the glow up corona got in elden ring is so insane, it’s better in every single way possible, costs less, scales better, and has MUCH better range. love it
Yeah, It might be the best incantation when It comes to damage/FP consumed, even if It doesn't do that much damage, i think It only consumes an hilarius amount of only 3 FP
@@jajasking9652 Iirc, it had a cost of 10fp per cast on release. It was buffed a few months after release (give or take) to what it currently is.
So glad they made the spell not only cheaper, but actually pretty good.
Discus of light at it worst on release was STILL better than Way of white corona at its best. But now... Way of white corona is a must have in the arsenal of incant !users
The only annoyance is that 13 int required.

For Unfaltering Prayer you'd usually want the Canvas Talisman. Saints needs proper spacing.
It took me until after halflight to realize that talismans give different amounts of poise. By that point, it was too late since I didn't need unfaltering prayer anymore

The opportunity cost of Magic in Dark Souls 3 is the steepest of the series (unless you want to count Bloodborne as having magic) and the rewards too few, so when a spell performs noticeably worse than others, it feels like an insult to your effort. That's probably why certain things get sooo much hate, even if they're technically usable.
I agree. that same sentiment rings true in all the other souls games, but it's definitely most noticeable in DS3.
@@BigDiji Magic is slow in Demon's and Dark Souls 1, but it is OP, Dark Souls 2 its just good till the DLC, and Elden Ring, everything is viable and easy enough to set up; DS3 stands out with just how meh Magic is.

Weird lore thought on Fraampt and the Serpents in DS1, maybe them not using their arms is thematic of not telling you the whole truth or the whole story. Like they both only tell you the parts you want to hear and they sell themselves as serpents just to flex how deceptive they are. Anyways great video, subbed for the impending Thopps run!

If you used caitha chime or sunless talisman, the damage for your dark miracles would have been significantly increased. Just a tip in case you might use more dark miracles in the future.
I didn't even know that lifehunt scythe did dark damage until late in the run. Pretty stupid in hindsight. I appreciate the tip though! I'm not very familiar with spells in ds3
Dead again is actually very useful against the skeleton lords in ds2. Its so useful that you only obtain it right after the boss fight
I'd love if the dlc had something like the kos parasite. Probably would be a whip, but it's still cool to just wield a squid.
Why do I see so many people kill Judicator Argo before Halflight spawns in? You know you can just ignore him and he just dies by himself anyway, right?

Corona tho by itself its bad as a mixup in pvp its pretty good cause no one expects it
Dead again is a spirit bomb you need to charge up but ill be damned if it doesnt destroy invaders
Life hunt is actually slept on its a healing damaging miracle great for the bigger clunky-er bosses
I think lifehunt scythe was the best spell during the run. Only really failed me when the bosses had ridiculous dark resistance. Also, it was brought to my attention that there were better catalysts for using hexes. So I wasn't even using it at max potential. Dead again is really cool though. I just wish it didn't have to be setup in preparation for an invader to show up. Also the other weird stipulations where it only scales at fixed levels of faith is odd.

I remember going through the ringed city dlc for the first time a year or so after it released with a friend and saying I thought the way of white corona was a good spell and he said everyone in the community hated it. I’m wondering if it being just meh in a dlc with such OP weapons and spells made it get unwarranted hate
It's possible. There's definitely a lot of flashy weapons to overshadow it in the dlc.

There already is the one-shot blood dogs in the consecrated snowfield. If they could teleport, that area would be a lot scarier.

the only mandatory bosses in elden ring are: (spoilers)
2 demigods (godrick, renala, rikard or radahn) or the 1 demigod route: pumpkin head, loretta, Radahn, mimic tear, valiant gargoyle, fia's champions then from there its just godfrey, morgott, the fire giant, the godskin duo, maliketh, gideon, haora loux, marika and the elden beast.
Yeah, if you're trying to fight the least amount of bosses then Elden Ring is a pretty short game.
Dark souls 3 is just a classic that has stood the test of time! Let me ask you Diji, do you plan on doing this with the other games?

29:41 In a real playthrough you'd use the healing spells, making estus obsolete as Great Heal heals better than estus and you can do it 3x per ashen. Heal Aid being about equal, and Heal being about 2x as effective. Sunlight heal is useless tho. Bonus points for not being trash Elden Ring with input reads.
That's fair. Wouldn't the healing spells be too slow to use in boss fights alone though? This is a genuine question, I never used the healing spells before
@@BigDiji Nah, this is not Elden Ring where enemies delay their attacks to infinity, input read your chugging to rush you or input reading your spells to dodge. You usually can just run away and heal. Get 2-4 estus for emergencies.

I find the Dark Souls 3 tracks very generic and that's somewhat obscured by the constant "AAAAAAHAAAAHH". Real I think only OG Demon's Souls and Dark Souls 1 have good soundtracks, and Elden Ring and Bloodborne only have a handful of pretty good songs.

That's how I feel about Souls music in general, especially after Elden Ring. It all just blends together for me. Hell, I didn't remember Malenia's theme even after 6 hours of attempts
