Absolutely right have been playing on challenging for years and I just started to play on heroic and yes it's not the same now I'm rearranging my builds and yes it's frustrating
@@Gemini-AkA-2Face keep up the grind! Optimize, optimize and optimize! RNG gods don’t really like to drop max rolls, mostly 99.99% of the time. Optimize your builds and you’ll have God Roll gear/weapons in no time.
Easy to get what you want... Keep grinding. Took 7months to get Lavoisier backpack with double crit, but now I have the best support tank build in the game
@AnthonyChilisGMMP or I could just lower the difficulty and not be a slave to the game, allowing for more time outside, with family and friends and working out.
A small bitt of advice when doing CP' don't call in reinforcements until you've cleared the area, this gives you chance to restock and get into position for when you do call in the green meanies and the 2nd wave attacks....
This! A 100 times this. I see this happen all the time. People call in reinforcements as soon as they rock up. So they have to face twice as many enemies without any chance to prepare themselves. I thought I was the only one that used some basic common sense.
@@derekmclellan7337 You don't face twice as many enemies at all. You just don't have time to restock and prepare to defend after taking out those first waves of enemies. The amount of NPCs will always remain the same no matter what.

Lol 3rd : Please, be Respectful to those who help you, I can't tell you how many times someone gets upset because I've not picked them up " Righ5 away " when they die it... im not invincible my dudes ... Best suggestion I have when experimenting with different builds or jumping to higher level is to carry the revive hive. Although dying is part of the game, it’s also a notice that more than likely something went wrong. I also use the striker drone so NPCs are occupied. Then pay attention to the game content. Different factions tactically respond differently. Find spawn points for strategic positioning. Determine which NPCs to take out first and at what range. But most of all determine what type of player you are. Learn your strengths and weaknesses. Adjust to each by choosing a weapon best suited to you. If all you’re doing is making an outline of the NPC maybe that LMG is wrong for you. Which is why a St Elmos is vital to, my apologizes, lower level players. I can say that because when I started my aim was horrid. Lastly be patient and methodical. By slowing the game down, it actually speeds it up as all the above becomes second nature and not “what do I do next”. My wife and I started on normal and were terrible players at first. Played 5 agents 1-30 but didn’t advance to tier system. Just started over. Finally, brought 6th agent to WONY and was at SHD level 250 when Project Resolve hit. Switched to HARD and currently we are at SHD 3450 and now playing challenging and a little heroic content. Point is there comes a time to be aggressive and step forward.
Learning process and be kind to yourself. Been running all red build for few month now. I play heroic only. Started with all blue and take off one blue at a time depending on how frequently I use med kit. Eventually got to all red. Using cover helped a lot
Brother. Much love and respect sir. Now let’s throw on a build and whip some Division ass! Haha this game is a grind, stop thinking this game is easy, it’s not. I’m at expertise 27%, rocked many a solo legendaries and I still melt. There’s a dude out there that kills solo legendaries and, guess what? He dies all the time but by doing so, he learns from it and gets better, rinse, repeat and listen to this man!! And grind!
I would say to find a build to your play style. I can't play striker builds cause it's not my play style. I play hybrid skill builds with glass cannon cause it's what fits me! Learning the content mechanics and NPC AI is key as well. Positioning in missions and open world is big as well, right now you deal the most damage long range so I lean towards that.
Agreed. Also, I play the game in conjunction either my build, skill builds for me are usually super squishy, so it’s more spy hunting. DPS, usually rocking a striker/obliterate chest AR build, I’m running and gunning. But agents have to remember; learn your weapons, take em to the range, I do it all the time, get a feel for your weapons of choice. I love the range, tells me what I need to improve on and or what works
I would say once you put a build together, learn it, how far you can push yourself before dying. Learn the ins and outs. I mostly play on heroic with directives but I'm used to it. I also run either Striker or a sniper build.
Is it my imagination or is the difficulty higher recently for 2 and especially 3 players? I really noticed with 3 and that is our typically group size and things just seemed extra tough.
I don’t think anything has been changed in regard to tech at all. But there are some times where it seems like my skills just aren’t “listening”. Does that make sense?
Another thing I don’t see mentioned much is the scaling from solo to 4 players. Unfortunately 4 player scaling is not the kindest to hybrid builds so if the build guts in solo heroic, just make sure you’re not shooting marshmallows in 4 player. (Mainly manhunts and legendary)
If someone is dying all the time , it may be a good idea to drop a difficulty level. Don't feel you have to do challenging instead of hard just because you see guys always running higher difficulty. Play what works and is fun for you. If it's playing on hard, then do that. You need to have fun playing this game. Dying all the time is not fun.
The jump in difficulty from Challenging to Heroic is huge. I observed that you can handle Challenging diff when you have a decent build. Good dps works but when I tried Heroic you need to take cover more often and strategize your approach. Enemies hit hard and elites are more methodical in their approach. You can't tank as much at least especially on low SHD level (below 500). I suggest farming for max mods and gear. You can do CD or Summit also while leveling up season pass. One thing also I should point out that Legendary builds are made mostly by players with 4000 up SHD levels. That's probably months even years of playtime.
My advise for first time legendary is to go with as much survivability as possible and a reasonably experienced group and learn how each level runs then slowly swap out armour for damage
If you run a dps or tank, use a decoy. I grind out legendary to help others get the bighorn using 2 builds depending if global modifiers are on (as idk how it works im assuming its decided by host?) Both builds use decoy and reviver hive, i have a mantis build which will one shot elites if GM is active. And a striker set i mainly use when GM is off using both set talents which i havnt fully decided how im going with it. I could get more damage by not using the set talents or add a chill out and improvised part for the 2 extra mod slots to get protection from elites.
Just this week, I decided I wanted a Bighorn. It was funny and humbling going to legendary in the Summit. I haven't been playing much at all lately and honestly, I've been speed running the scout stuff on normal since the season started. All I have is expertise 27 damage builds. I'm going to need to tank up a little since I've decided to start playing legendary out of the blue. I was literally laughing out loud at myself in the Summit. lol... Time to go back to floor 1 and do some heroic farming for Foundry gear. [audible sigh]
last year i managed to melt enemies like butter on challenging, this year is heroic. but there's a but. when i go into legendary with my build that i used for heroic, im not melting them, they are melting me i was so confused, the gap between heroic and legendary is so massive even with my all full god roll gearset/weapons. but i once realized when you play on legendary, positioning is a must! you cant camp at one spot like you used to do in other difficult, they will find and eventually get to YOU. but overall legendary is overwhelming, its only for hardcore player and that is not me.
I have joined groups where the guys are on their first toon, they are shd of about 40, and builds are barely formed and/or coherent, and im like ..why are you doing legendary with this? Another important point is that, if you want to flourish as a group, you have to play your build accoring to the style of the group, if you are some uber 14k shd guy and you are running the zones like everyone else is, they tend to die alot, blame it on the other players and then quit, and that is dumb, you have to gear your play to that of the group, or i dont care how good you are, you probably are going to fail.
I see a lot of positivity in the comments so I’m sorry if this comes off as just complaining but I’m getting frustrated every time I play this game. My umbra set doesn’t gain stacks unless I un-equip and re-equip it. Enemies applying status effects when they do not have master of none indication. My skills glitch out and can no longer be deployed as if on an infinite cooldown. I’ve tried fast traveling/dying/switching loadouts but the only way to fix that issue to RESTART the game. I jump back into the game every few months and every time there’s some new bs.
