I’ve listened to a few of his songs under Gnaw Their Tongues, “Ten Bodies Hanging” might be the most insane song I’ve ever heard EVER. It sounds like what I imagine Hell might sound like. It intrigues me how a song like that can even be created but it makes me uncomfortable and that is what I love about it. It portrays such a feeling that nothing else in Metal can give me.
Gnaw Their Tongues song titles be like: "Scratch out my eyes and remove my organs with a razor blade and then feed them to rabid, drugged out homeless people while filming it all on an android"
Gnaw their tongues titles be like “Send me into a drug induced euphoric state while you slowly and painfully peel off the charred skin off of my infected, decomposing body as I slowly wither away in the repugnant catacombs of hells fire”
Seen GTT live at Brutal Assault few years ago. The man performed in shorts and sandals, yet his performance was more devastating and sinister than half of the festival's lineup combined.
Hahaha this reminds me of buying the sepultura live in Brazil vhs as a kid. It is so damn good (all pre-chaos ad stuff) then one day I noticed……..the bass player was wearing sandals. Took my 14yr old mind a little while to get round that.
Exactly man! His set was one of the most intense gig there. On the other hand, he as a person is super nice guy. I am glad that Přemek, who is in charge of KAL stage, was able to get him there. KAL is the most unique and interesting stage in last couple of years at BA.
I remember reading an interview he did (I think the vice one) where the write said he used a lot of emoticons in his responses. I can just imagine bro using smiley faces in all his responses while blaring extreme metal in the background and smiling while typing
Fuck yeah. Checked out some of the music on your channel, good stuff! I’m working on stuff myself for multiple projects I ought to start one like GTT soon.
I wish Gnaw Their Tongues would come with lyric sheets. Maurice is obviously really musically talented - I think he pretty obviously has a lot of familiarity with classical and soundtrack music and admire his ability to turn those gifts into clanging gruesome horror.
the way i like to explain to people why i voluntarily listen to music from artists like GTT or any other very outsider artists is that i enjoy exploring different sensations and emotions; from the super dreadful, to empty, to ethereal or euphoric, sentimental, etc etc., it really is like literature for your ears. and who doesnt love a good psychological horror for the ears, right?
I’ve always been intrigued and impressed by how prolific Maurice is in his projects. I really appreciate the dedication that he and Déhà give to creating such extreme, unsettling music.
The split that the two of them just released where they're making adaptations of "The Rite of Spring" is absolutely insane. I haven't heard Déhà's side yet, but GtT's is demented beyond belief

I also checked out his other works ( cloak of altering , caput mortuum, etc) Ive never heard anything close to it and immediately fell in love with the sound and atmosphere. Definetly one of my top bands 🤟
For all the GtT fans in the comments, I also suggest the band La Torture Des Tenebres. Not nearly as deep of a discography (just one album, to my knowledge), but the best way I could describe their sound is GtT + Imperial Triumphant. Easily one of the most overwhelming albums I've ever heard
I can’t say that I’ve listened to all of GtT’s songs, but I definitely love his creations. Personally I loved “L’arrivée de la terne mort triumphante” the most. Like when you feel and hear this unearthly noises you feel being in the other world. That was the most unique audio experience
Gnaw Their Tongues is a unique project. Maurice de Jong takes a lot of black metal, grind, industrial, and noise elements and combines it all in a sick and warped, yet intriguing listen with each album. I love All the Dread Magnificence of Perversity, Eschatological Scatology, Reeking Pained and Shuddering, Abyss of Longing Throats, and the collab he did with Dragged into Sunlight the most.

All the other bands you recommended on that disturbing albums video felt like a fun trip to Disneyland compared to this guys work, holy shit. So cool you did this on GTT! Mories rules!
I've been obsessed with gtt for a while now lmao and something I've found while listening to some of their material is that there is actually some guitar it just either blends into the background noise or is really quiet but is quite audible in songs like the title track of KWEH (kapmes wonden en haatliederen) and the last song of ES, there's also miniscule details sound wise in gtt songs as well that aren't really noticeable on first or even second listens which is just so cool in my opinion they're definitely one of my favorite projects to listen to lol

For what about me I love Bethlehem and Deathspell Omega but all right, I'll listen to Gnaw with more attention today. By the way I see Gnaw as some sort of disciple of Atrax Morgue and I believe Atrax went much deeper with his work, it was more real and less of a pure and simple shock tactic for getting noticed. Personal opinion... anyway these things we have already hear 2k times before, especially in Italian industrial projects.
Now that you said it, I cannot unsee it... Though I find Mories' works to be sonically richer (you know, when he drops the neoclassical part or the black metal moment). But, for what I've listened, Mr. Corbelli was more interested in the rawest and truest expression possible of his feelings, and that is admirable. (e sarà cringe da dire, ma saluto il compatriota. Vedo che anche Lei è uomo di cultura🙂).
@@enri_mucca haha si si i agree with u anyway. I just think Corbelli's operation had nothing political about it and nothing commercial about it, it was just an attempt to articulate his issues through art so that he did not have to act on them. also I also just thought that politics and sex - traits that are very pronounced in Italian industrial music from Atrax to Bianchi to Officine Schwatz etc etc but not necessarily so in German or American Industrial projects - are the evergreen pillars of satire. .. who knows maybe this is why we Italians are drawn to them more than other cultures. ;)
@@n3r0n3 "initial stunts" is a beautiful euphemism for those crazy COUM days :). And your statement about the "political" side of TG makes total sense. Since the inception of the industrial movement there has been pendulum-like movement between exposing the horrors of society for a satyrical and "journalistic" intent (TG themselves said, after recording some "music" and then listening to the urban environment around them, that they were not artists/musicians but reporters... or something in that vein) and simply embracing the fascination for that said horror. So it seems logical that artists like Corbelli or Mories have their spot in the scene (though I surely hope for a better ending for our beloved Dutch guy).
Is the fact I find Gnaw Their Tongues soothing a symptom of insanity ? My personal favorite is 'An Epiphanic Vomiting Of Blood'. That one seems to strike the best and blackest balance of what he does.

I saw one of their CDs at half price books recently, and didn’t buy it. I was near my budget and didn’t want to drop the cash. Kinda wishing I would have grabbed it and finally gave this band a shot
Yo Wyatt, i was wondering if you have listened to the band named Vampyroteuthis Infernalis or if you know any information about them. Personally i find them one of the "creepiest" bm albums ever despite all the known stuff like Emit, K.F.R etc. And probably because of the combination of the sound, album cover and theme which most likely is lovecraftian based or maybe for a reason i cant yet describe. But i'd like to know what you think of them !
Being a native Dutchman I'm still a little in doubt of being proud 😅. Nevertheless, his 'music' is undoubtedly terrifying original...horrifying, frightening and disgusting. I can appreciate it in a sense but don't recommend it to listen with "narrow minded" human beings. I think"they" will accuse you from being very insane in the membrane 😉

👿🔱😈.. Just heard of them yesterday.. I like what ive heard so far 🤘

I randomly stumbled upon Mories a few times on the internet. He seems nice, tho a bit snobby. It's nice however that he actively participates in music discussion with other metalheads on the internets.
Issei Sagawa EP is my favorite
