    Ohh no! I just found your channel and thought yes! Finally a channel that shows the true potential of the 09 and I was hooked since I just bought a 2023sp. And then you sold it 😢

      I do miss the MT09, mainly that CP3 engine, which I think might just be the best production engine on sale today! Watch this space, I can see myself owning another Yamaha triple soon😉

    I agree with your comments, it's a fun bike, not too serious but I love it for that. Thing I have noticed compared to my 890R is when pushing on over bumpy roads, the suspension ties itself in knots and gets out of control pretty quickly. Ridden to its strengths though its a fantastic bike. 👌

    I do 350 mile days on my 2022 MT09 SP. Loving in. I don't think it gets old after an hour. I imagine it depends on where you ride. If you put on LIF control you won't have to worry about wheelies.

      I used to ride mine all day and loved it, I'm a huge fan of the bike. I think the comment about it getting old after an hour didn't quite come across as intended. I think what I was driving at was that other naked bikes like the v2 streetfighter, or bikes derived from sport bikes, typically put the power down a little better. My favourite aspect of the MT is its playfulness but at the same time it does hold the bike back when you really push on (in my opinion) but with that being said, the MT is not meant to be a sports bike with straight bars so it is probably a bit of an unfair comparison👍

    Why not a GSXS750/1000 ? AMAZING bikes that scream in top RPM's. Had a 750 and sold it for a Z900, Sold the Z900 and will buy another GSXS750/1000 any time now.. :P Also have you had a Look at the Speed Twin from Triumph ?

      It is a good point, I had kind of dismissed all inline 4 cylinders on the basis that they are generally not as engaging as v twins v fours or 3 cylinders, but having recently ridden an inline 4 cylinder again I think they can be just as fun in their own way, super smooth and relaxing to ride but still engaging as the revs rise. I haven't ridden the gsxs750 but I have seen a few videos, epic sound and induction roar👍

    MT 09 is a good step up bike for hooting around. That being said your bother rides a Tuono and you feel you can handle the awesomeness and performance of an Aprilia or Ducati go for it.

    Before buying a Streetfighter take a ride on the BMW s 1000 r 2022 .. bit of a damp spot at 5000 rpm but open a fast loud howler when you rip it .. suspension and brakes top class ..civilized around town .. just a thought 🤙🏻

      @tankslapmoto9999  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I bought the 22 Tuono Factory in the end but I would like to try the BMW s1000r, it seems to be a bike that gets slightly overlooked for some reason. Some say the engine is a little bland but from the videos that I have seen it sounds like it has plenty of character above 5k, with nice pops and crackles from the exhaust. I will definitely try to have a go on one before the end of the year👍

    I got the mt09sp 2 weeks ago.. I really wanted the streetfighter V2 but insurance was a myth for me being my first bike.. mt insurance wasn’t tooo bad

      I agree, the general biking community overlooks the MT09 and on paper it seems sensible, truth is that its a rather unhinged machine😄

    Got my MT on a PCP deal, think I'd lose too much if I tried to chop it in now. Only got it last Sept. I was thinking along the lines of a Suzuki GSX1000 GT or a Ninja SX 1000.

    • @tankslapmoto9999
      @tankslapmoto9999  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm sure you will have plenty of fun if you keep the MT, but I was pleasantly surprised by how well it held its money when I sold it, I think the lack of supply of new bikes is helping. The new GSX GT looks tasty, that K5 gsxr engine is meant to be a peach as well👍

      @@tankslapmoto9999 exactly why I was leaning towards the Suzuki! Plus a much better bike for two up rides. Mrs can't stand the seat on the MT, don't think the comfort seat would help much.

    Have you tried to set up suspension so it won't wheelie everywhere?

    • @tankslapmoto9999
      @tankslapmoto9999  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I added some preload to the rear and a few clicks of compression, it tamed the front end a little but I didn't find that it made a huge difference. It's not that bad to be fair, can overcome it with a little rear brake and body position (or electronics) butI think I just noticed it jumping off of the v2 streetfighter which is understandably based on a sports bike with a longer wheelbase.
