My MOM passed away in Nov of '94 on Thanksgiving day. But before she left us we had many years of learning many things, among them cooking. On that day I remember everyone showed up. We had a long table with three delicious turkeys and all the trimmings but no one could eat. My Dad was trying to stay strong for us but he was devastated. He got it together and took care of us and grand children as best as he could. We did alright because a family makes it work. En Cristo todo se puede.

I'm so sorry to hear about your dad. My dad passed away on May 6th, 2021 & my mother passed away on May 7th, 2023. My mom's death has affected me the most, cause I had a closer relationship with her, than my dad. But, that didn't mean, that I loved him any less. I just wasn't around him as much as I was with mom. 😢❤
I am so very sorry. 13 months for me coming Christmas Day. I lost him day after Thanksgiving. He spent his last few days on the ventilator having End Stage COPD.
Then, almost a week after bringing in the New Year goes my extra mother.

I would open gifts and she would be in her tank, it was the happiest day of my life. Now that she is gone and in Heaven, Christmas is so hard without her being there. I love you, Cinnamon. You never really know what someone's going through. You shouldn't assume you know everything about a person's life just cuz of the food they make or the gifts they buy. The world can be an uncaring place, but I like to believe that it's a little bit more than that.
