I don’t know why, but Speed Chanpions sets are so addicting, I love all of the building techniques that they pack into such a small package, and this set is truly no exception! Can’t wait for the Volvo Truck and Excavator review!
I like that about Speed Champions sets as well. Some of them can be very challenging. I want Lego to do a similar type series, but with classic vehicles. I'm more interested in a old Chevy or Ford than a Lamborghini or Porsche.
Finally somebody did mention licensing, it doesn't hurt for Lego make there own custom livery and listening doesn't getting involved and also licensing is an issue that people over look, this is the same issue Forza has for example the Toyota controversy back in FH4 and the Stalantence Situation in FH5.
I get that, but I would've rather had it a bit more grounded in reality as opposed to Mardi Gras colors lol. Honestly my biggest issue with the kit is its dependence on stickers in the back, because that makes it much harder to make your own liveries with the design.
The good thing about Lego is you can swap out parts for different colours, and those willing to put in the effort can make alternative stickers sheets. I remember seeing someone make the entire Formula E grid using the Jaguar team car as the basis.
@@Velk413 You say that as if NASCAR hasn't had a literal rainbow car (JG's No.24) before.. or the M&M's (KB's No.18) one.. or silly ones like Batman.. I dunno, I'd say it's pretty grounded in reality all things considered. I agree with the stickers though, would've been nice to have a few more prints
I'm not in love with the livery or colors (kinda clashing and too busy looking) but I can't deny that the building techniques for this set are brilliant, plus the shaping is great.
As for 6-wide re-releases, I'd love to see the Ferrari FXX, but LEGO would sooner choose the Chiron, I think. Otherwise another classic WRC car - maybe a '98 WRX or Ford RS200.
I would love to see them remake the classic Mustang in 8 wide, as well as try a 2005 Ford GT maybe including some new pieces to nail the look of the front end.
I would actually love to see the Subaru Impreza rally car. I know they did the Quattro but I’m impartial to the A1, I really like the black, white and red livery
There are many models wish Lego could made in speed champions, I wish they made a double pack of Porsche or why not Alfa Romeo Double pack, or a classic modern japonese car from that time of gran turismo 2, maybe or a buggy
I built my set last night. The build around the rear of the car is especially impressive, and the use of the fifth wheel arch at the front is a very clever idea. Personally, I am also happy with the stickers on a set like this. Thanks for another great review.
Funnily enough, I think this is one of the few instances where printing the stickers on clear backing rather than colour would've made more sense. People who want to use the taillight stickers on other colours just can't since they're printed blue, while printing them on clear would've allowed for more creativity with mocs since they could in theory be applied to any coloured 2x2 slopes for variation in liveries. It's funny to me how lego will use clear sticker backing for sets that don't need it, then they don't use it for sets like this where it would work really well.
I would definitely want to see more remakes of the 6-stud-wide cars into 8-wide. Especially the earlier sets like the McLaren p1, Laferrari, and 918 Spyder. They could also remake the Chiron but as the SS 300+ version.
Looks a lot better in the video than in the photos. I think I’ll add it to my collection. Given that the real cars are silhouette racers with painted on lights this is an instance where stickered lights are more accurate
I kinda like this years speed champions lineup, but last year it was a bit better I think. The Ford Mustang Fastback would be an interesting one to see in 8 studs
Any type of truck like the ford raptor they did years ago would be super cool as an 8 stud wide set. Also rerelease of like the mini coopers would be cool as well
Initially I wasn’t interested in this set. Having watched your video with interest and seeing the build experience and overall result I’ve now decided it’s on my list 😊. For this model the amount of stickers doesn’t surprise me and the licencing comments don’t bother me. Great video as ever thank you
I like the evolution of Speed Champions, i wonder when it gona get to the point where models in that scale has opening doors, suspension and working steering wheel
I usually use my finishes lego sets as decoration for my garden (modular buildings in a garden suddenly turn into fairy homes), so I love prints, because they are reistent to rain.
Let's hope we get more supercars for Speed Champions next year, one of my dream sets that could easily be done would be a Bugatti EB110 and Bugatti Centodoeci double pack!
You've talked to Lego people and even had videos with them. Why don't they use stickers with transparent backgrounds? We have seen the transparent stickers before but they're not the norm. Unless I'm missing something, transparent stickers would eliminate incorrect color-matching.
I’m happy they’re doing remakes. Do I want ALL of the next ones to only be remakes? HELL NO. Am I cool with 1-2 a year? HELL YES. I want to see the GT40, 60s Mustang, Senna, Chiron, etc in 8 wide
Imo this model would’ve been better if it was the garage 56 version from lemans last year. Not only was it extremely popular among racing fans,it also would allow for more interesting building techniques for all the extra aero around the car (e.g the rear canards),the current one just feels like a simple upscale from 6 studs to 8 instead of a full evolution of the original model imo
Would love to see an 8 wide 911. I withhold judgement on the new set until I’ve built them (they arrived this morning) but generally, the 2024 Speed Champions have been superb.
I don't mind the livery, but the the slick tires from the BWM set with a Goodyear Eagle yellow prints would help a lot this Camaro, also another Goodyear print in two of the wheel arches
I wouldn't mind some more reissues of 6 wides. Since we've already gotten the current model Mustang in 8-wide, the Porsche 911 would be my next choice. Honestly I think a classics 2 pack would do well, with an 8-wide take on the 67 Mustang and the GT40. The Senna and Merc AMG GT3 would really benefit from 8-wide redesigns too Lastly, and this is more of a gripe I should of put on the ferrari video, but I'd love some more red cars that aren't Ferrari.
Honestly i don't mind these rereleases. if they were 8 stud cars getting a rerelease i'd feel differently but seeing the older 6 stud cars being released in more complex and detailed models. Would love to see the 917 to match the 512S, the 911 RSR or Audi R8 LMS would also be great to go with the rest of the GT3 and GTLM line up. Looking at the old line up would love to see stuff like the AMG GT3, the LMP1 cars, Ford GT '66 or the Ford GTLM, ton of awesome cars in the back catelogue and yeah as others have said, would love to see the Senna or the Chiron, wouldn't mind the Holy Trinity back, P1 first considering the 1:8 one we're getting

few days ago i was searching for color codes of legos, to use within blender. Learned that Lego colors aren't fitting their given pantone ratings. So there's zero chance to get the stickers right if Lego doesn't "know" it's own colors. plus, expect the colors used for (sticker)printing are a tiny bit off too.🤔
Something I didn't like is that having the opportunity to create an original livery, they made one that uses a lot of gradients to make color changes in a more organic way, that idea would work well on a real car but the gradients in LEGO don't translate very well and the color changes look very abrupt
