AK on iron sights when I'm on a meta M4 with a 6x Vudu scope that I've just used to pump 5 or so x $5 a piece AP rounds into the aformentioned AI is just silly.
Absolutely agree with all of this! Performance on #1 for sure, all my friends quit because of this so the only way ill ever get them back in the game is performance increase. and i dont mean a little increase, substantial increase. They are used to having 100 fps and good connection speed, they don't want to deal with the current state and i dont blame them.
Who ever talk to devs need to tell them that we should be able to pick any place on map where heli can land unless is forest or something, i really dont know how no one remember to do this
I think a more simple feature would be dedicated landing zones for factions and the rest at the location are community so if other faction is at your landing Zone you know for sure they're camping on purpose
How shall this work? What if your squadmate or another faction member calls a chopper to Lima1 and you just hop on? Shall you be blocked from hopping on?
@@thomash.537 you raise a good point tbh, maybe if you are in a group with friends you all would be restricted from re calling to L1 for a short period of time, if youre playing solo i think it would be fine if you got lucky with a random calling in a heli to L1 and just jumping on, providing theres enough seats of course
I'm torn on the performance thing. The game is early access and if they are claiming pre-alpha as another comment said, then pre-alpha is generally meant for stability to be good enough to test but not necessarily perfect. Generally at this stage you focus on getting your features in, then onto content, then polishing. If they spent 6 months polishing the game just to turn around and add some new features that cause problems again, now we turn a 2027 release into a 2037 release (exaggerating a tad bit I know). I hate "Early access" because it's too often used to quite literally release a demo when that's not really what it's for. I feel like early access should be for what MFG is doing. Getting a very early game out there so we can give our opinions as it expands, but performance being top priority is just going to delay the game more and more if it's too much of a focus.
Good video, For me i needed to see the fixes of.. Performance 1 zing bush Wookiee bots Flight time, i play games to chill and relax not sit in loading screens and flights. Especially now with delta and abi mastering user interfaces and load times. Its what frustrates with eft.
They haven't mentioned it but the been working on the performance with every hot fix an update I hold solid 60 fps that good rig launch I was getting 30-40 so it had improved

It would be very hard to play 30 fps or lower and hope they fix the game for others. I get an average of 100fps on epic settings 1440p and 1080p. I bet i would get the same fps on 4k.
I have played for over 800 hours and I couldn't agree more with your video please people do not I think the performance problem is your own PC I have done hundreds of tests with settings there is nothing you can do personally to improve performance the dimwits in the discord will have you believe it's your problem and you need to upgrade your PC if this is the case they should not be selling the game on steam advertising it as playable with a RTX 1080 graphics card I have a high end PC and still struggle with performance issues in the likes of tiger bay I love the game I think it has a great foundation to build off but I must admit I am now getting sick of lack of information Poor excuses now
They need to fix the terrible anti aliasing of this game, very surprised you didnt mention this at 9:02 - 10:11 as spotting is nearly impossible with the blurry pixelated anti aliasing in this game, like someone rubbed vaseline all over my screen.
I’ve never had performance issues with 2 different rigs. A 3060 with 16 g and a 4070s 32 g. Nor do any buddies have a ton of issues. I think a major issue is we have more broke ass pc gamers whining rather than upgrading.
next update will be chalk for sure, they’re so ready to bring night ops with zero performance updates. Every hot fix broke the game even more. And they got greedy by turning off game sharing on steam.
for me is: 1- less important: I want semi auto dmr... maybe put a decent 7.62x39 with a huge recoil but lower sks reset time IDK... 2-PVE mode must dissapear (progression should not be saved), we alredy have starting town that's basically PVE. maybe make a "scav" mode where you spown as those npc dudes you loot stuff and you go to an exstraction point and you get to transfer all your "scav" stuf into your PMC loker (this is to give "a chance" to those who have lost eweriting and must re build kits). 3-keep the free little birds exstraction system as it is are but add an expensive item like a "gps calling device" or similar that once consumed calls someting like a UH-60 Black Hawk orUH-1Y Venom to nearest LZ with door gunners that will only shoot enemyes that are wery near to the LZ or if they shoot and these gunners should be wery oppressive with theyr covering fire from theyr miniguns to the point that it would just be better for the enemy to hide and wait for them to go away. to call this helo from the base you just interact with a computer there (in the tent) and pay for it... also this bigger helicopter should be slower make a disticnt sound and fly higer so that players will be able to detect it from far away so they get warned and have time to clear the LZ and not get wasted if they are alredy engaged in a gun fight. ofc door gunners should only be active when landing and taking off and not during travel. UH-1Y Venom might actually be better than UH-60 as it's smaller (and more similar to little bird) and door gunners might just close doors in flight (so theycant use guns) and open them when you get the "30 sec till lading" message someting like "ETA 30 seconds, get to the guns scan for target" or "ETA 30 seconds, providng covering fire" ecc. Also bigger helo should be able to carry more ppl araund... So basically you pay to have a safe landing or exstraction for your squad or you go in free and fast but you risck of getting camped... just like in vietnam... 4- it would be cool to see who you killed during the session once you get to the base or end deployment. NOT in the field tho. 5-add faction chat

They are not gonna take out friendly fire, this is to be a " realistic " environment and sometimes there is friendly fire like real life. Landing zone camping yes it's true but realistically you are dropping on some LZs that are Hot zones like Lima 2 near the bunker it's normal that people may wait for you there because u can hear the chopper coming. Still, they should and will not take out Friendly Fire it takes out the immersion of the game and the realism in that. They should add safer LZs out of the Hot zone so u can leave the chopper safer.

The only thing they are going to add regarding teamkill is an "aggressor system" so if you shoot a friendly, you are going to be flagged as a Rogue PMC for a period of time. Anyone can then kill you and loot you, but if you die, you can't loot you body.

Wish I woulda reset an ran with yall. Goon an I ran it for a little bit the other day. As soon as you start playing again you instantly realize how much potential this game actually has. With it being new it’s understandable some things are okay to let slide bye. Biggest problem we had was doing tasks at hunters paradise.. trying to play stealthy and nerd out. Goin along the mountain edge to the north. Suppressed M4s shooting at over 100M.. we get in position to start picking off AI. One tap one then they all turn directly at us and just immediately delete us.. THROUGH TREES/ BUSHES FROM 100M +.. We sneak back and get out gear shits start popping off we make a break for the wall.. Goon is pretty jacked up. He’s healing I’m laying down cover. Then an AI comes from behind us… Goon down. I turn drop the AI and start searching for goon to give him aid. I find him get my meds situated for full on Combat Med McRib action… I’ve trained for this since I was a young child..😂😂 low and behold the option to check your teammate out would only pop up for half a split second occasionally.. I fondled my wounded teammate searching for the ability to bring him back into the action and no matter what the damn thing would not let me… that’s my main problem. If your making every move matter and there’s such an impact on first aid and being able to help somebody out because you giving them aid is faster than them doing it themselves… it needs to work.. a game like this it HAS to work.. Chooper times are irritating but I get over it.. Studders on a clapped out PC are hella stupid but I’ll get over it.. not being able to give somebody aid and just letting them bleed out because the game won’t let you heal them. . Can Not happen..
The no PID issue is bizzare given all the footage of what's happening in Ukraine, its obvious you need to be able to tell friendly from foe, yet.. not being able to tell is some how a feature.
Performance is good for me , 100fps running 4K everything max out . DEV need to fix AI and many basic stuff before bringing new stuff like night ect .. its just gona still be a broken game with nights woohoo lol . It is utopian to believe that Update 0.2 fixes or can fix all of the game's problems. The game is in early access for a reason. You shouldn't have any requirements like you would for a final game. This is far from practical. To the performance. GZW is a game based on Unreal Engine 5, the most hardware-hungry game engine on the market. You simply can't expect a game in early access to perform in an alpha status after 6 months like Valorant and Co. Upscaling is also mandatory regardless of the resolutions chosen, including FrameGen in higher resolutions and settings. This is also expressly recommended and specified by Epic, the developer of Unreal Engine 5. In addition, many of the points of criticism mentioned have already been addressed in the life streams or in the last live stream from September 26th. I'm sorry, but for me this video is not more than clickbait.
#1 issue is NOT performance. The game runs fine enough right now. #1 issue is the terrible terminator enemy ai that made everyone quit this game. You sound like one of those hardcore extraction shooter guys who are completely blind to the real issues this game has and why all the players left. I'll give you a hint, it's the enemy ai. not performance issues. Most people don't even play the PVP mode in this game. Everyone plays PVE. I gave you a thumbs down for the terrible idea of making us wait 5-10 minutes before we can play the game again and get back on a chopper. You must be actively trying to kill this game with your terrible ideas. That would make me rage quit and uninstall the game if I had a 5-10 minute timer pop up after I die and just want to get back to my body. All of your complaints and ides revolve around PVP which is NOT the focus of this game. Go play Tarkov and leave our PVE coop games alone.

I feel like maybe the LZ system or heli system could be scrapped and they could just have it to where u have to have some form of ticket or something which is a high tier item with low spawn rate to use helis, everyone else should have to run on foot. It’s nothing new, dayz has this and it makes PvP fun and death stressful if u have to run all the way back to ur body from base camp
no you might be able to play 10 hours a day but most poeple cant i dont wanne be running for 3 hours to have 10 min of fun gameplay and then be done for the day thats just dumb id rather die to lz camp sometimes than running across the map for hours to day to a guy in a bush
Some may disagree, but the HP system doesn't feel good at all. I can hit someone's torso 4, 5, 6 times and they're still up and about (AI who aren't wearing armor is the most dramatic). But because I didn't hit the vital organ directly, they're still running around. "It's realistic." Maybe, but it feels like shit. On the PvP you have the opposite problem. Armor needs to get buffed. It feels really bad to have the "best" armor and have extremely affordable ammo, just not care.
If the scope of the game is to have a realistic damage modeland you don't like the realism, then the problem isn't the damage model but you. I don't mean this as an insult or anything but maybe the game simply isn't for you. Other games are also realistic but have simpler damage models like Tarkov and Squad

I don’t dance or race but I can tell when someone is a good driver or a good dancer. The opinions are not just my own as stated and you can read the comments. What performance issues? I have a 4080 with 0 issues so if you have a 7k rig and get 15 frames that’s your fault something is wrong with your rig. All of the points you made are being addressed in the update so i dont get the point of your video. And why turn off friendly fire? Its a mil sim extraction shooter they’re addressing the team identifying in .2 dont kill your faction members its that simple
You will need to listen one more time my friend. Until the PID system is in place then there should be no friendly fire. Very simple concept there it’s 16 man teams. I played beautiful light yesterday (3 man teams) and they have a simple chem light PID system in place. I only get bad grams at Tiger bay and midnight sapphire, I probably have more resourceful people to contact about that issue than you realize and we have tried everything. Performance and content are the top two issues in any poll I have ever posted so you’re outnumbered there, but I’m glad you have truly had ZERO issues. This video came out before a lot of the points were touched on in their streams can’t see the future just yet 🫡

Its not that easy they need to do ai pathings to every place heli can land and it is not simple its complex and time consuming

i wouldnt mind them testing an LZ cooldown, say if you land Lima 1 and die, you cant redeploy to Lima1 for 10 mins.. just an example

its better if infil chopper detect lz have enemy presence....atleast 100mtr radius...and optional divertion of lz choices..or go hardlanding..

2-PVE mode must dissapear (progression should not be saved), we alredy have starting town that's basically PVE. maybe make a "scav" mode where you spown as those npc dudes you loot stuff and you go to an exstraction point and you get to transfer all your "scav" stuf into your PMC loker (this is to give "a chance" to those who have lost eweriting and must re build kits).
3-keep the free little birds exstraction system as it is are but add an expensive item like a "gps calling device" or similar that once consumed calls someting like a UH-60 Black Hawk orUH-1Y Venom to nearest LZ with door gunners that will only shoot enemyes that are wery near to the LZ or if they shoot and these gunners should be wery oppressive with theyr covering fire from theyr miniguns to the point that it would just be better for the enemy to hide and wait for them to go away. to call this helo from the base you just interact with a computer there (in the tent) and pay for it... also this bigger helicopter should be slower make a disticnt sound and fly higer so that players will be able to detect it from far away so they get warned and have time to clear the LZ and not get wasted if they are alredy engaged in a gun fight. ofc door gunners should only be active when landing and taking off and not during travel. UH-1Y Venom might actually be better than UH-60 as it's smaller (and more similar to little bird) and door gunners might just close doors in flight (so theycant use guns) and open them when you get the "30 sec till lading" message someting like "ETA 30 seconds, get to the guns scan for target" or "ETA 30 seconds, providng covering fire" ecc. Also bigger helo should be able to carry more ppl araund... So basically you pay to have a safe landing or exstraction for your squad or you go in free and fast but you risck of getting camped... just like in vietnam...
4- it would be cool to see who you killed during the session once you get to the base or end deployment. NOT in the field tho.

@@sosifox ppl also want to have good pvp... I wont risk my good gear to make a mission if i can go pve mod and use a ak 47 with sp bullet... Basically dont split the player base... I like games like this to be hard nasty and sweety as fuck... Just like real life firefight, they arent fair or plesant and should be fuking scary for ewerione... There aren't many games that can "simulate", even just a bit, that fear.

They are not gonna take out friendly fire, this is to be a " realistic " environment and sometimes there is friendly fire like real life. Landing zone camping yes it's true but realistically you are dropping on some LZs that are Hot zones like Lima 2 near the bunker it's normal that people may wait for you there because u can hear the chopper coming. Still, they should and will not take out Friendly Fire it takes out the immersion of the game and the realism in that. They should add safer LZs out of the Hot zone so u can leave the chopper safer.
Then give us a PID system we already have a compass and map. Just give the PID.

The only thing they are going to add regarding teamkill is an "aggressor system" so if you shoot a friendly, you are going to be flagged as a Rogue PMC for a period of time. Anyone can then kill you and loot you, but if you die, you can't loot you body.

Wish I woulda reset an ran with yall. Goon an I ran it for a little bit the other day. As soon as you start playing again you instantly realize how much potential this game actually has. With it being new it’s understandable some things are okay to let slide bye. Biggest problem we had was doing tasks at hunters paradise.. trying to play stealthy and nerd out. Goin along the mountain edge to the north. Suppressed M4s shooting at over 100M.. we get in position to start picking off AI. One tap one then they all turn directly at us and just immediately delete us.. THROUGH TREES/ BUSHES FROM 100M +..
We sneak back and get out gear shits start popping off we make a break for the wall.. Goon is pretty jacked up. He’s healing I’m laying down cover. Then an AI comes from behind us… Goon down. I turn drop the AI and start searching for goon to give him aid. I find him get my meds situated for full on Combat Med McRib action… I’ve trained for this since I was a young child..😂😂 low and behold the option to check your teammate out would only pop up for half a split second occasionally.. I fondled my wounded teammate searching for the ability to bring him back into the action and no matter what the damn thing would not let me… that’s my main problem. If your making every move matter and there’s such an impact on first aid and being able to help somebody out because you giving them aid is faster than them doing it themselves… it needs to work.. a game like this it HAS to work.. Chooper times are irritating but I get over it.. Studders on a clapped out PC are hella stupid but I’ll get over it.. not being able to give somebody aid and just letting them bleed out because the game won’t let you heal them. . Can Not happen..

The no PID issue is bizzare given all the footage of what's happening in Ukraine, its obvious you need to be able to tell friendly from foe, yet.. not being able to tell is some how a feature.
Performance is good for me , 100fps running 4K everything max out . DEV need to fix AI and many basic stuff before bringing new stuff like night ect .. its just gona still be a broken game with nights woohoo lol . And i also dont understand how it can take so much time to fix it . They sell many game at high price so they should have budget to hire dev and fix stuff quick

It is utopian to believe that Update 0.2 fixes or can fix all of the game's problems. The game is in early access for a reason. You shouldn't have any requirements like you would for a final game. This is far from practical. To the performance. GZW is a game based on Unreal Engine 5, the most hardware-hungry game engine on the market. You simply can't expect a game in early access to perform in an alpha status after 6 months like Valorant and Co. Upscaling is also mandatory regardless of the resolutions chosen, including FrameGen in higher resolutions and settings. This is also expressly recommended and specified by Epic, the developer of Unreal Engine 5. In addition, many of the points of criticism mentioned have already been addressed in the life streams or in the last live stream from September 26th. I'm sorry, but for me this video is not

#1 issue is NOT performance. The game runs fine enough right now. #1 issue is the terrible terminator enemy ai that made everyone quit this game. You sound like one of those hardcore extraction shooter guys who are completely blind to the real issues this game has and why all the players left. I'll give you a hint, it's the enemy ai. not performance issues. Most people don't even play the PVP mode in this game. Everyone plays PVE. I gave you a thumbs down for the terrible idea of making us wait 5-10 minutes before we can play the game again and get back on a chopper. You must be actively trying to kill this game with your terrible ideas. That would make me rage quit and uninstall the game if I had a 5-10 minute timer pop up after I die and just want to get back to my body. All of your complaints and ides revolve around PVP which is NOT the focus of this game. Go play Tarkov and leave our PVE coop games alone.

I feel like maybe the LZ system or heli system could be scrapped and they could just have it to where u have to have some form of ticket or something which is a high tier item with low spawn rate to use helis, everyone else should have to run on foot. It’s nothing new, dayz has this and it makes PvP fun and death stressful if u have to run all the way back to ur body from base camp
no you might be able to play 10 hours a day but most poeple cant i dont wanne be running for 3 hours to have 10 min of fun gameplay and then be done for the day thats just dumb id rather die to lz camp sometimes than running across the map for hours to day to a guy in a bush
How about helicopters have AI gunners that make sure your lz is clear. Problem solved.
Some may disagree, but the HP system doesn't feel good at all. I can hit someone's torso 4, 5, 6 times and they're still up and about (AI who aren't wearing armor is the most dramatic). But because I didn't hit the vital organ directly, they're still running around. "It's realistic." Maybe, but it feels like shit.
On the PvP you have the opposite problem. Armor needs to get buffed. It feels really bad to have the "best" armor and have extremely affordable ammo, just not care.
If the scope of the game is to have a realistic damage modeland you don't like the realism, then the problem isn't the damage model but you. I don't mean this as an insult or anything but maybe the game simply isn't for you. Other games are also realistic but have simpler damage models like Tarkov and Squad

What performance issues? I have a 4080 with 0 issues so if you have a 7k rig and get 15 frames that’s your fault something is wrong with your rig. All of the points you made are being addressed in the update so i dont get the point of your video. And why turn off friendly fire? Its a mil sim extraction shooter they’re addressing the team identifying in .2 dont kill your faction members its that simple

Until the PID system is in place then there should be no friendly fire. Very simple concept there it’s 16 man teams. I played beautiful light yesterday (3 man teams) and they have a simple chem light PID system in place.
I only get bad grams at Tiger bay and midnight sapphire, I probably have more resourceful people to contact about that issue than you realize and we have tried everything. Performance and content are the top two issues in any poll I have ever posted so you’re outnumbered there, but I’m glad you have truly had ZERO issues.
