    To dream the impossible dream
    To fight the unbeatable foe
    To bear with unbearable sorrow
    To run where the brave dare not go
    To right the unrightable wrong
    To love pure and chaste from afar
    To try when your arms are too weary
    The reach the unreachable star
    This is my quest, to follow that star
    No matter how hopeless,
    No matter how far
    To fight for the right
    Without question or pause
    To be willing to march into hell
    For a heavenly cause
    And I know if I'll only be true
    To this glorious quest
    That my heart will lie peaceful and calm
    When I'm laid to my rest
    And the world would be better for this
    That one man scorned and covered with scars
    Still strove with his last ounce of courage
    To reach the unreachable star

    And God said, "Let there be voices of angels on Earth so humans may have an idea what the music of Heaven sounds like." And so God blessed these men with amazing voices and the orchestra members with incredible talent. And we saw that it was beautiful.

    they hit the high note on the word "star" at the very end. Most singers bail out on that and stay level or go down.

    Funny thing about songs that get covered as often as this one. They get redone so often that people forget the original song. The original song was not melancholy or slow. It was upbeat - perhaps even more upbeat than this cover. I think they did this song beautifully.

    Pretty voice and extraordinary singing skill. Yet, I wonder if they understand what they are singing about. Let me put it this way, will a dreamer going through all these tough things sing like them? I don't think so.

    • @leetfeetman
      @leetfeetman 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Uh.. Excuse me? Do you really honestly believe that these fine fellows didn't work tooth and nail to get where they are? Do you think that they were just born into this life? Not a chance! The Music World is a very Cold, Harsh, and Grueling World! Do you think that all of our Music Icons were just amazingly or magically placed upon their thrones? No! Of course not! Every single one of them had to fight for their fame! They have had plenty of sleepless, anxious nights wondering if they got the audition, or not! Don't sully them just because they've made it! Walk a mile in their shoes, and you'll know what I mean.

    • @iMaDeMoN2012
      @iMaDeMoN2012 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Acorn Love Honestly, the flaws and voice variation are extremely important in a song of this nature. Any two Opera singers are meant to sound generic so that they are indistinguishable. It is not a moving rendition.

    • @leetfeetman
      @leetfeetman 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      iMaDeMoN2012 This is more of a "Beauty is within the eyes of the beholder" case between you and I. So I can't argue against your statement as I totally understand that sentiment.
      I am just defending the singer's positions and honor.
      Also, you must have a misunderstanding, my friend! If Everyone sung the same way, played their instruments the same way, conducted the same way, then Music would be very bland, wouldn't it?
      If you listen to two orchestras playing the exact same song, both renditions will be drastically different! They might be the same notes, but the note lengths, the tone, the volume, the quality, the tempo, the vibrato, and I can go on! will be drastically different!
      Heck! A conductor's mood totally changes the entire orchestra as well! It can be the EXACT same Conductor, and Members, but if one night he is happy, and the next he is sad, then the entire piece changes.
      Same can be said as true for the musicians! If a single Bass is feeling Sad on a Happy Tune, the Audience will pick up on it immediately as something is off. They might not know what exactly is off, but they will feel it.
      Music is an entryway into the soul. You can always feel a person's soul when they sing a song that "strikes a chord".
      You might not feel their emotions as this is not Live, but trust me, and believe me when I say, Listening to a song Live is much better than Recorded.
      You can't Record a person's soul. You can't record their emotions. Those things happen in the Ambiance, in the presence of them.
      TL;DR Ver.
      I can't argue against your first statement, but if you think that musicians of this caliber are not singing with their individuality, then you are wrong.

    • @iMaDeMoN2012
      @iMaDeMoN2012 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Acorn Love Art is all about creativity within a set of boundaries. Opera singing has such a strict set of boundaries that it is not possible to convey the emotion appropriate for the song. This is a recognition of the truth, not a slight.

    • @leetfeetman
      @leetfeetman 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      iMaDeMoN2012 Have you ever been to an Opera Concert? Have you ever listened to an Opera Singer first hand? Have you ever been trained to sing in any classical manner? Have you been vocal trained at all?
      You have quite the misunderstanding if you believe that.
      Classical music is anything but bland! If you truly believe that, then why are you here? Why are you listening to Andre Rieu?
      I've seen people cry at concerts because the orchestra put their full being into the music. I've felt the pure raw power that Orchestras and Choirs can put into their music.
      Classical Music is full of creativity! As I said, No two Orchestras, Members, or Conductors will play the same song the same way!

    Something that stood out to me during this rendition was the pronunciation. Why is it, when English speaking musicians sing in Italian or French or German, etc., pronunciation is so important, however, when these three professional tenors sing in English, it is acceptable for them to pronounce words dweam, bwave, to be villing to and so on? Also, the last note went flat.

      La escuché hace un tiempo en un antiguo video de su obra El hombre de la Mancha, extraordinario Richard Kiley, en Perú donde vivo , hace 50 años conocí a Patricia Ferrier , su segunda esposa y me comentó que se había casado con un actor maravilloso, ella enseñaba coreografía acá en PERÚ durante unos pocos meses que estuvo conociendo latinoamerica, año 1967.
