I myself went on vacation and lots of plants suffered alot.. and it was heartbreaking.. After watching this I've got the motivation to go back to the plants and trim and give a new look 😄 thanks alot for posting another plant video for plantlovers 😊❤️
I grow my green pothos in water so it never lacks any of it. It is unkillable : I saved 5 dying cuttings that a tenant left behind for 4 months in an almost empty cup of rotting water, brought them home. I washed the rotten roots and placed them in fresh water. They were saved except maybe 1 or 2. Then I moved the small cuttings into a larger pond 26 then 30 cm and they grew wild : up to 2m - 3m long , crawling all over the place , climbing up a decorative wood board and on the wall by itself with its aerial roots, almost making a vertical green wall I trimmed twice and drastically the second time because it’s just invading the TV table even tho it’s in low light. Trim helped sprouting new shoots at the base and at the head so it doesn’t look so leggy. I propagated some branched cuttings with aerial roots in the water and they grow roots within 5 days. Even I don’t change the water for 8 months and the roots , the trunk were rotting , it was still thriving like nothing happened. I cut the roots and plopped it back into water and it grows new roots like nothing happened. So in worst case scenario : if you can’t save a pothos in soil, propagate cuttings with aerial roots in water : it will survive ! I also cut the philodendron micans and lemon lime to move them into water cuz the roots of the philodendrons in soil just wouldn’t stop rotting and they keep dying. In water they survive. I give them 3 grain of fertilizer in 5L of water and roots booster diluted at 10%, no more because the pothos doesnt appreciate high doses of fertilizer, the leaves start to burn. The Philodendron can take 50% dilution, no problem I will switch soon to a fertilizer for monsteras , aroids that is suitable for hydroponics to feed them better. Hope it helps
I go on long trips for vacation and work all the time. I use an Auto Drip Irrigation or an old water bottle with an attached water spike that always stay in my plant in which I refill when it is empty. I also have a sprayer for the top soil that I do weekly but my plant eats when in its hungry through automated water supply.
I am going on a 5 week vacation soon and don't wish to leave my thriving pothos behind. I researched every option available to keep them moist but most like self watering bulbs only last about 3 weeks. Hesitant to leave it to the care of others as I don't know if they'll take it as seriously as I do 😔
It is a struggle indeed! I've also heard of people hiring others from places like task rabbits to water the plants while they are away on vacation. In any case, pothos tend do bounce back well. Good luck!
This happened to my pothos and I was so sad, had lots of vines that had grown to the floor. I finally got around to pruning it back and propagating a few new pothos. It still need to be repotted because it's rootbound sigh...so much work!
Take more pins to rap it around ull see baby roots on the joint make sure to put the on grown and water it will be short but in few months you'll have a fuller fully restored plant. Trust me it may not be long but sometime but it will look healthy and good. Also, I would keep all stemps in water they would have rooted
What I do is when I repot it I put soil & then coffee grinds that I use From the coffee pot & mix it together & water what it does is make it stronger the leafs &get more babies
I was surprised and abit curious as to why you didn't take the time to propagate the stems you cut off...or threw away. Pathos are among some of the easiest plants to propagate. You could have rooted and plugged into the bare spots and before you know it you have a beautiful full plant again!
I had at least 3 pots of golden pothos in my tiny 1 bedroom apartment when this all happened, and I had known I would move overseas a few months later (that would require getting rid of all my plants), so making more pothos wasn't a priority for me at the time. I did pot up the two long stems after they rooted in water though :)
My poor Golden Pothos! It has grown so well in my old apartment with none direct light at 74 to 75 degrees. Growing to be 5 feet long not bushy but hige hnad sized leaves. We had to move and it's turned like yours in the video. I buried the bare vines after taking the yellows off into its own planter and still it's wilted leaves have not swollen to green like before. Not sure what to do.
My pothos plant vines turning yellow too.. The two of long plant tht you u save and put them in jar of water,,, did they grow back? Plz let me know . Thanks for your vedio…
A year ago I had a single plant: tiny little crassula ovata. Because of some circumstances I had to leave home for THREE months. It was relatively cold in the apartment and the plant was not watered, so I dreaded I would come back to a corpse. Imagine how surprised I was to come back to an incredibly thirsty but living plant! I watered it and in a week or so it regained its pre-abandonment state
I have a really bad pothis brasil, or gold..? I get it from my neighbor, in the baddest condition, I have seen.. totally dry out, brown dead leaves, I pull the away, than the yellow, pale curled leaves, I trow some also away, only now he's looking also very not happy, but on the vines are so so many nodes, I don't want to cut them for pruning again.. what is the best advice how I can save and care these love..? 🌿 I have to repot them, because the roots are near bij the end op the top, not into the middle, the vines, go straight to downstairs, it's a hell of a weight for the small part that Wil into the soil with roots..
I'm sorry to hear about the condition of this plant. Once you've identified and addressed the problems that led to its poor condition, I'm a fan of pruning because I think of it as giving the plant a fresh start (especially if it is spring where you live right now, the plant can grow back really fast). Sometimes it might just take some patience for the plant to recover and adjust. Good luck!
Oh no! If you know that it's turning yellow because it's dry, then doing something similar to what I in this video might work. Mine is doing a lot better now!
If the soil is too hard because it's been dry for too long, I find the water tends to roll off the surface and doesn't get absorbed, so I'd have to soak the soil in a tub for some time to soften it
Hecking unkillable and easily fast growing golden pothos. I bought mine in a nice little pot and in a bit less than two years all I've managed to do is kill a couple of leaves. None of the stems have grown in length or started branching.
Yes you don't need to propagate in water, and I have a video comparing water vs soil propagation! :) also if you want to plant the cuttings back into the same pot (what I wanted to do eventually), you will want the cuttings to have long roots before putting them in, otherwise the cuttings will need water much more frequently than the established part of the plant.

It can be very heartbreaking indeed. I hope your plants recover!

You’re trash can is so tiny! It would drive me nuts trying to smash stuff in. Good job bringing the plantypoo back to life.
Haha yes it's such a struggle putting stuff in that trash bin!

Thanks for sharing such great tips!!
I enjoy listening to your voice so much. It's so calming!

Leave them in your bathtub with 2 inches of water.
This happened to my pothos and I was so sad, had lots of vines that had grown to the floor. I finally got around to pruning it back and propagating a few new pothos. It still need to be repotted because it's rootbound sigh...so much work!
Yeah I ended up with massive roots too but barely any leaves. I hope your pothos recovers well!

Oh no! The two I put in water grew roots after some weeks, and I planted them back in the original pot of pothos.
I tried and It worked for me too. Thanks again 🙏
I have learned a lot from this video
Glad to hear that!

That's incredible! Plants are so strong :)
Aye, jade plants are very hearty survivors. As are most all succulents.
thank you so much 🪴 💗😭🙏🏼
No problem!
Where did you get the shelf with the build in light? It is so cool! Love your video!
Thank you! I have no idea where the shelf came from though because it was already there when I moved into this apartment.
I cut mine every month. She is very bushy.😊
Great to hear that!
keep updating!
Will do! :)
What to do as once I am trying repotting a money plant it's start to turn yellow and die.. what to do 😢

Oh no! If you know that it's turning yellow because it's dry, then doing something similar to what I in this video might work. Mine is doing a lot better now!
Can you tell me where you got that lighted shelf please?
That lighted shelf was already installed there before I moved into the apartment, so I don't know where its from. Sorry!
@@BudgetBotany Lucky woman!
What happens if the soil hardness is that a bad thing
If the soil is too hard because it's been dry for too long, I find the water tends to roll off the surface and doesn't get absorbed, so I'd have to soak the soil in a tub for some time to soften it
Its strange because i feel like my pothos needs watering a lot considering its supposed to not need it very often
Yeah there are so many factors! I notice my watering schedule changes the most with different season and soil mix
Hecking unkillable and easily fast growing golden pothos. I bought mine in a nice little pot and in a bit less than two years all I've managed to do is kill a couple of leaves. None of the stems have grown in length or started branching.
No need to trim vines once leaves are removed new leaves grow in their place
If you watch planterina then you know you don't have to put them in water to propagate.
