Since Day One, I’ve been saying SC lost to Iowa in last years National Semifinal game, not because of a lack of 3-point shooting (although it didn’t help the cause) but because NPOY & NDPOY Aliyah Boston was hit with 3 quick BS fouls--and sat on the bench for half of the game!
Per her postgame interview, when AB returned to the game she said she felt as though she couldn’t be herself and play the way she always does for fear of fouling out.
Funny thing when SC fans said the same thing that WVa fans are now saying- but when SC fans said it , we were accused of being salty?! Now I guess y’all see what I’ve been saying about Iowa and the preferential treatment from the refs.
And before somebody chimes in about LSU beating Iowa-- remember the refs were reprimanded and that officiating in that game was investigated.
The review findings were: the NCAA review concluded the officiating fell short of expectations.
Oh I forgot. The fact that the officiating in the Iowa/LSU Championship game was investigated solely because Iowa LOST should tell you all you need to know. PERIOD.
They have a bench this year so if Cardoso get into foul trouble they have pieces to put there

Congrats to Iowa but the refs really did pull for Iowa. How does Iowa only score on bucket in the fourth and win? The number of free throws each team took speaks for itself. They really want that LSU rematch and then probably South Carolina for the championship oof.
I watched the whole game and rewound a few parts. The bad calls were going both ways. 3 drives by Clark where she got fouled but she was surrounded on the drive as usual so I think that's why the refs missed it. If I was coaching against her I might use this strategy to get her out of rhythm. Quinelry is the bulk of their scoring at 19.8 so Iowa guards them the same way and they only avg 74 ppg so it looked like the same scenario. Pound her down till she's out of rhythm. No cheating there but a clunky game for sure. This is why the internet sucks.

WVU shot 34 3s and played aggressive M2M. This "foul discrepancy" is quite common for WVU in its games this year - their "defense" is basically fouling. Yes some of the and-1s were soft but are pretty much called 100% of the time in the NBA and Men's CBB. So just admit you don't know ball.

Ok, I saw the game. WVs game plan was to put the muscle on the Iowa shooters. They did a great job. Kept their shooters bro a season low. It almost worked.

I watched the game and have no dog in that fight and STILL thought the refs were calling in favor of IA and Clark, especially with fouls. By the end of the game, it was pretty blatant and embarrassing.
Considering how close the game ended up being, I don’t know how anyone congratulates IA. They didn’t beat WV. The refs did🤷🏾♀️
The highlights will never show it all . The 4th quarter was diabolical. Iowa had one field goal . The refs saw how nothing was going in for them and started swaying calls Iowa way . Not a fan of either team just basketball and I saw it clear as day .

I have no hate for Clark, but if she wants to use that off hand to push off, she better be prepared for defenders to give her that work. When the defense turns up, it throws her off her game. I dont know if she understands that those women in the W are going to be looking to humble her... I hope her temmates are able to keep her grounded because the broader media is not doing her any favors painting her as the best thing since sliced bread. I watched the game and in the second half, it looked questionable, and i dont have a dog in the fight.

Duke and OhioState 29 and 27 Free throws. Colorado vs. Kansas State 25 Free throw to 10 FT . Virginia Tech bs Baylor 25 FT to 12 . It's not just Iowa is my point. Seems to be called tight with certain games, mostly with the good teams.

This same thing happen in Carolina IOWA game last year, powers of being last year rigged the game for IOWA and Carolina was cheated out of a championship. The independent investigators firm investigated and found that IOWA got favorable calls or no calls and the opponent got unfavorable calls and no calls. So here we go again

Yes the Refs can control that as well by calling fouls on key players, fouling them out of the game. I said it at the beginning of the season, Iowa will win the natty because the Refs and the NCAA will make sure of that. This Iowa team should have at least 15 losses right now

Refs called a fair game in the second half they weren't calling anything in the first and yes the WV team was fouling just like they did against Princeton that's how they play basketball and it cost them which was Thier choice to make
I saw no favoritism. In fact if anything Iowa got short shrift especially in the first half. WV plays a rough game/a physical game. Iowa plays a fast scoring game..free flowing and on the move. How do you slow them down? Get ON them physically. WV always gets lots of calls
