One of the MAJOR themes of Dune is one is never as in control as you think you are, and that unexpected events can blindside you despite literal millennia of preparation.
And the most funny thing of all: The Bene Gesserit will survive the millenia long span of Herberts books - and in the end, they will rule the empire...
No, he is dead at this point. However, an argument can be made that he planned for the Bene Gesserit to enentually take over after his (planned) demise.
@@Ferox2121 I don't think he planned for the Bene Gesserit to take control. They're 1 of 3 dominating factions by the end of the Scattering. He knows they are important to humanity's survival afterwards.
Tributes with Lyrics can motivate you but a perfectly timed instrumental tuned to its Visuals is something time cannot touch because you can watch it a million times and it will still invoke something beautiful. Well done 👍🏽
Beautifully edited, more than beautiful. Expresses the story we can fit in with love and education. Our imaginations can be a gateway to multiple of worlds we choose to live in. That is one of them in mine, I do hope everyone else could see it as well.
Never ceases to amaze me! Well down SWFT! I honestly find the Bene Gesserit interesting in both the books and movies! Especially with their ties to the Great Houses
paul betrayed himself tho. He ended up following a path he did not want to follow so he could get his revenge on the Harkonnens. He redeems himself later, but he will cause a huge genocide, and loses control over his followers.
@@X8THECHI8X No it was a good adaptation, it's just some people always end up missing the message. It's like how after Avengers Endgame, there was a surprising amount of people online that honestly felt Thanos was right in wiping out half of all life in the galaxy in order to "save" it.
Paul might not be the best character to idolize since he leads a holy war that kills 60,000,000,000 people. In Dune Messiah there is literally a line where he compares himself to Hitler, so yeah, not a good character to idolize.
@@SWFT_edits ah yes ! your edits are incredible, and the one for dune are masterpieces ! (I hope you'll do one about chani, or even the relation between chani and Paul)
I only ever heard this name spoken by friends who knew the book(s?) and the original film. I thought it was 'Benejesuit' for the longest time. It is an elegant portmanteau of Benedictine and Jesuit. The costume design in the new films is intelligent. It exploits the look of these - and many other - patriarchal religious orders to convey their legacy of power, the history of humans who went before them, and the zany idea of a matriarchy turning the tables on it all. Quite funny how they're so obviously written from a male perspective, though.
I also misheared it as Jesuit when I first discovered Dune from a youtube video. I was wondering back then, why are the Jesuits in this universe male? Did the female-priest movement took over the Catholic Church in this era? 😂
Hi OP Have I mentioned how awesome it is that in those smaller Character Study videos you always put up a DUNE prologue line with the Sadukkar throat language? ❤ (Tho I wouldn’t be surprised if the audios are always the same one 😂🎉)
There's only a handful of Sardaukar throat singing clips so, yeah, it's usually the same ones. Glad you like it though, the idea is to evoke the chapter epigraphs of the books. :)
@@SWFT_edits I meant to mention this also! I’ve replayed the Sardaukar prologue at the beginning over and over- The Sardaukar singing/chanting just gives a real sense of other worldly…non-human. I absolutely love it! So thank you so much for incorporating that into the clips. I also found the music you used in this video just perfect, it’s audio-logically mesmerising and evokes beautiful emotion. It’s just SO good!!
Love the edit !! Could you maybe tell me how you get the clips to edit in such a good quality ? Are you simply screen recording a streaming site or what ? anyways thanks a lot !
It seemed rather laughable the mistake that they made, they wanted to snuff out the Atreides because they were becoming too independent and hard to control. But the idea that you could create this supernaturally powerful/intelligent leader to show humanity the way and at the same time you would control them is just foolishness. If you could control such a leader you wouldn't need them at all.
Fear isn't the mind-killer, fear is easily conquered. The utter meaningless of life, and the unchecked power of evil, they are the mind-killers. Oh, and being forsaken by one's friends, time and again, a real bummer, unto death.
Does it bug anyone else that she says a form of power that our ''world'' has not yet seen? Don't they live on many worlds? Perhaps a faux pas by Frank Herbert or the screenplay writer for Dune 2024.
@purgruv Sorry, I have not been clear. I know she is referring to the world as in all humanity, I am not confused at all as to what she means. But the only reason we use that phrase is because we only live on Earth. It's just odd that they are still attached to it 15,000+ years from now!

What did they think would happen really? Why would someone who could see the past, future and present plus being able to thinking in space and time need a witch truesayer to guide them? Really? Facepalm.
Overall id say good edit, though the music choice wasnt very fitting. The Bene Gesserit are very shadowy, mysterious, morally grey people, so replacing the more heroic music with something more foreboding would fit much better.
I find it sad that lacking intellect and/or motivation so many people are forced to wait for another's accomplishments to parasitize. One rebuttal claimed it was editing. Try editing your own work!!
People lacking intellect and/or motivation to research what they're talking about should not leave TH-cam comments. This film was cut by Joe Walker who did not shoot the footage himself-did he then also parasitize? Didn't the film itself parasitize the original novel?
What bugged me is that the writers overdid the already big parts that females had in t.he books. Why? They wrecked the storyline at every turn and invented spurious ones that made the story total BS!
One of the MAJOR themes of Dune is one is never as in control as you think you are, and that unexpected events can blindside you despite literal millennia of preparation.
Yeah, I always saw the book's thesis as: "The mystery of life isn't a problem to solve but a reality to experience."
