I have a (hopefully) useful observation on this - I'd plateau'd at touch-and-go and couldn't work out what was going wrong when I accidentally pumped my front foot while the board was stalling. That's all it took; it's not just about shifting your weight, it's also about forcing the nose down by pushing with your front foot. You can see it at time marks 1:01 to 1:05 in the video (use the period and comma keys to go frame by frame) - he extends his front leg, forcing the nose down and regaining stability. His weight doesn't really shift forward - if anything, it moves slightly back. This one technical change took me from being stuck at 50 yards of foiling to 1/3 mile - in one session. I love this sport!
This is the greatest recreational innovation of the century! My question is; as battery technology advances will you sell upgraded battery packs so I can get a longer runs... Or will the entire board need to be replaced/upgraded?
Sad that most who comment here are just kids... who can't even afford a pair of shoes. I say price it at what you want. It's meant for the early adopters. I still think TESLA's are way overpriced but people still buy them. Good luck to this company. Looks like an amazing product and probably easier to learn on compared to surfing.
40k is to expensive for a brand new vehicle? Id say it's pretty common for a brand new 0 mile vehicle to be around that price tag. And also you've gotta take into account that you drive for a fraction of gasoline motors, AND there is close to none motor maintenance. Which usually costs a crap fuck of bucks to do.
Not going to argue about the costs of teslas since that's off topic.... but I'm sure you've already seen the many posts on forums where telsa's are not affordable, don't save you any money compared its gas counterparts... and even worse... does not help the environment.
Love to hear your humble advice - it resonates a lot as I'm at this stage in wind foiling with a Star-board 122 giving the same challenges to the ego and what is "my body".
I have had one now for 3 weeks & find it as challenging as when I first took up kite foiling , flat water is easy , the more waves of chop you have the more challenging it is .
I've never foiled, but have kiteboarded quite a bit. I backed off kiting when I had kids, but I'm thinking of getting this eFoil as a toy my kids and I can share on flatwater and then induce them into kiting when they are older.
In flat water & with seed control set to 1 , your kid will have a ball,,pay special attention to the video about jumping away from the E-foil & get them to practice a bit , as the bruises when the board & or foil hit you , really hurt as you move before the 80lbs foil & if i runs into you it is a lot of momentum for your body to stop ...
@William Burns I personally wouldn't call this price outlandish, but we certainly agree on your core points. Foilboarding (without a motor) is blowing up for a variety of reasons, and this board does appear to be the easiest and most affordable way to learn foilboarding skills. I personally wouldn't want to mess around with a boat that was discounted down to 12 K (sounds like something would be a lemon and need lots of repairs) and at any rate, you'd need to pay the gasoline to run it, pay for insurance, tow it, find someone to drive it for you, etc. This board looks like it will train you 90% of what you need to know to catch ocean waves with a SUP foil. I have a kiteboarding background, and my sense is that foil surfing is like kiteboarding - very hard to acquire the initial skills, and then very fun once you get over the hump. For sure, when my kids are out of the house in a few years, I will be dedicating a few years to foiling, and I'll likely buy this board even if its still 12K
Hello, it´s very nice to know you guys!.. I had a Jetboard once and also a Jet Surf later... ( cause I work with importation in Brazil) Is this an evolution of the Jet Surf? where can I try it, only at Porto Rico? Eletric?.. Thanks!
Lipo batteries, the lcd waterproof controller, carbon hydrofoil and wing, the custom board, manufacturing, labor, etc.. very easy to get up in cost quickly. For how fun this looks i'll gladly drop 12k on one.
$12K for this board really doesn't seem that bad. If you think about how much a sea doo costs and the maintenance required, then the hundreds $$$ of fuel you need to power it, this board is a no-brainer. An ATV can cost in excess of $20K...and usually gets broken when taken out to a trail ride.
I just know it's ~5 times as expensive as it needs to be.. I'll be interested in 10 years when the price has dropped but by then I'll be too old for that shit. Cool gizmo. Best of luck with it.
If you can build a Left eFoil to stand up in, why not build one so you can lie down in or sit in. Leaning forwards and backwards should give the same lift effect, you would think? Just saying you could imagine flying along the water like super man!
Good luck on that - once your CHEAP Chinese knock-off breaks after 5 seconds of use have fun calling (a probably fake) phone number in China for tech support. I'll watch you struggling with your broken Alibaba junk while I glide by on something quality.
I can just see me losing power off shore and floating out into the sea....and then being rescued 6 months later...only to sue and be the new owner of the lift foil company.
Some says elon musk is a genius..i am thinking just the opposite....fucking stupid is selling tesla 30k !!!! a real genius should cost a thing 1000 and sell 12k to market...
Another awesome and detailed video , great to see you back up and running and shipping! Looking forward to test it.
I bought two & I love it!

Great video series! Looking great, can't wait to try one :) Looks light and super fun to ride. Congrats!
Have you tried it?

You can buy different pieces of that :D

you spent 12k on this? lol.
Jealousy is an ugly emotion bro. This dude is mastering a kick ass sport (foilboarding), haters gonna hate, shredders gonna shred.

12k for an Ironing board, a broom stick and a desktop fan?
xDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD
Iron board I'd probably tougher than this styrofoam board xD
Nice job!
Can you rig a solar panel on it?
Why? Solar panels are slow energy input, the added weight cost and fragility would hardly increase battery life, maybe by 5% tops?
I live in Miami how can one ???
$12,000 hahaha U are funny !!!
12k for real? haha. What a joke.
I know it is ridiculous
eh id settle for buying this for like $4~6000. Feels like 12k is even high for a prototype price

12k is just absurd. maybe 5k. but not 12k....im failing to see where the expense comes from....
DJ Deckard Cain once the novelty wears off it will come down to 5 grand. Kinda like with giant TV's.
5k... still way too much let's be real

Yeah like these things are targeted for mega yacht owners not an average person so it’s actually cheap for it’s market
I just know it's ~5 times as expensive as it needs to be.. I'll be interested in 10 years when the price has dropped but by then I'll be too old for that shit. Cool gizmo. Best of luck with it.
